  1. Love the hi-rez pics! The Castle is great with a wonderful selection of mini-figs and that Hogwart's Express Train set is awesome(like that they added the Weasley family auto). The 2 winners in the line.
  2. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing...looks to be a great, fun set for my kid (and me to play with...;).....but I'm hoping it's around $60bucks U.S. since I quickly counted it to be around 660+ pieces, which I fear will bring it to the $80 dollar range or higher seeing how Lego is pricing lately...
  3. Great review with nice clear pics throughout! Love those Alien/villian mini-figs(isn't Jawson's head awesome!) and the horizontal sliding door is a very cool feature as well as the control room with lot's of details I like and the truck looks good too! With all the negative's everyone gave the Alien 'space bike' on the Max Security Transport set, looks like LEGO took that to heart apparently and upgraded that design here with this villian's space bike. I like the improvement
  4. Very cool second wave! Standouts to me are the Spartan and the Egyptian Pharoah(love that snake staff). The the poncho and hat on the Mexican plus the extra heads on the Mime and the trophy for the Karate Dude are nice accessories. Looking to pick up the Spartan, Egyptian, Vampire, Witch, Archeologist Man and maybe the Karate Dude...that little trophy is neato!!!
  5. Great work! Love all the details and that big smiley faced mini-fig cracks me up....he's like 'LOOK EVERYBODY I GOT A JUMBO CROISSANT!!!' Plus the artist and his easel and palette made me smile...well done all around.
  6. Good review...but it's basically the same model as Anakin's and Asoka's starfighters. I like the ejector seat feature and the clip to hold the lightsaber (I did that already with my Anakin's ship when it first bought it...gotta have some spot for those lightsabers...the kid's will lose them for sure..;) PS...I like your bedspread.
  7. Great pics and review! Don't have a SnowSpeeder so this is a must set for me. I like the Wampa and the cave but wish the cave had more depth/parts and the SnowSpeeder had more details and maybe it should be a bit larger vehicle. Not sure of the retail price in the US is but I'm hoping it's around $25-$30us. Also, is it me or is Zev and Luke just seem like generic minifigs. What distinguishes Zev and Luke here? Makes it seem like the Hoth Battle pack with Zev was silly. If he's gonna' be here with his SnowSpeeder (makes sense) why was he at all in the Battle Pack? Why not just have another Hoth rebel instead.
  8. Excellent building! Love the color scheme too. Do you make any diorama's of Marvel heroes? This looks great. Inspiring me to build a Marvel setting.
  9. Just FANTASTIC! I like the outside, front and back but the interior really sold me. Love the details of the oven, counter, fridge/food storage(?), etc....the seating looks great and I like the ceiling fan. Great stuff. Must've been loads of fun to design and build. Does the oven open? I see a technique pin/piece/lever to the right of it?
  10. This model is a beast! Love it! Tremendous details (especially the underbelly). Wonderful, accurate proportions. A true Lego Masterpiece! Somwhere mentioned before(?) would there be instructions and parts list for this? I would be very interested. Once again, a great model...a work of art!
  11. Maybe I'm getting old and don't know the new 'lingo' or shortcuts the online kids are saying. But forgive me, what does this above sentence mean?.."I'm series first and last?"...wha???
  12. Ahhh...just an awesome looking helmet for Boba Fett. The chipped paint is such a nice detailed touch. Definitely gonna' get this new Slave I. Anyone know the retail price of this yet?
  13. Nice comparison photos in the review. Really helps me since I don't have any off the original Ninja figures. I'll definitely get this for my collection but I really actually like those mini-fig stands alot. Wonder if LEGO would sell those ala carte'...
  14. Beautiful MOC! Just love it. All the details, especially the cascading effect of the center arches. And the bizaar is well done too. Fantastic. Wish this was an official set for purchase...put me down for one!
  15. (Personal story...I know no one cares...but...)Mega Bloks ProBuilder is what actually got me into LEGO. I was a former model builder way back in the day and then my son got a Mega Bloks ProBuilder Helicopter, we had fun putting it together and it was enjoyable. Went to the toy store looking for others and then realized the difference with LEGO and voila'...I was hooked on LEGO! Thank You MegaBloks. Now with Marvel (I'm a big Make Mine Marvel dude)...I'd love if LEGO would get their hands on the license from the comics (NOT the movies). The mini-figs alone are well worth it and I'd be running to the store for the Baxter Building, X-Men's Mansion, the halls of Asgard itself, Galactus' ship...and dare I say...a Galactus maxi-fig!!!
  16. Excellent review! You do such a thorough job with text and good/clear photographs. A well designed set and love all the traps and light up finale'. This would be a good kit to 'mod' into an Indiana Jones Grail Temple. $50bucks U.S. is great nowadays for a license set with 500+ parts and light up brick. It's on my list...;)...amongst soooooooo many others coming out this year.
  17. Wow...great archway! The Dwarf relief is excellent...the beard...the HUGE hammer.... Love it! Love the snow effect as well....just a fantastic MOC!!! Any interior details?
  18. I think it looks great and to build it only using Green Grocer pieces is excellent. Love to see more your interpretations of other sets. I actually like it without so much 'foliage' pieces. Keeps the focus on the tower. And the roof pieces should stay where they are. Makes yours more unique and keeps the top open which makes the tower look more powerful then having it covered.
  19. Fantastic! Great exterior and interior details. I love the bank lobby, safe, and especially the board room. All the details look great and must've been alot of fun to put design and put together. Would love to see a sidewalk and the other side of the alley. Really fantastic work! Now all you need is Two-Face or Joker to make a 'withdrawal'...
  20. Excellent review! The train looks good but could benefit from some chrome pieces.
  21. Ahhh....just LOVE IT! So great the way you matched the rooms from the Death Star. Brilliant work. Best of luck in the contest...so AWESOME!
  22. I'd say no. Being a father and seeing my kid watching shows/movies/games with humans vs. aliens or other creature incarnation, in no way does your child come away with any racist or xenophobic ideas. It's fun, fantasy play. If you're strong in your own values of what's right and wrong...to treat everyone fairly, be openminded...those things you pass along to your child. Games and toys with combat are healthy for kids. Now with that said, games/movies with excess violence, cruelty, torture, multilation, excess gore...those will give your kid's nightmares and disturb them. They need to be a certain age to understand the fantasy from reality especially with video games graphics so realistic. With LEGO Space Police it's good, clean fun. The cops only use freeze rays I believe and trap the prisoners in those neat pods. It teaches your kid right from wrong(stealing, defacing property, etc) actually and most importantly there are consequences for your actions. On a personal note with me and my son, my kid always likes to somehow reform or change the bad guys to come on over to the good guys side. He often puts Lego Joker with Batman to battle crime and loves having Darth Maul come over to the 'light' side and battle the Emperor. With Space Police he loves putting Squidman on the side of the cops.
  23. Have to give LEGO brand of the year...EVERY YEAR! But, if you have young kids, Leapster is hard to beat. With the different cartridges targeting 3, 4 and 5 year olds, it helps with Math, spelling and reading. Hmmm...thinkin' about it, then maybe it'll get Parent's Choice then...ok, I've switched...LEGO in a sweep.
  24. ....ummmm...'cause it's an Atomic Bomb blast. Key words...Atomic Bomb. You know with the MOC, maybe add the mushroom cloud in the distance. That would look cool.
  25. I've always wanted to see Marvel Universe characters. Galactus and Galactus' ship would be tops on my list, as well as Xmen's Mansion with a Danger Room. Also, I've been craving a Lord of the Rings Lego for awhile now. I wanted sets like Helm's Deep, Mount Doom, the Corsair ships...man, just about every ediface and scene for LoTR I'd buy.
