  1. Hmm, this new update is interesting. I was hoping for a minifigure theme and a move away from stereotypes. This already sounds excessively "girly" if minifigures aren't actually present in the theme. Assuming the information is right, the attitude towards this is wrong. A subtheme of City with pastel colours (but applied sparingly) and with more female minifigures would have been fine, and it would also be somewhat unisex as it's another expansion to City, but just slightly more girl-orientated. Disappointing news, but I hope new pieces or colours would probably make up for it.
  2. Ah, okay. That makes sense.
  3. Here are some others I made in my spare time. I know the Death Watch are the subject of countless horrible puns, but anyway... "Death Watch" is the most stated qualification in armies and is now considered a sport in most planetary conflicts. The Death Watch is also the name of a popular television show.
  4. Interesting MOC. The sphere adds to the strange environment. What's that piece on the right Clone's helmet, by the way?
  5. That's a nice design. I think the plating needs to be a bit thicker, two studs wide instead of one. It might need to be remade completely, but the Droideka currently looks a little thin.
  6. I've finally found the spare time to make a few of these myself. Apologies if there are repeats, it's been a long time. I always thought Stormtroopers were unfairly dealt with...
  7. Oh, wow! Brings back memories. Nice skins, too. Speaking of which, I've finished what I was working on yesterday... ...The "official" Eurobricks skin! I tried to replicate the logo as accurately as possible, and I think I done okay. I'll post a download link for the skin soon.
  8. Well, the other day I went to Big W in search of Pharaoh's Quest. I was disappointed that they didn't have the Golden Staff Guardians set, but I got the other sets I wanted. Interestingly, I also saw one single Scarab impulse set in Kmart in the same area. Maybe someone left it there or it was stocked by accident.
  9. The idea of an EB server would be nice. I'll work on something in the meantime in preparation for this, if it ever becomes reality.
  10. Well, I play it, which is possibly because it gives me the ability to make what I couldn't in real life (I'm a hopeless MOCer as I hardly have any spare pieces). The "problem" with Minecraft, as most see it, is that it looks too simple and somewhat primitive, but I actually prefer the look of the game. But yes, I've had the game since Beta 1.5 or so.
  11. After staring for a few minutes, you're right. The plastic packaging is a bit confusing. On the topic of the aliens, I think the emperor and cyborg aliens are fairly similar (their heads at least) to grey aliens. I don't think aliens that are actually grey would work as well though, because then the ships would look odd and it would appear too serious.
  12. Oh, I see. I must have missed them. Very nice nonetheless.
  13. Hmm, I hadn't thought of the yellow object being an ice block. It would have made more sense to me as being the piece I linked earlier as a light or signal of some sort, but then a popsicle could also be appropriate here. I've finally noticed the Tauntaun pen! I can't believe I overlooked that so many times.
  14. Maybe it's just me, but I'm seeing one of these: link. Wow, falling icicles? A bit of an odd play feature, but then of course there are also flick-fire missiles as well.
  15. Is it just me, or does that battle pack have ADU minifigures without visors? That impulse is terrible. You'd think they would have more mobility without the walker.
  16. Wow! That's brilliant! You've got to make a series out of this or something. I particularly like the helmet and chest, and the minifig compatibility. Great work!
  17. Argh, they all look so fitting when put together with their partners! It's too bad Series 1 and 2 didn't make it here. Anyway, nice review.
  18. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned, but the Kmart sale starts tomorrow at 6. I was fairly disappointed not seeing the Shuttle Expedition there, I thought they would have stocked up previously. My local Target had nothing of interest. No Mace Windu's Starfighter either.
  19. Oh, wow! The Tatooine one looks really realistic, and the Death Star trench is quite good too. Great work!
  20. Wait, maybe I meant the year before the last... I'm losing track now. Still, I think the release dates are being changed, or have been. As for the boxes, I personally recycle all mine and don't keep them, but I wouldn't buy a set with a damaged box, particularly if it's that expensive.
  21. I got my Lego Magazine today, and the catalogue included did indeed say that Pharaoh's Quest is exclusive to Big W. I guess we don't need any more confirmation on that, though I'm still refusing to believe it. Is it just me, or is the second main wave of sets a lot earlier than it used to be? I remembered last year's Star Wars sets came out in September, but this year's has been out for a while now.
  22. I agree. There's a focus on vehicles and starships for obvious reasons, but there are also many memorable scenes that could become medium sets or even larger playsets. The area included in the Super Star Destroyer could easily be a separate set altogether. Interesting to see the minifigs in the Hoth Base. Han has the new hood mould from Series 5 of the Collectible Minifigures, Leia is updated, and the others are in different variations with the exception of Chewbacca. Personally, though, I think the old hood looked better on Han.
  23. If the Imperial Shuttle is exclusive to Big W, does that mean that the source that Lightningtiger mentioned was wrong, or meant another exclusive? I'm hoping it's the latter, as Target is more accessible for me. And the Shuttle Expedition is $130 after a discount. I'll wait until next Saturday to pick one up. Even though I have the smaller shuttle, this looks like a good opportunity to get a nice set.
  24. Wow, the Space Shuttle for $130 sounds pretty good. I have the smaller City version, but I wonder if I should get it, though that might ruin my Alien Conquest/Ninjago budget.
  25. I completely agree. Collectible minifigures were good to begin with (though the first two series basically didn't make it here), but they are a rather large drain on money for sets. I'm close to finishing my series three and four collections, but it's a rather expensive obsession.
