Do you know which sets these minifigures were from? :)
dr_spock replied to morvit's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Which catalogues would be the best to use to identify minifigures? Bricklink.com has almost 8000 minifigs: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&catLike=W&sortBy=Y&sortAsc=A&catType=M -

Most impressive. It makes the HE look tiny.

I don't know, 30 euro seems a lot. You can get various sized breadboards from China through eBay and many of them come with doublesided foam tape. It's possible to stick them on 6x16 plates or 6x8 plates, etc. and then lay them out on a 32x32 or 48x48 baseplate. You can also use hot glue or epoxy if you're daring. Free shipping from China can take up to a month. You probably still can get going faster sourcing components yourself than waiting for the Kickstarter to fund.

That could be an effect of shipping. When the contents of the boxes are subjected to miles and miles of vibrations on the truck, the contents "settle".

My local grocery store has similiar sales technique. It is one way to move slow selling goods or make room for incoming new products or minimize "shrink" on products coming up to expiration date. The store still gets its margin from the non discounted products to help offset the discounted one because you have to buy other things. Also it may not be so good for resellers to get a dozen copies of that set this way.

Interesting interpretation of the Christmas train. Is the water defying gravity or there's a river going through the train?

Here you can start working at age 12 like babysitting to earn money. Most young teens don't make enough to have to pay income taxes. So it's more advantageous to the parents if LEGO made out the cheque to the young Ideas submitter. Finance is not that strange. There are a lot of rules to know and follow.

Thank you. Frogs lose their tails when they grow out of the tadpole stage.

Box size also has to do with marketing. The bigger boxes can grab the consumers' eye on the store shelves. Thinner boxes use less trees or recycled material so it is one of those environment conservation thing. Maybe costs too since you're not using as much material per box. I don't think the majority of people keep their boxes or really care. It's brutal at birthday parties and Christmas the way kids mangle open their boxes and then they end up in the recycle or garbage. Have you tried writing to LEGO customer service or CEO of LEGO? Maybe you can get them to change their ways.
