+1 for Firefly here as well. If you've liked the film without having seen the serie, you have to watch it again after the serie. You'll definitely give it a 6 out of 5 (if not a 7 :-P ) I've just seen Sunshine... I was really disappointed... Maybe I expected too much from it but still... it's been too long since I've seen a good Sci Fi film... :'-( And I saw "the condemned", too... One really has to turn off his brain before looking at it... Or he'll end up wondering what the hell he's been wasting his 2 hours time for... pointless, really... :-D

Hey happy b-day!!! credit to AVCampos for the cake ;-)

Aaaaaah, Started school again, today... I love school, meeting lots of people, seeing lots of other, being occupied all day doing what we love doing (well yes, its college, so it's what I chose to study, not what I have to study)... The only downside is that I have student lodgements during the week and all my Lego are back home, so I can't build untill the week ends :'-( ...

Another thing that I believe was missing in the PT is some sort of of general background consistency. It's almost like each film could be from an entirely different era... I mean, in the OT, the ships remain the same across the three film, so we can relate to them. They even become as important as the characters themselves. whereas in the PT, none makes it into the next film. Worse, one thing I liked a lot about episode II was the fact that the ships seemed to really evolve to the design from the PT, but then, in Episode III it's like they made a giant leap backward but in a completely new direction where we can't relate neither to the PT or the rest of the OT *wacko* And then there are the bad guys from the PT... We don't know anything about them... They just seem to pop out... For Darth Maul it's ok, we understand he's been Palpatine's tool for quite a while, the same way we know Vader has been the bad guy for a long time before the events in epIV right from the first time he appears on screen. But Darth Maul dies before we can know more about him, which makes him a bit shallow in the end. And then we have Dooku that appears. Ok there's been a 10 year gap in between I and II but still, he isn't really fleshed out either... All the more, while we've never seen or heard of him, right after the assasination attempt at the beginning of epII, we have padme rushing in Palpatine's office shouting 'I suspect count Dooku!' but we still don't see any of him right untill half an hour before the end of the film where he seems to be there only to give an excuse to have a (great) fight with Yoda |-/ And finally, Grievous. He was indeed great looking, but I can't think of another more useless villain in any other film... I don't even know what he's doing here... I mean, he's the general of the separatist army. But in epII it's Dooku and he isn't dead yet, so why was he replaced by GG while still there? There's just no point for GG's very existence... (but he was a really great vilain in the cartoon, nothing you could compare to his film counterpart). But it still remains a highly enjoyable saga. And the Clone Wars comics are just great as well. (and I'll try not to start on the New Jedi Order serie which was one of the best serie I've ever read... To be honest, I think I even prefer it to the 6 films :-$ )

very cool indeed. The only thing I feel odd about is the landing gear of the engines. As SW4J pointed out, they do seem a bit weak. but the basic idea is really good. I've been wondering how I could add some on the X-wing and that system seems to do the job nicely.

wow! I didn't even know they had Lego in magic box... And I live right next to the quick in Namur *wacko* Gonna have to go check it out...

But he still went for a PG13 for EpIII |-/

Hinckley felt a bit sad that it couldn't share in the dance so he sent Sinner to go give it some clam cream. But Sinner......

managed to get Hinckley out safely (not telling how, though :-X ) to let him bath in his favourite joys of tapdancing along with the rancor. Unfortunately, the rancor.........

Well, there's always building LEGO while watching the DVD ;-) I can't help doing it... Everytime I'm watching something, after a while I need to put it on pause go get some bricks to fidget with while watching the rest of the film :-D

Viking Dragons for me, too. They're the only reason I bought those sets... And I love the armored one from the later set as well *wub* .

who was bored of having the same whole thing happenning all over again gave them one nasty contempt glance and...........

I've seen Visitor Q a while ago... That was a really wierd piece of work. I picked it up not having a single idea what it was about (I was in some sort of Japanese cinema frenzy at the time...). But I couldn't watch it in one sitting... Some of the scenes were so bizarre I had to take a break... Somehow I can't help comparing it to Requiem for a Dream (even though niether the pace nor the tone of the films are similar)...

What's interesting to notice in episode one is that it's just a summary of the whole OT : -little nobody hero coming from nowhere to a big issue conlict (I don't think we can consider it galaxywide, though, since it's only one planet) ---> Luke on Tatooine/Anakin on Tatooine... -Death of the mentor figure by the bad guy ---> Qui-Gon by Darth Maul/Obi-Wan by Darth Vader... -Big space Battle with a nice explosion of the battle station at the end destroyed by a single hotshot pilot (AND BY TWO TORPEDOES SHOT INSIDE!!) ---> Federation Control ship/Death Star... Ground battle between a "primitive" species against a Superior force both in firepower and technology but they still manage to win ---> Gungan-droids/Ewok-Stormtroopers... -Incredibly fast race ---> Podrace on Tatooine/speederbike chase on Endor... But at least, in the OT, George Lucas took 3 films to tell his story and thus get into all the characters to give them the depth we all know and love... In Episode I, he tries to put too much at once and we can only get a taste of what it could be... But, Episode I did give us Darth Maul. Him alone just makes the whole film all his worth... Unfortunately, we don't know or see enough of him... (even in the EU :'-( ) As for my best in the serie, it's got to be Empire Strikes Back. It has everything. Great visual effects which to my opinion haven't aged one single bit (I even find them way better than all those flashy CGI in the PT, somehow) and a real consistency in the story line that fleshes out both the many characters and the Star Wars universe. And of course, the best and most known ending in cinema history ;-)

Harlequin is a folklore figure but I don't know from which country. Basically, it's a kid who was too poor to buy himself a costume for carnival, so he picked up lots of pieces of clothes in the garbage and everywhere else he could and sewed a costume with lots of different colors from them. So what I'm saying is that I'm gonna try to build a design without taking care of what color I use...

I just got my hands on the Ultimate Edition of Pan's Labyrinth. This is one of the best films I have ever seen. I really love Guillermo Del Toro's work *wub* . He has quite a few visual gems.

I kinda like this set, actually. But then again, I AM a bit of a SW nerd X-D So I want a model of every ship there is in every single panel of every single comic. As well as those from every single book... Yuuhzan Vong POWAAAA!!! Uh, sorry... Unfortunately, I do agree with everyone here : it is indeed waaaay overpriced... I don't think I'll be able to afford it :'-( Even more so if I want to get the RC... Thanks for the review. Yaaay!! NO DSS ON! *y*

I tried to do the chest stud but it felt rather odd, at that scale... A bit blocky, really... But come to think of it, I might try to make it with a technic car wheel... mmmh, needs pondering... I'll try to dig out my really old Duplo... :-P Well there's the problem, really... The legs... I can't seem to manage to get a simplified idea of the original model... (actually, you may notice that the bottom of the stand it's on is a start of one X-D but I ran out of the needed pieces waaay too soon... Everytime I try to build something I seem to NOT have the pieces I want... :-/ I suppose I'll have to make an Harelquin version first and then order the pieces in yellow off Bricklink... I think I may have some of them in red, if I look deep enough... Or maybe I'll have to rip them off the body and arms and then put everything back when I have all of them... How do you guys do when you don't have enough of what you need? Thanks all for the coms

This is the first MOC I'm posting here... It's a bigfig of Meca One I'm trying to build... Obviously, it's still a work in progress because, I seem to have run out of yellow pieces to build the legs. But that makes me an excuse for not doing them, since I'm kinda stuck on their design... Here is a general shot with Meca One standing in front of it. I've tried to do the body piece withe the same color scheme (well without the gold, of course. That's why the yellow ;-) ). here is the original for comparison: The profile : and the original : and a

FireFox. Mostly because of all the plug ins we can install. But I could use anything as long as it's not microsoft. I'm starting to really hate them, lately >:-( ... I'm pretty sure my next computer will be with Linux and frack vista!

I got Vezon and Kardas Dragon, last friday! I thought it wouldn't arrive untill today or tomotrrow but the guy I bought it from was incredibly quick. And he even threw a few bonus sets with it, he gave me two of those 1441 promotion sets that looks like some little orange bugs. So I spent the whole weekend building the different titans and then I took them apart and built Botar and then I took that one apart and Finally built Kardas. I really Like Axonn. I'm not sure about Brutaka, though, his proportions feel a bit off, somehow... Vezon and Fenrakk are ok. But the Kardas Dragon is really great. If I had the pieces, I would have tried to make it in a better color scheme, slightly grittier or something. But overall it's a really great model. I'll try to find another Axonn so I can keep both at the same time...

Bionicle story / character discussion topic.

I wasn't thanking you... Now because of you my favourite hobby (what am I saying... Addiction) is going to cost me even more (I still have to find and get that republic cruiser and Tie Crawler...) :-( Nah, just kidding! I love it. I'm really glad I got it on your advice X-D ... And I even managed to find a Vezon & Kardas set. It should arrive early next week. Now I'm in that period of slight stress after an online buy when it's been paid but hasn't yet arrived... -
MMM, I found the OST of the film Perfume... Really great music. The film isn't much but I love the music...
