I'm with ya' Blondie-Wan. I was hopin' to see some Indiana Jones BUT, this is only Brickipedia news for roughly the first quarter of the year. And when the next Indy movie comes out to tie that in, then I'm sure we'll see kits. I was hoping 2011, but I think you mentioned before, speculation says the movie might come out 2012? But at least we know LEGO will sign again with Lucasfilm, so that kinda' gives Indy hope...crossin' fingers...

I couldn't find where to buy them off of LEGO.com. Seems it's all pdf. files dating back to sets from 2002. I don't think they sell the original set booklets. I could be wrong, but I couldn't find where to buy them off of Lego.

Thank you so much for NEVER FORGETTING the WTC. An amazing tribute and awesome build. Thank you for your skill in building and for a wonderful tribute and reminding everyone to 'never forget'. It's a shame that many have, and some New Yorkers to their incredible shame have. As a New Yorker, born, bred, live will never forget. Thanks Rob.

From Wookieepedia....AT-ATs were typically deployed for ground assault from orbit by large dropships. Walkers stationed within larger warships, such as the Executor-class Star Dreadnought, were delivered to planetary surfaces within Incom Y-85 Titan dropships, capable of carrying four 22.5-meter AT-ATs. Smaller ships, such as the Imperial-class Star Destroyer, deployed single walkers via the Theta-class AT-AT barge. Other designs, including the Telgorn Corporation Warlord Dropship, were capable of delivering a platoon of four walkers. Siegfried posted the pics of the Titan dropship and the Theta-class AT-AT barge. Not sure what the Warlord dropship looks like. Couldn't find it online.

Great looking Midi-Slave I. Very cool ship design. Love to build this and I just read you might post up an LDD file? That's great and thanks so much for doing that. Dang it! Can't get my eyes to make it look 3D... I'll try again later...

Thanks for such an awesome review Rufus! Excellent photo's throughout...a pleasure to read your entire review....and also thx for showing the differences in the previous Snowspeeders. I just got this set and my son built it last week (lot's of playability) and it's our first Lego Snowspeeder so I always wondered how the others differed. We're also planning on Moding the whole cave to make it larger and adding all the Hoth sets into a large diorama. After I got this I thought they should've had the Snowspeeder with the Echo Base set and the Taun Taun here. Or at least have added a Taun Taun with a piece on it's belly to snap open and fit a mini-fig. Oh, also...I didn't have trouble with the lightsaber 'telekinetic' launcher. What makes it easier is that you make sure the hilt it ALL the way in (insert joke here)and keep the launcher level(parallel to the ground), then snap down quickly. It works like a charm. Again, thx for a fine review...

Another great thorough review. Cute all around! Not too crazy about the mini-figs (of course Santa the nudist is fun). Those little micro toys are excellent and the little scenery models are fun too (except for the Snowman...looks awkward to me). I'm gonna' pass on this though. I think there's a new Castle theme Advent Calendar coming out that I'd like to check out instead.

Fantastic 'killer' Robot! Love the details on the 'bot (the machine gun arm looks great) and that smashed wall outline is excellent. Brilliant action. Really comes alive...not a static moment in it.

Looks very cool but is it for retail sale? Couldn't see prices for it or dimensions. But definitely fun for a kid's room. EDIT...never mind on the dimensions, just saw it but no prices (unless I missed it).

Looks awesome and you've captured the whole look based off of the comic book reference. Just excellent. Any more pics of interior or other details?

REVIEW: 8684 LEGO Minifigures Series 2
LegoDad42 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
WOW....what a well detailed, comprehensive review! Love all the pics which were outstanding. Thanks for such a great overview. Really helps me decide on what I like and dislike about the figs (mostly LIKE!)... Thanks for doing all this. My only quibble, I wish the gold finish you see on the Pharoah's head dress would also be on the snake staff. -
Excellent MOC! That turret weapon is great and detailed, the trench is spot on and the Snowspeeder is sweet! Love to see how you tackle Hoth on a larger scale.

I started my kid on the Imperial Dropship and the Rebel Scout Speeder...so to me, any and all of the BattlePacks are great for a start(nice smaller vehicle they can hold in their hand, swoosh around and have fun mini-figures to play with. A highlight for kids). They won't overwhelm them at first...gives them a fun easier build so they get more involved with the building so Mom/Dad don't take over the building process too much. You can be the supervisor and of course make sure the pieces are tight and proper on the models. These smaller models are good because they don't come apart so easily with play and are easy fixes if they do. I suggest DON'T get big sets at first. Build(no pun intended )up to them. Also, purchase a couple of baseplates and an assortment of Pick-A-Bricks so your child can build his own settings to go along with the Battle Pack figures and vehicles. It'll spur the imagination better and they'll have more fun instead of a larger set in which you'll probably do most of the work. Here's my suggestions... Imperial Dropship Rebel Scout Speeder Echo Base Clone Walker Battle pack Assassin Droids Battle pack Rebel Trooper Battle pack Snowtrooper Battle pack Hoth Wampa Cave Luke's Landspeeder Corporate Alliance Tank Droid MagnaGuard Starfighter and X-Wing Fighter(I put these on the list, if you go with a larger vehicle because once built these two vehicles are sturdy and hold up to play. Always show your kid where to 'hand hold' the model so it wont' come apart and have lot's of fun swooshing and playing).

I never had a problem buying bricks or discontinued sets off of eBay. You first have to read the descriptions very carefully so you know exactly what you're getting. Also only pick sellers with photos and if not sure, email them to send photos, ask specific questions if not sure, etc. Second, read the buyers 'feedback' to see if he has a 100% rating or close to it with many satisfied customer comments/feedback. Third, I use PayPal only...so if I get stiffed, which happened once (not with LEGO but on something else). Paypal refunded me the money. So NEVER send cash or check. Then once you found a seller that's good to deal with, I stick to a few favorite sellers and have continued, honest transactions.

A re-introduction to the Community,
LegoDad42 replied to Brick Miner's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Loved checking out your portfolio. I like how you stylized your mini-fig drawings. Great look for them! Best wishes getting a gig with LEGO! -
GREAT Mod! I love the added armament throughout, the bottom halves of the bubble gunner stations...much more interior room is great....all around, beautiful 'fixes'. I always admired your Jedi Starfighter 're-designs'. You have a great sense of the proper proportions and 'missing' details from the original kits. Oh, also love those graphics on the stickers. Do you design them yourself? Excellent picture documentation as well. Love looking at all of it...

Love these small size Vigs! The explorer/archeologist has so much imagination with a basic and great looking set up. I wonder if you're headed in a direction by 'bridging' these Vigs. as a man traveling through various terrain, over years to finally end up at a temple or tomb of some sort and a greater/larger MOC awaits?

Love this version! I'm assuming this is mini-fig scale?

Looks good for a party for $60.00 U.S., with the 10 nice mini-figs which I've never seen before (birthday shirt Max?)which is a $20-$30dollar value on it's own. In comparison for parents, I did a party earlier this year. I got a birthday party kit(BEN 10) with a lot of stuff(8 invitations, 18 balloons, 1 larger mylar balloon, 16 plates, 16 forks, 16 cups, spoons, napkins, very nice Ben 10 tablecover, 8 activity mats(w/puzzles on them, coloring, etc), a Ben 10 centerpiece, candles, 3 curling ribbon rolls, 3 rolls crepe paper, 8 gift boxes w/goodies-stickers, slime, crayons, small coloring book, Ben 10 mask, and a disk launcher) for $75.00 bucks for 8-10 kid's. I then purchase 10 mini Star Wars models (the X-wing and Republic Attack shuttles from Target) at $3.50 each for an extra goodie for the little ones. So for parents, you make the call as to what's a better deal for your kid's party. I think if I bought the party items from my local Party Supplier shop, I would've saved a little more. So do the math on it for your own party and see what's a better deal. Now for the AFOL, the 10 mini-figs are nice with an exclusive brick as well to add to your collection (or just get the single figure ala carte when they're made available on Bricklink or eBay I'm guessing).

Ahhhh...very romantic... I like this vig alot! I never had any of the Spider-Man sets so I've never seen the LEGO version of this. This is great. I wonder...if you can get/make a custom Spidey head with the mask partially off?
-
Great review on an awesome set! I got this back in early with a free Classic Spaceman mini-fig/magnet. Just a great model. The satellite, the payload arm and retractable landing gear are nice features. This is an excellent display piece. If they could've done it and kept the price decent, I would've liked to have the mobile platform and/or tower to go with this. Finish off the whole set magnificently. Hopin' to see more of a 'NASA' line of kits...Apollo rockets, capsules, rovers, etc.

Ah, right. Maybe to hold the top removable section, I can use 'jumper' plates instead so they'll hold the top portion but be easy enough to remove to get into the tomb. I'll try that. Thx! I'm working on expanding on the Home One Mon Calamari set with a duplicate of the Tactical Room added to the right of the Hanger Bay but make it a playful 'lounge' area for the pilots just for fun(jacuzzi, bar, etc.) and a MOC of Indiana Jones' Map Room scene. There's been a few of these I've seen but I wanted to take a crack at it. And, it'll take a long while, an Excaliber movie scene of the Round Table (need to get lot's of chrome armor for this)... Thanks Delta38, Def., BatBrick and Lightning Tiger so much! Means alot coming from 'veteran' Eurobrick masters such as yourselves.
