  1. They're doing the Color of Magic???!! :'-) Wouhouuuuuh!! although I'm a bit scared on how it'll turn out... I'm a huge fan of Terry Pratchett, and while I loved 'Hogfather' (I even created some subtitles, to share the experience with some friends... Not all of them understand english...) but I still think something was missing... It must be his writing that is inherent and as important to the story as the story itself. Part of the humour was left behind... But still...
  2. Well yes, I agree to the canon in the tumbler, but as I recall, it is sleekly hidden somwhere in the vehicle and barely gets out to shoot the missile. And it is not some huge tubular parts stuck on the back of the whole thing that ruins the general shape of it or those little rod on the sides that don't even look like anything. I don't always mind the missile. Sometimes they manage to include them in very good ways, like in the TIE Bomber or the last version of the slave one. and in a lesser extend but still not too bad, in the N1 Star fighter and the first Batmobile. but here, it just looks ugly. So I do intent on removing them (If I get the set, that is... not sure it's gonna be released here anyway, so...)
  3. good job! I don't know much about military aircraft but I find thate very well done. It's got a nice Creator feel to it, too.

Thanks all for the comments I don't really know about that... I kinda like the studs, they give an old style lego build to it I'm rather fond of. And the other reason I wouldn't try it is that I haven't got enough yellow tiles left :'-( That's a neat Idea, I didn't think about that. I'll try it. It definitely shoud make it sturdier. As I said in the first post of the topic, I used an octogonal pillar for the arms and leg joints, and made a similar shape in the arms and legs so they can have different postion and still be locked in place. We can see it well in those pics : for the joints for the hole in the arms. The one in the legs are of similar design
  5. I have just one gripe with that tumbler : Missiles! I wish they'd stop doing those annoying things... And can someone tell me why there is a bat symbol on the side of the penguin sub? Did he steal it from the batcave?? *wacko* But then again, it wouldn't be the first weird thing in that line... I've never quite understood why they put the batsignal in the batcave, for instance... makes it kind of useless, since the only one who could activate it would be Batman and I don't quite see why he would call himself for help :-P
  6. Actually, I like that truck (well, at least what I can see of it :-P ) Somehow it reminds meof the Big black truck in those Mask toys (you know, those vehicles that can be transformed into other more advanced ones, with little figs that have a cool helmet to put on their head) Here, I found a pic : Ooooh the fond memories... :'-) (anyone noticed how hard it is sometimes to find pics of some rather old toys?? *wacko* That was the best I could find...)
  7. wow, that convertible looks nice! And the ship's a great idea. Now we'll be able to cross the Pond to go on a trip to Engand X-D

That'd be nice, yes... But then again, I'd hate to take pictures of it, what with all the reflections in it and all :-P
  9. wow! his buildings are incredible! so huge...
  10. I love the way he did thebackground through the door, gives quite a lot of depth. I'm not too keen on the gore part but it IS very creative indeed.

I finally took the time to order my missing pieces and finish that MOC of mine... Took me some time... First some shots of the finished leg. profile with its original version on top seen up front : and 3/4 vue I tried to stick as much as I could to the original while still keeping the general style of my model. Which was rather hard considering all those holes and tech gimmicks displayed on the original leg... Still, I think it turned out ok. And here it is, Mega One in all its glory! With its original smaller counter part. In the end, my only gripe is the hip joints which are too weak to my taste... The octogonal pillars only hold by two studs, son they fall too easily...I'm thinking of putting a 2x3 plate between the pillar and the middle piece but it kind of ruins the general shape of it... Voil
  13. Wow! by the size of its wings, that V-19 looks huge!! I thought it'd be smaller... I thik I might even have prefered it smaller... Oh well, let's wait and see til we get the set... And that magna fighter looks good. Weird, but good nonetheless... But they're rellay squeezing all the juice they can get from those PT movies, since apparently, that ship only appears for a fraction of a second somwhere far in the background of I don't even know which scene :-P
  14. Yet again, a very impressive work... But not his best one, IMHO
  15. Yes! one of the best games I have ever played. It never ceased to amaze me. Last week, we did a Wii night with some friends, we spent it playing Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games... Now THAT was some serious indoor sports! we played for 3 hours in a row and let me tell you, it really is physical! By the end we were all sooooo exhausted, we couldn't finish the last rowing race :-D ... Couldn't feel my forearms for days afterward X-D
  16. I like the look of that truck... looks really big and impressive. I even considered getting it for a while... (but Lack of spare room talked me out of it...) But WTF!! Torso stickers???! Yuurgh :-X that's a ruiner for me... Do all the ferrari sets have those?
  17. Much better indeed... Just one thing that bothers me, though : how does the driver in the drilling unit know what he's doing? Because everything is happening behind him, so he can't see much... Have you tried putting the control sticks facing the other way? But I don't know how it'd be doable, since I don't own the set...
  18. wow they've got some really cool car design there... I'm not sure about the film, since I don't know squat about speed racer (but I am a huge fan of the Wachowsky brothers, do that counts for sth :-P ) but I really like the way they did those cars.
  19. wow wow wow wow! I love that jungle cutter vehicle! it look so amazingly detailed *y* And I'm defenitely getting that amphibious car, just for those jerrycans (fuel cans? I'm not sure of the word) They're just *wub* *wub* not sure about the temple, though... Might be too expensive, anyway...
  20. excellent diorama, Hinckley. I'm definitely putting it as a wallpaper. Merry Christmas to you too.
  21. Daaamn, i wish I was that lucky... :'-( the closest thing I had to it was a friend who gave me his entire collection of Dragon Ball Manga... He wanted to dump them, saying it was too childish to keep them... But never with LEGO... It's even the other way around : my parents almost gave my collection away behind my back... They did the same with my TMNT collection (but that one wasn't so bad, since they were taking the dust anyway). Fortunately, I stopped them in time for my LEGO. I don't think I'd have spoken to them ever again if they had succeded... But hey! Christmas came early to you! Hope you'll enjoy them
  22. Nice review. I like the look of that set. But damn...
  23. Hey I've ner heard of those UNITRON before... 8-
  24. actually, I really like that Hailfire droid... Ok it's not really on scale (but to be honest, it I hadn't been told, I'd never have guessed, since I've never been able to see how tall it was in the movie) but it's got quite an amount of details to it. and that spider droid received a good deal of improvements over its previous model. All in all it's a *y* for me. I'll definitely get that one.
  25. Maybe they're not. Maybe they're running away from the litle catapult thingy, so they'd have to face it to go the right way :-D
