Definitely Grandpa Max's trailer with all those gadgets and full detailed interior with hidden compartments, weapons. Include of course Ben 10, Gwen and Grandpa Max. Kevin 11's car...with teenage Kevin, teenage Ben and Teenage Gwen. Include in his trunk many of the various objects he touches to absorb their properties. Dr. Animo's (spelling?) Lair. Forever Knights Castle. But top of the list is to have every Ben 10 Alien made into mini-figs. Heroe's and villians as well. THAT would be great. Oh, almost forgot Vilgax's ship.

Right on Blondie Wan about the 'Seal'...meaning those 2 Knights that left the Grail Temple don't get immortality but live to a 'ripe old age'. I was hoping the writers would've tied in that Indy drinking from the Grail could possibly have helped him survive that Atomic Blast or make mentioned for a man of his age, in the movie, healed well from the blast and didn't absorb any radiation. Love that pic of old Indy!

I've always believed that with this scene in the movie, they should've tied in that Indy drank from the Holy Grail. Like they mentioned in 'Last Crusade' the Knights that drank from the Grail died of extreme old age. And we saw that pouring it over a 'mortal wound', instantly heals. Since it's not known how much they (the Knights)drank from the 'cup', with Indy drinking about a cup full...we can take license and say he will live a bit longer than an average male...perhaps into his 90's or a 100 years OR longer..or we can say he never gets sick, ill, no disease, the rads from the 'atom blast' have little effect (no mutated cells, no cancer, etc.)...he heals fast, etc. Fun MOC by the way...

From first to last pics what an evolution. Really nice ship. Love the interior details as well as underneath. Wish those nice details underneath could be seen more or encorporate onto the sides of the vehicle...but overall, a cool looking, nicely detailed speeder. I need one...;)!!!

What do you look for most in a lego set?
LegoDad42 replied to sok117's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Overall design of the set (aesthitics, the build technique, features). Then price vs. these things (piece count and how close it is within reason, unless it's a simply phenominal design with many features (such as the Death Star). -
Yes!!! More Indy sets asap!

Uhhh...just AWESOME! Putting this much time into a MOC with your son is great. Dad of the year...!!! Love all the details and love the technique for the snow against the wall. As a fellow Dad...I've done some MOC's with my son but nothing of this size. Really inspiring. Can I..ahem...borrow some of your techniques...;)? Really fantastic work. Just excellent...

Dr. Inferno's Cargo Train of DOOM!
LegoDad42 replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
LOVE IT! Wow, this looks so great. Anyway to get instruction on this Oky? Really fantastic and a lot of fun. I wish Lego would make a kit like this. -
Ben 10 started off as a cartoon. Young boy discovers a meteor type crash landing and this alien looking watch-like device (the Omnitrix) attaches itself to him. The 'watch' can alter his DNA to become several different aliens, all with different abilities. All the aliens are very cool. Later on you discover that the Omnitrix was originally invented as a universal communicator. Whatever planet or alien you come accross, you can communicate by then becoming that creature and of course can survive in their environment. They then did a live action movie. Now they have Ben 10, grown up to a teenager, with a new Omnitrix with new aliens to transform into. They also made a live action movie of his teenage adventures. I've watch many a Ben 10 with my kid and I have to say the show gets a bad rap. It's not as flashy or convoluted as other cartoons. It has a solid story, character development and sub plots and continuity that carry over from episode to episode. It's actually a well written show and the animation is spot on for it. It's written as if it's for live action. It has great alien creatures(the kids love the uber strong Four Arms, fireblasting 'ala Human Torch' Heatblast, etc), character development, excellent plots and sub plots and continuity. It's a rarity for a kid's cartoon. These particular Lego Ben 10 figures are from the teenage years, called Ben 10 Alien Force(?) I believe.

Obviously this is meant as an easy build action figure for 4-8 year old market. As a parent I like the idea but not the price. My son was big into Ben 10 and for $15 - $20bucks I can get about 3 Ben 10 action figures...and for a couple bucks more the Ben 10 Omnitrix watch which is highly playable with lights, sounds and the mechanism that mimics the one on the show. Which is alot more fun for your kid. $10 would be a fair price for these models. No more than that.

WOW...don't you wish Lego made kits like this. Great work on the snow...the whole composition is excellent. And that nice baseplate makes it a finished piece. Awesome! If you ever make instructions....please share or heck, I'd buy 'em. Really fantastice work...great job!

Favorite themed line for me is Indiana Jones. Even though there's only like 17 sets or so, every single one is a solid kit. No 'meh' or maybe's on it. I have mostly Star Wars vehicles in my collection but for an overall line, there are hit and miss kits. Agents and Space Police come in third. I love the ship and vehicle designs. Most notable on Agents are the Robot and the Mobile Command Center which are excellent, nicely detailed and fun build kits. But again, top to bottom for a line...Indiana Jones is a winner!

I think the set would be a big winner if the limo was bigger/wider and the tires don't seem to go with a limo either. Would've been fun to have a wider vehicle to have a bar set inside and can seat more figures and make a moon roof too.

Does the rules really sound like Risk? I though Risk was territory control, over large areas, continents, islands, etc. Die rolls decide causalties, etc. Troop movement, reinforcements and the winner is decided by a # of territories controlled, or a number of capitals? Cards give you bonuses with reinforcements. I like the idea of Lego Risk, but this doesn't really sound like the game at all. The map must be the over a large area with territories to control. This looks limited.

I'd say go micro scale. So you can have large armies on the board, little vehicles, planes, etc. And the board won't be so huge. Love to see how it turns out.
-
Nice! Lotta' fun! Great looking and love the graphics too Hopefully when Indy 5 comes out, they'll continue the line again.
-
My vote...Grail Temple. A MUST!!! for the last set...BUT, with Indy 5 still a reality as far as I hear, I think they'll relaunch the line then. Crossing fingers. I hear what you're sayin'. I was speculating/giving a lamens view of sales... from a previous post asking why Star Wars is more profitable than Indy (something to that effect). I'm a huge Indy fan but I was looking at the overall line of Star Wars with it's rabid following...the main characters, all the different Jedi, the creatures, etc.(which is a much bigger cast of characters than Indy to pull from, regardless of how popular they are-Star Wars fans collect everything from a line)and kids following with Clone Wars still fueling it. One thing though, according to Brickset, the first 2 years of Star Wars had 34 sets. I think 14 the first year and then 20 the next? Again I could be wrong on that #. Brickset has 34 set between the first 2 years.

I hope your right. Man is that price for real? What store had it for that high? I hope it'll follow the same trend and come down in price. I picked up Vader's ship for $28.99 at Target in New York early last year.
-
Great photos! BUT....man, this is too much of a rip off from Lego. Vader's fighter is just about the same amount of parts and I picked it up for only $30us retail at Target. And this is $20bucks more in one year's time from that ship??? C'mon...clearly to take advantage of Star War collector compleatists. It has a great look but doesn't justify anywhere near the price. $40 is TOPS on this(if that). There are no unique parts or extraordinaire mini figs. Just look at that cockpit...jeeeeez. Not even a decorated tile piece with the abstract electronic pattern on it to put in there. At least Vader's ship had that. I'm assuming by adding the Stormtrooper they feel they put something extra into it. To have justified this ship they should had some kind of flight deck crew for this. Create a couple of new mini-figs for the flight deck crew and some kind of simple platform/ladder for the pilot to climb into the cockpit. Even leaving the mini-figs out, they could've added this extra ladder device...using existing pieces to create a step up for the pilot...then you could say ok...we got like another mini-fig or 2 and about 30-40 more pieces and you can justify the $50bucks. I'm gonna' wait till I see this go down somehow. I hope people don't pick this up so they can cut the price later on this year.

I think 'cause there are relatively so few sets for Indy (about 17 I think?)...while Star Wars has over 200 sets at least(?). Plus with Indy there aren't as many characters as Star Wars. Kids are still into the Clone Wars cartoon. SW has sooooooo many vehicles. It's limited with Indy. Hopefully they'll make the train scene and Grail Temple with traps from Crusade and maybe another set from Temple and Raiders while we wait for Indy 5 and that should help with a video game tie in and see what scenes can be used to create toys.

Thanks Bengun! I appreciate it. I'll look for those and the wheels you mentioned to swap out.
-
Great suggestions Jamtf. Thanks! Maybe i'll MOC one together using a Prince of Persia set and a tan Creator House like you suggested. Would be fun to do! I just love these movies so much I wish they'd make almost every significant scene. We'll see what Indiana Jones 5 reveals. You know, I've never watched the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. I'm wondering what cool, significant scenes can be made from that series.

Look for a Target, Walmart or TRU. Go online and check the zip codes to see the nearest to where you're traveling to.

Beautiful looking model and nice review! I def. want to get this kit even though I think the price is too high. Looks great. One thing...could be my eyes or maybe's there's a distortion on the photo but the droid's printing on the head looks wonky. Like a little warped on the side?

Yeah...and I was thinking....perhaps the Map Room scene. Would be a fun small temple with micro sized buildings to create the Egyption city scape on the floor of the room. Then staff with medallion on it and an Indy and Sallah (spelling?) mini-figs in arabic dress. Could be fun...
