Still waiting for some iconic scenes from Lego on this. First off, they need to make a young Indiana Jones from Crusade mini-fig with Scout uniform(with a Cross of Coronado accessory), then also a train set with the giraffes, the rhinos car, lion's car, etc....all the way to caboose with the magic escape box. Then they must do the last scene...would be alot of fun ala' Temple Escape...you have the 3 major traps and then lead to the holy grail temple and a must have Grail Knight figure. Lego...us Indy fans need these ASAP...;) Oh, also I forgot....must make the tank scene...a must. Crossing fingers they'll get on that soon.

SW-SET 7754 FIGS MISSING! Home-One Mon Calamari Cruiser...
LegoDad42 replied to Dennimator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Excellent! Good to see you got your figs! Isn't their customer service great. How long did it take to get your figs from your request? Mine took about 2 1/2 weeks for 2 missing figs. -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
LegoDad42 replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm a relatively new collector but I feel the 6212 X-Wing Fighter is just a perfect vehicle...design, build...looks fantastic at any angle (opened or closed winged) ...and the price is right on it. -
Awesome model and thorough review! Just fantastic. Love all the details. Can have a lot of fun moding up the interiors too. The only thing that bothers me is with such a wonderful, detailed set...why couldn't they just put in 4 more cannons (plus 2 more ammo boxes)? If you're gonna' go all out for a commercial kit...go all out. Gotta' get this kit asap! Question, are those cannons easy to find? I'm new to the Pirates line.

Great looking pics for your review. Excellent. The model itself is very lacking. Too simplified compared to the original design it's based off of. TLG could easily have made it a more detailed build. Plus the price is too high even for a licensed piece. $20buck US tops. TOPS!

Nice work space. Maybe get a small portable heater and a small airconditioner and you're good to go! And get rid of that plant...that's valuable display space for your models...;)

Does Lego Purposely Increase Piece Count?
LegoDad42 replied to Skull-Mark_Ladybug's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I suspect that the designers have to work within a budget for each model they're assigned to design. If they can add more pieces, it'll add to the build while not going over budget, while conversely they might build a kit and then management can tell them to cut back on some to keep it within a price point that's profitably for them. It's design, parts, weight vs. shipping, sales and profits. The use of bright colored bricks (again I supsect)is to help builders recognize and see the different parts of the build for clarity. Remember that 99% of these items are for 6, 7, 8 years olds to like 14-16 years. Any help with a young builder and ease frustration leads to them getting more kits (ie:sales). On a side note, price-wise, I always thought Lego should decrease the box size to help with prices. I undestand a larger box and graphics help sell the item better but I think as far as weight, shipping it could help get prices down a little . I see most of the models I buy and I'd say a third to a half of the box size could be reduced easily. -
SW-SET 7754 FIGS MISSING! Home-One Mon Calamari Cruiser...
LegoDad42 replied to Dennimator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
NO worries gentlemen....about 3 weeks back I got the Agents 4-Wheeling Pursuit with no mini-figs in a sealed box with sealed bags. I went online to Lego, filled out a replacement parts form for the missing figs. I also had to describe in writing the specifics. I JUST got the mini-figs 2 days ago, no charge to me from Lego. They actually forgot one small 'wig' piece for the villian and I called them up...they were pleasant and professional and will send the 'wig' piece to me in about 10 days. I'd say call the Lego people directly and tell them your situation. And I'm sure you'll get your figs with no problem. -
Hey Guys...to follow up, I went online to let Lego know I was missing the mini-figs from my Agents set (8969) about 2 and half weeks ago, and I just received my missing Agent Chase and Dr. D-Zaster. Now, they mistakingly forgot to include Dr. D's hair piece (evil wig) and instead gave me another Agent Chase's wig. I called them up and their customer service is fantastic, thorough and extremely pleasant. They corrected the order and will be sending me out the wig piece to arrive, roughly, a week and a half from now. Great customer service. Now as a customer, it really makes you feel good that if you purchase a piece and anything is not right, they'll do their best to correct it. MAKE MINE LEGO!

Shoot an email to the ChromeBricks.com guys outta' Germany before you go ahead. They should have some expert advice you're looking for.

I like both equally. I was big into traditional model building kits with glue, paint, decals...attaching motors to tanks...love buidling WW II battleships, etc. Then I got into Lego many years later with my son. Great to build kits together and have lot's of fun and spend time. What I like to do now is modify the Lego kit's we put together...adding more elements, building things larger, making them look nicer with chrome bricks and even trying to improve on what Lego already did with any particular set. Combining 2 smaller sets to make new vehicles with Star Wars kits is a good challenge and a lot of fun to do.

Is there a Dwarf and or Troll Battle Pack review? I can't seem to find it. Thanks...

That would be great but it most probably only sell well here in the good ole' USA. We've had the Statue of Liberty. the Wild West theme and right now we get some nice looking US landmark architecture (Frank Lloyd Wright house, Guggenheim, Empire State building, etc.). Like someone mentioned above a US landmark series with Mount Rushmore would be awesome, the Capital Building, Golden Gate Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge...and perhaps a nice set idea is have a kit showing the signing the Declaration of Independance mimicing the painting by John Trumbull(?). Still would love to see a WWII theme showcasing US GI's kickin' butt, Spitfire's, Zero's, the great Battleships, Panzer, Tiger and Sherman Tanks, the Maginot line with German mini-figs running past it, flying fortresses....I would love it!

Lego should base a whole castle themed-line on King Arthur. You have Camalot itself with the round table...Arthur (of course with Excalibur) and Guineverre, various Knights as Battle Packs plus a Lancelot set fighting Arthur over a bridge, Merlin's with an alchemist type lair, Morgan Le Fey,her minion, Modred and of course create a set, castle, etc were the Knights can find the Grail. Make the sets seem like to have to purchase each one to follow a storyline towards the Grail. That could shake up the Castle theme a bit with something fresh and crossing historic/literature.

REVIEW: 7078 King's Battle Chariot
LegoDad42 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Love the pics in this review. Excellent. And the figs look great. I just picked up the figs offa' eBay ala carte... ...but the design for this 'chariot' looks awkward. Not as creative as it could be coming from the great builders at Lego. I think this is a rehash of set 6044? Which looked more like a king's carriage with 2 horses in the front (not sure of the model #). And on top of that $20bucks US is waaaaaaaay too much for only 100+ parts. $15dollars tops...TOPS! What they should've done with this set is not to give the king a vehicle but rather make it a kind of unique battle pack. Deck out the King with chrome gold crown, armor and sword with this same horse (horse with chrome gold armor and helm) and then have the king flanked by 2 or 3 other horsemen (maybe 2 horseman and then a squire). Make it his personal guard...so they also have unique chrome helms with plums, shields, chrome weapons and unique horses also with armor. THAT would've been a winner. Not this clunky chariot (were there chariots in Medieval times?). -
That 'classic-castle' site is a great inspiration website. Lot's of good ideas there. Also, check out some DK books on Castles, Medieval eras, etc. for good reference.

Just great looking mini-figs! Love the creativity...the details...the weapons! The Centaur and that German sniper team have a real professional look. Wish Lego would do a WWII themed line...tanks, fighter planes, army platoons. Also the Psycho fig with the Che-shirt is spot on. Only someone mentally ill would wear a Che shirt...perfect.

Thanks WhiteFang for merging. I didn't realize there was already a thread for this. I also looked into other Lego jewelry and there seems to be a few people doing it much nicer than these kids using sterling silver accents and 14k gold. Much nicer designs by artists Jacqueline Sanchez and many others. The young men's benefit was having famous people wear their designs. Their art seems too awkward and simple BUT, they got a business going so god bless. I wonder if any women on this board wear Lego jewelry.

http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle/fashi...worn_by_ka.html Thought this was interesting when I stumbled on it reading today's Daily News (YES, I still read the physical newspaper...yeesh ) Wonder how far they can take it. Maybe 14k gold lego bricks, sterling silver....platinum...ya' never know.

I'm a new collector (the past year and a half started). I have, roughly, about $1800 worth of sets (18,900+bricks)and about $1700 worth of mini-figs (230+ figs). My most expensive set I have might be The Tumbler:Joker's Ice Cream Surprise (lucky enough to snag it in 2008 for $35bucks but now I see it on eBay around the $200+ dollar range). I'd say anything you feel has value you should insure (but get it accurately appraised/graded). I haven't read all the posts but maybe some or all could be covered under your homeowners insurance? I used to collect a lot of comics and in that industry you can get insurance for your collection and for real valuable stuff you can have your books graded professionally and put into acid free sealed sleeves. On the collector's market these books tend to have a higher value. I think in the toy industry they have a company that professionally grades toys and seals them in an acid free clear container(ala' the comic industry's CGC grading) for like real valuable, carded Star Wars figures, etc.

I have this set. It's excellent! I've seen so many 'meh' reviews I'm glad someone finally appreciated this set for it's features and playability. It's just great to look at design-wise and so many neat details. Great review and love the comparison with the older set. Very cool...

Thanks guys. Yeah, honestly...the tape on the box was the official tape seal you see on Lego boxes and all the bags were brand new sealed. So I was puzzled too. I did get the odds and ends extra pieces but I had all the pieces plus stickers to build the 4 Wheeler and the Helicopter. I contacted Lego via email with the whole description. I'll take the advice if I don't hear back to call and relay my problem to a live operator and hopefully they can send the mini-figs. But other than the missing figs...the 4 Wheeler is great! Love the whole look and independent suspension. The helicopter is hit and miss but still fun. Thanks again guys...glad also to be onboard!

New poster here...hopin' someone can help me out. Picked up set 8969, 4-Wheeling Pursuit. Loved the 4 Wheeler...ok on the helicopter, but after I finished the build, I noticed no mini-fig parts at all. The box was sealed. The bags inside were sealed but no Agent fig or Dr. D Zaster. Has anyone opened a sealed box and found there were no mini-figs. First time for me. I'm a new collector and have roughly 70 sets and it's the first time it's happened. I contacted Lego about it but the only missing parts on their replacement list was the Agents head and hair and Dr. D Zasters head. No body, legs or D Zasters hair. Anyone have this problem and did Lego replace the figs? Any help would be appreciated...thanks! LegoDad
