  1. i thought so too. i'd expect US price to be lower than exchange rate that you used.
  2. haha, 8041 will be here tomorrow! i am very excited! i don't think i will make the secondary model. i bought 8258 just for that crane. i am actually thinking of making this :http://www.designer-han.nl/lego/prinoth%20leitwolf.htm based on bricklink price, etc., it will cost me just over $200. i like big scale models, which is another reason why i dont want to make secondary model. front loader and lamborghini are backordered but i ordered them last friday. i am just not sure if it's worth buying snow groomer from LEGO since i am building the big model. i will likely get additional parts for 8258 when i order other parts. LEGO owns.
  3. i agree. you should post whenever there's an update so that everyone can review. thinking of building a set soon. i will keep your store in mind! about ~3000 parts to buy! :o
  4. wow. some hardcore collectors out there! i am buying MISB to open, build, and show so my vote is to open it. 1 set is more than enough for me! :)
  5. lucky you. i am guessing you aren't in USA? mine won't be here until next month. :( And I will be out of town for a month...sucks.
  6. nono, i meant by looking at the manual, when you tilt the cabin forward, what's underneath the cabin? i am guessing some PF parts can be fitted under cabin since engine is out of the way(?). i am waiting for mine to arrive. i placed on order last friday afternoon. i was told that it should arrive sometime this week.
  7. what's underneath the cabin since the engine sits back of the cabin? i am guessing there will be 8041.2 instruction (with power functions). at least i hope!!!
  8. i am aware of it but from what i've been told, i need extra parts to do modification. if you are talking about CAD model, i decided to do 7784 (batmobile), which is a lot simpler. i thought it'd be quite complex to arbitrary position gears. the program is awesome. i am already thinking of MOC. haha
  9. thanks. i think it's working now. i think i am going to rebuild 8258 model. just wondering, can you move parts within mlcad (i.e. lifting crane arms, stabilizers, etc. without recreating model). Thanks a lot!!!!!
  10. alright thanks. i wish i can have extra parts to do some moding. thanks again for coming back to leave a reply!
  11. wow. completely automated! cool
  12. Yeah still giving me errors... ldraw027.exe and complete.exe can't be executed. (asking me to check which OS I am running (32 or 64 bit)) My directory is: D:/LEGO/LEGOCAD/ldraw027.exe D:/LEGO/LEGOCAD/complete.exe D:/LEGO/LEGOCAD/mlcad320/all mlcad files after extracted from zip When I execute mlcad.exe, it asks me for part directory, which I assume is the complete.exe. I was following ReadMe from mlcad file and the execution file that I am suppose to run first is ledit.exe. Hm...
  13. ldraw027.exe <- this file can't be executed in 64 bit, which I downloaded from the official website. Are you guys using 32 bit by chance? Thanks a lot!!!
  14. "Windows 95/98/ME, NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP and Linux." I have Windows Vista and 7 :( Time to look for XP (?).
  15. Couldn't find this info from this forum after search so I am posting this thread. After reading Blakbird's thread (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23066&hl=rendering), I was looking into it but it appears to be the program is only compatible with Mac, not Windows. After spending some time google, I found bunch websites (freeware) for LEGO rendering (CAD programs) and wasn't sure if there's a program that's superior to other programs that are available. 1. http://www.ldraw.org/Article58.html Above seems to be quite popular one based on Brickshelf galleries but I also found this: 2. http://www.kaejae-worx.com/don/lego/howto.htm I am just extremely bored...waiting for a set of LEGOs to come...I need to find something to kill time! Thanks! [edit] maybe ldraw is the way to go... seems like it doesn't support 64-bit Windows?
  16. thanks for the link. i was also looking for this!
  17. Hm...mine is fully engaged and still rotates a little bit. So the crane properly functions when the transmission is fully engaged? I was thinking that this might come from added tolerances from each part (play between parts add up causing this issue) but I may be wrong. I am just wondering if this is "known" issue with this model or technic model in general as far as gears and moving parts are concerned. Thank you for reply. :)
  18. sorry to bump the old thread but is there a particular reason why you use TIFF instead of JPEG?
  19. wow... so having a spare sticker set is the only option if I want to have stickers "forever". I guess I don't need to worry about stickers leaving any marks on lego bricks if they are that BAD. thanks for the link!
  20. If LEGO stickers are on the LEGO part for a long period of time without directly exposed to sunlight, do they leave any marks or anything on the LEGO itself when they are taken off? I am sure it will leave adhesives on LEGOs but just wondering. :p
  21. nice! i wish i was into LEGO back in 2006. it costs a lot now :( this is definitely one of my "need" set.
  22. pretty cool idea. without knowing what's going on in the motor (LEGO newb here), I am not sure if that's the safe way to go but based on what you've said, it looks good!
  23. +shipping which is another 50 bucks or so. You will be paying at least $200 (including shipping). I'd look out for ebay/BL unless they stock them more in future.
  24. They have them up in CT (based on LEGO rep). I will see if they arrive upcoming week. I don't think it's going to be too difficult to motorize that ($29.99). Looking forward to it!
  25. I just placed on order at LEGO store along with 2 other items, which are backordered. It should be here in 3~5 business days!!! :)
