Finally got the time to finish off a few. If you've been wondering about becoming a Stormtrooper, you may want to rethink your career opportunities. The Republic either have very skilled pilots or very bad bomb defusers.

Maybe I'm missing the mark completely, but I thought it was going to be something from the Original Trilogy. Another thought... since the battlepacks are now split into factions, could we possibly get two sets of battlepacks for the two main waves? Buying both the battlepacks gives us four different factions, but at the cost of extra minifigures. If there were two sets of battlepacks, they could release the other half of the two battlepacks, e.g. the first wave has two Clones and battle droids, and the second wave has two different clones and droids.
-
Interesting. It sounds a bit like they might be going with the Ninjago approach with individually packed figures, but personally I really hope they don't do that. "Things that are supposed to be put on a shelf" might indicate small models of some sort. As for the battlepacks, in the case of the Clone one, I'd prefer it if they left out the droids for obvious reasons. I hope the ARC trooper isn't just a regular clone with gear, and the ARF isn't the same as the one we got in the other battlepack. I'm fairly happy about the Endor battlepack though, because I am short of Scout troopers and I don't own any Rebel soldiers.

I hadn't thought of it that way, that's a good point. Collectible minifigs would be a hassle if you're trying to get a full collection even if these figures did go that way, as there are multiple unrelated characters that are pretty much independent from each other. Of course, Hulk would also be a problem to cram into packaging.
-
Well, at least I'm not alone. I haven't even heard of that before. I'm still trying to work out what this means. The Empire either relates to The Empire Strikes Back, or the actual Empire. Somehow, I don't think Jabba's Palace fits in with the Empire hint, though I would like one either way. A rerelease of the Sail Barge would also be great.

I don't know, I like C-3PO. His paranoia is quite entertaining, and I think he makes for a good character. I don't really see what's wrong with Jar-Jar either, though maybe I'm not harsh enough. Wow, that's amazing. By the way, I've got a few submissions but I haven't found the time to upload them. I'll try to get some in tomorrow.

Hmm... interesting. I wonder if this hints towards something more obscure. After finishing The Force Unleashed, I've been disappointed that there weren't more sets released on it. I also have to rebuild my Rogue Shadow. There are a couple of vehicles that appear in the game that I think could make nice sets, like the AT-CT or the Imperial Dropship. Anyway, I guess that might be a bit too obscure. Jabba's Palace sounds nice, but I'm hoping for something else first.

Maybe it's just me, but I like the Clone Wars Clones (as in, the animated series). All they'd really need to do is perhaps change the face print. The oversized Super Battle Droids in the series were always a minor annoyance of mine, though the minifigure versions still remained the usual old style. I don't really think it's necessary for a completely new mould or torso print. On the topic of the TIE's wings being too thick, it's fairly difficult to fix. The light grey pieces that make up the border of the wings are a stud wide, and it would be hard to substitute that while retaining the overall look from all angles.

Small LDD contest - [FINAL RESULTS]
Delta 38 replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Quick entry: Alternate angle and LDD file. (Yes, I have two separate accounts.) Mini-scale cruiser thing. Also, my first LDD creation and entry! -
Nice! The shape works well, but maybe some more black or dark grey would be better since it's an Imperial ship. I also noticed that the ship kind of resembles a crosshair, which is a nice addition.

Yay! Interesting to finally see a head print on a helmeted figure. Though I don't like it that much, it could be useful. The Astromech seems to have the same body as R2-Q5, but the new head more than makes up for that. The only thing that really looks odd about the TIE is the cockpit, as it sticks out too much and looks a bit too rounded. That, and the fact that the new TIE Fighter looks more impressive than the TIE Advanced which I already own.
-
Oh, wow. That's very nice indeed. I was just hoping that we'd get a new TIE Fighter after finishing The Force Unleashed the other day. If those four minifigs are included with the TIE, that's great. Amidala looks great too, and it looks like she gets a new skirt piece! Exciting news.

No, but I may end up passing them for this. (Well, obviously not. I can't possibly do that, but anyway...) I just had a thought. I'd like to see a normal-styled version of Hulk, because isn't he meant to increase in size? We might have a transformation set of some sort that includes both minifigure-size Hulk and the larger one. I'm also warming up to the oversized Iron Man helmet, but the chin area still seems too big. If they moved that down, I would be okay with a large helmet. Edit: wait, does Iron Man's helmet open up like that, or is that just for promotional purposes? That's a nice feature.

This is great news! I was just wondering about Spiderman myself, as I also missed those. I think I'm more excited about this than next year's Star Wars sets, which really says something. I'm not a hardcore fan of Marvel or DC either, but this is really great.
-
I agree, I was expecting Batman but instead we have the whole lineup! I like all of the figures, though some could do with work. Iron Man's head is oversized, but I guess that's not too bad. The Hulk needs improvement. Seems that I was wrong about the "buildable figures". That's nice, but I'll only be getting Iron Man because he's the closest to the actual character. Thanks for the images though.
-
Gasp! We have an image after one day? This is seriously great news. I wonder whether there will be "classic" minifigures, like the older ones that were based off the animated series. I think "buildable characters" refers to test minifigures that people are allowed to assemble and/or take. Apparently this is a good decision, as I'm typing this there are 73 people reading this topic.
-
Ooh, that's very nice. The Technic parts don't detract from the actual model, and the overall look is quite elegant. Definitely a great display piece.
-
If this is confirmed, then wow! This is really great news. I completely missed the Batman sets and I realised how good they would have been after playing the video game. The line "playsets and minifigures" is interesting though, sounds like this may be similar to Ninjago and the collectible minifigures with individual minifigures in packages.
-
Wow, that's a rather odd coincidence. Maybe they couldn't replace the skirt and threw in the head as an apology. Interesting piece though, I guess you're lucky considering the head is only in the Black Pearl set.
-
Argh, I hate that. My Snowspeeder and some of my other vehicles aren't very nice as their stickers are detaching from the sloped pieces. Is there a specific reason why the slopes have the grained texture? It's rather annoying for stickers. Anyway, nice to see a double-sided head for Luke, but he doesn't really look injured enough. Ah well, it's still a good addition. The medical droid's colours don't match, again! The Tauntaun modification is somewhat annoying too, I don't think a tail really would pose much of a threat. Overall, fairly nice set, I think. Looks like this may be the first "interior" set I'm going to buy.
-
Hmm, interesting. Not that different from what we've seen already, though. I like the black colour scheme, maybe more than the QAR's. It looks (for lack of a better word) much cleaner with one uniform colour. The minifigs are nice too, but it's odd that Jack is included without his tricorne. Edit: just noticed on the box: "this ship does not float".
-
While those look good and are probably more accurate in shape, I prefer the back half of this MOC. I've never really liked technic parts used for legs in walkers, which is probably my main problem with the newest AT-ST version. Overall, nice design, though it could do some work at the front.
-
Wow, this is definitely one of the better models. I originally mistook those clear pieces for windows as stickers or printing (though I guess those won't be present in an Architecture set), and the bricky look works really well. That dark red is also rather nice. Edit: is it just me, or is the red very different from the actual building itself? It's great, either way.

REVIEW: 2508 Ninjago BLACKSMITH'S SHOP
Delta 38 replied to pikafunk's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hmm, the new map is nice. I still think the chimney looks a little odd though. Nice review. -
Hmm, a new wave would be good as it would open up the opportunity for new alien variants. The current wave could be seen as the "strike force" of the invasion, so more heavily-armed vehicles and even bases would fit quite well. Given that the closest thing we have to a human base now is the Earth Defence HQ, it seems like the ADU are pretty underprepared for an invasion, so the story could easily be continued. There should be at least one more wave.
