  1. Ah well. This is still probably the first time in my memory that an entire line is exclusive. I remember the torture trying to find Luke's Landspeeder in stores. It took around a whole week of continuous checking, even though the nearest Big W isn't that close. And yes, I've noticed that this thread is particularly popular. The high prices and often unexciting sales probably contribute a lot to that.
  2. Anakin has the same face as from the Podracers? That's a little annoying, but oh well. The printing on the droids kind of looks nice.
  3. Hmm, the wording is a little strange. "New range in store now" isn't the same as "exclusive to Big W", so there might be hope that the sets will be available elsewhere later. Also, if the whole Pharaoh's Quest line is exclusive to Big W, then it's odd that they won't get new stock after store stock is depleted. Unless they are really that exclusive and they don't have any additional stock at all, then maybe it's just an early exclusive for a month or so.
  4. Oh wow, that's great! Nice how Wall-E can show emotions with his eyes, and the movement is quite realistic. It also looks like the movie version.
  5. Oh, that's a relief. It might be inconvenient for you guys, but I'm personally not getting those sets, so that means Mace Windu's Starfighter will probably coming to Target then.
  6. Hmm, interesting. Looks very similar to the Queen Anne's Revenge though, and might be smaller. However, the minifigs and black colour scheme are very nice. Davy Jones seems to be wearing a recolour of Blackbeard's hat, so it looks like the tentacle pieces are separate.
  7. Hmm, interesting. Way too large and expensive for my collection, but the minifigures are nice. Dengar in particular stands out. Also, is that hologram piece Vader is holding the same as the one in the Republic Frigate?
  8. Yay, finally word of the exclusives! Seems like Mace Windu's Starfighter is the only possibility, I don't think the other two exclusives are going to be out here for at least a month. Edit: Wait, it's the Imperial Shuttle? That's kind of unexpected for Target. Too bad on the news that Pharaoh's Quest will be a Big W exclusive, as I don't live close to one. This is the first time that I know of where an entire line is exclusive to one retailer.
  9. Well, I personally look forward to information about future sets. I'd rather speculate on confirmed information than hope that rumours are true. As for Star Wars though, I normally buy all sets that I can afford anyway, so the only disappointment comes from the sets I won't be able to buy.
  10. I guess you're right there. The Ancient Greeks and Romans might be a bit too "civilised", for lack of a better word, and they won't work as well if the theme continues. Sure there are plenty of things from mythology that could be great sets, but if there are any more waves, then they will probably appear later on.
  11. Nice review! Looks like Vader has a new face print, which is nice. Updated Han face is also nice, and Luke also looks different. The price is way too high for me, though, so I hope we'll see these minifigures in smaller future sets.
  12. That's a good point. I think Ancient Greece would be a good location, but it is too close to Atlantis. Maybe Ancient Rome or China?
  13. Hmm, I thought Dengar actually had a new headpiece or something. The face print is nice, but the white headwrap from the Prince of Persia would probably be better off.
  14. Interesting. I already own Guido now though, so I'll be skipping this, even if it is available here.
  15. Nice! Certainly a great display model, and probably one of the few instances where I actually would keep the box.
  16. Hmm, interesting. There are some nice pieces, but obviously the main reason I want this is the minifigure, though it's not that special. Still, the line looks interesting. Too bad it's not available here, or at least, not available in stores as sets.
  17. Well, I own the Sith Infiltrator and Podracers now. The Sith Infiltrator is a bit more "unfinished" than I thought, especially on the sides of the body. Back on topic, I've just realised something about the Hoth Base set. Since the two halves are hinged, you can either make it a complete room or a corridor! That's pretty cool.
  18. Nice find! There are some uncommon pieces in there, but it's probably going to be too costly, so I'll pass. The skeletons' helicopter is quite nice. The skull cockpit looks a bit blocky so it looks more like a rock monster or something, but that's fine. On the other hand, the set itself is starting to look too big for my wallet. I hope this is around the $100 mark, or I might have to start crossing sets off the list. Edit: I forgot about the official website. Apparently, it's $130... I'll probably regret this, but goodbye Skull Truck set. Another edit: Ninjago is continuing next year, eh? I hope it won't be nearly as costly as this year will be.
  19. I didn't notice that Savage Opress had torso and back printing! Considering he also comes with armour, that's really unexpected. The stickers are a shame, especially with those printed slopes, but oh well...
  20. Interesting. I don't really like the old version of the HQ set, but it could definitely be modified a bit and released as some other set. The Mothership and the Abduction ships look great, though. I would have preferred if they kept this look. While the ships are still colourful (so many transparent light blue axes!), they retain a more realistic look. The Mothership appears to be taking up less space in this version, so it doesn't look as empty. Edit: pun not intended. I meant the space between the curved rail parts and the cockpit area.
  21. Hmm. The Geonosian Fighter and the Sith Interceptor look much improved, but the Naboo Starfighter looks the same. It might actually be a little worse than the original because of the rear.
  22. Wow, nice! The details are amazing. The Sandcrawler looks exactly like the real thing, and the textured look on the exterior is really well done. Great work! Edit: it even has motorised functions? That's really something.
  23. Wow, that looks great! Well, not that great, but it's got nice minifigures and it's smaller than expected. If it was Battle of Endor-sized, I wouldn't get it. Now it's a definite possibility though. I wish I had the other Echo Base set to go with it. I don't think K3PO will be in another set, unfortunately. Interesting to see the new speeder style being applied to the Snowspeeder (the long piece at the hood).
  24. Somehow, that doesn't look like the safest way of holding it. Looking at the fast-motion sequence for the Podracers, are the long tube pieces rigid in that shape? I didn't think it would be bent like that.
  25. Nice review. Though the characters are great, the building itself doesn't seem enough for the price tag, so I'll skip this set.
