  1. Bluetooth is fine for a few devices. Depending on the size of your railroad empire, Wifi would be one way to go for control a large number of devices in an TCP/IP network. Modules like the ESP8266 with a motor driver are inexpensive compared to DCC modules. I think it is mostly DIY at the moment.
  2. Anything that doesn't fit into the criteria for LEGO Ideas like LEGO underwear, edibiles, etc.
  3. I thought it was Fix It Again, Tony.
  4. Where did you order from? Contacting the seller is the first step.
  5. That wire could be the antenna for the 2.4GHz radio. We have a topic on CADA in our Technic Forum, you can try there : https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/167699-cada-battery-with-4-motor-outputs-and-remote-control/
  6. I suppose there are some corporate perks for the rule makers.
  7. Can you post a link to pictures or videos of your setup?
  8. Well done. Dark green looks good.
  9. NIce, that works well. I do trial by fire too. Larger wattage resistor is your friend like dynamic brakes on a diesel electric locomotive. I guess size does matter.
  10. Maybe, maybe not. One successful product may not translate into a successful theme with follow on offerings. I think it needs to be assessed on a case by case basis. There is wishful thinking and then there is the hard reality of making a business case of it for Lord Business' approval and getting Kragled.
  11. I think you'll have a better chance of people voting for your idea if you submit something that is polished versus low effort. In the submitting your idea you agree to hand over your rights to LEGO. In return you get 1% of sales (I think or something like that) and LEGO can more or less do whatever they please with it if they chose your idea. If you don't want LEGO to "obliterate" your creation, then submitting your idea to LEGO Ideas is not the correct course of action to take.
  12. Depends on how badly retailers and/or LEGO want to get rid of their inventory stock. If it is very popular, then discounts may be hard to come by. There is always double VIP points promos like the one last month. You never know unless you have access to behind the scenes information.
  13. I have the same winter tires. Must be after March 15th.
  14. I think the 7809 will output a lower voltage in relation to the input voltage being below the regulated input voltage range per spec sheet. Example graph from a different linear voltage regulator model.
  15. It still says coming soon April 1, 2020 on our shop@home site. A few more hours until clock strikes midnight and it's April 1st...
  16. Sorry about that, I meant to say "stick everything after the when program starts..." That way it'll run that segment of code in a continuous loop. It'll wait for the button press and do your sequence of steps and then go back to the top of the loop and wait for the button press again. Probably easier to explain in person but that's not happening. Happy Birthday! Have a good one.
  17. 45544 would be more interesting. It has a bigger selection of gears too.
  18. I think you have to stick every after the when program starts block into a loop to repeat the sequence. https://cs.harvard.edu/malan/scratch/loops.php
  19. Good story and build. Kinda spooky.

  21. You can set the sleep timer to "never" on the EV3 for it to stay on all day. For continuous power, you can get the LEGO EV3 rechargeable DC battery and 10V DC transformer. And leave the 10V DC transformer plugged into the battery. Another option would be to make some dummy batteries and connect a generic 9V DC adapter to them.
  22. In one of the interviews with the designers, the LEGO designers acknowledged the monkey was left out and did a sales pitch about using Bricklink for monkeys. Must be fun having to design to a budget set by Lord Business.
  23. 12v to 9v buck converter should work. Some buck converters are adjustable so you can fine tune the output voltage.
  24. The EV3 comes with 2 large servo motors and 1 medium servo motor. There is enough motors for each axis of a plotter. A computer is required to create the program for the EV3 and to upload it to the EV3. Then the EV3 can operate independent of the computer.
