loool do you think we could stack them and make giant (very expensive, too) MOC with them??? X-D

But they did have THE best spaceship TLC has ever done, IMHO : the DEEP FREEZE DEFENDER. That ship's just got everything for it... And none of the next big starships came anywhere near that cool...

Nice little plane... But wouldn't the patient suffer from decompression in flight? Seeing the big holes on the roof next to where the rear hatch is conected... (I know, I know, i'm just being picky...) Yay, we've got quite a few... The one I loved most was SpellBinder... *y* but only the first serie, though... The second one was rather annoying with that whinig brat always running along...

8146 Nitro Muscle

but it is in the official catalogue, though... The Belgian one anyway... It says it's due out in august -
I back that one, that was pretty awful too... And to say they even made a video game from that... Twice :-X I can't believe people got crazy enough to buy the first one and proveide money for a sequel... I mean it was supposed to be a racer game but only had one racer (the frog, and without a car) and probably no more that 2 tracks...

Hey! Nice! *y* I've always loved mini models. I wish TLC would do more... The SW minis is one my favourite lines ever... *goes rummaging through his black pieces to build that tank...*

My favourite funniest song would be that one, then : It's inspired by tht Discworld serie from Terry Pretchett (and actually makes the opening of the second animation film, I believe) Otherwise, I love the whole Naheulband repertoire, but I beleive it would only be funny if you understand french, seeing as it's all in what they're saying

Yurgh! How did you survive that???! 8-

Yet another reason NOT to buy the 2007 playsets
yellost replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I agree. I kinda like this year's line... Heck Hydraxon and Maxilos are my first Bionicle sets since the first version of Tahu. And I like that preying mantis look of Takadox but that's about the only one I like in the smaller sets, though, they don't really have enough details like in the big ones IMO... And I still changed quite a few things on Maxilos too.. The hands, mostly, I made them in the same design as Hydraxon's but in Maxilos color scheme. And Hydraxon will remain untouched, I think... Well except for the removal of that blaster ;-) I love the look of Karzahni as well, I may get it if I find one, but that might be hard, since if I got it right it's a TRU and S@H exclusive and I have no way of buying things from either... And the playsets look way more like real LEGO sets than the previous batch... They're much more brickbuilt and actually have an interesting look to them. Except for that weird giant head on the crawler but I think I've already said that :-P -
That would be the Cheeky Song (not sure it deserves the capitalt lettre, though) from the cheeky girls but it goes back a while, now since it rotted my ife when I lived in England between 2002 and 2003... the thing lasts for 3min30 and its lyric can't be more than 10 words in all, repeated over and over on a 4 notes long tune... can't be worse than that, really... Oh no, wait there's that Fast Food Song, which is in the exact same vein... Plus the sick commercial propaganda for all those gross fast food "restaurants"... :-X

Yet another reason NOT to buy the 2007 playsets
yellost replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Of course. I won't stop myself from buying a set which has lots of parts I need just because there's one useless one in it... I bought Hydraxon and Maxilos because they look fantastic and I just chucked the blaster in a bin along with my other squid launcher and all those missile launcher from those Star Wars and Exo Force sets... Ok, I admit it, on maxilos it doesn't look half that bad... but on Hydraxon it's horrid... the color doesn't match at all! I mean it's the only red part on the whole thing... Great Magic of Do-What-You-Want LEGO ON!! -
Here's a trailer I've just seen that interests me : Beowulf It looks quite impressive, considering it's all CGI (yes, even the actors). It uses the same but improved technique as in The Polar Express. Stardust looks promising too, as I love Neil Gaiman's graphic style... I just hope the story will follow, unlike his previous film Mirrormask which was graphically stunning and intriguing but rather plain storywise... same for The Golde Compass. I suppose not having read the book (yet) will help me liking it :-P and another one that seems interesting but I didn't quite get what it'll be about : 10,000 BC

Yet another reason NOT to buy the 2007 playsets

Well, from what I've seen in the short Mahri film they've got on their website, it looks more like your big average vehicle than a creature... But then again, that's as far as I know about the storyline, seeing I've never read or seen anything about it... except for the 3 films but I did'nt quite got the continuity right, I think, since I don't really see the link between the first batch of toa in the first film and those in the second and third... And I may be wrong but I don't think those are the same than the Inika and Marhi either... *wacko* As for the sets themselves, I kind of like them better than the previous ones... Though I still don't like the minifigs... They look way too megablockish for my taste... but the vehicles (or rahi or whatever) seem a lot more consistent... Except for that huge wierd head on the front of the terrain crawler which just look silly with it... I may even get the deepsea patrol, it's got lots of parts I might use for nt too expensive a price. And I love the way they've done the jellyfish :-P EDIT : That on, the other hand, is the most useless part of the sets IMO. Well, at least this one works better than thase squid crossbow thingies or those ball thrower etc... But I find them just pointless. They don't even look like anything usefull. What is it with TLC and those shooting things anyway??? I mean even those old canons in the pirate sets... But at least those looked like canon, so even if you don't use them to shoot things you can still leave them on the boat and they still look good... But everything else they've done in that vein lately looks just plain stupid on top of being useless... -
awesome! Thanks a lot! Now I get why some people cry over the greatness of some prototypes... Look at that graveyard... Though I do love the actual one too (only HP set I've bought...)
-
I was wondering if there existed some kind of archives with pictures of sets in their early development... Because I've noticed it often happens that in a review someone rants that something was done better in the prototype or the other way around but I've never managed to see any (or only a very few)... And of course, by the time I read about it, the set is out or already definite... (The motorised AT-AT is probably the only one I've seen in its before and after stages) After all there're lots of sites that archaive the different sets and parts and everything, so why not the prototypes... Does anyone know anything about such a thing ? (I like those kind of weird sounding sentences :-P )

Honestly, the gift wraping trick works wonders! when I was 13, all of a sudden my parents told me I was too old to play LEGO and I couldn"t receive any anymore (imagine the shock of hearing that!) but I sticked to those I already had and since at 13 I started High school, I was alone on the trip school-house so I often stopped by the toy store... But there's still that teenage crisis where we have to look cool and fit in with the others at school, so LEGO makes you seem weird and you can't be seen buying any. That's why asking for a wraping is good, because, psychologically, it kind of makes you feel better... (well, it did for me anyway). Because it makes you believe no one knows it's for you, even if you shouldn't technically care, since you probably don't know anyone in the shop (lol, maybe most of them are just doing the same :-D )... And being an only child doesn't matter, you can still pretend it's for a distant cousin you haven't seen in years, or the son of the brother of a friend or whatever... After all, people around you can't possibly know EVERYTHING about your familly and relatives... In fact, I found the really hardest part, here, is that you have to pay for everything yourself... Well, I had to, since my parents tried all they could to make me stop... I couldn't ask for any I've never understood why, really... Now they've seen it was pointless trying, so they've just dropped it (Hey, my mum even bought me the Tie Interceptor for my last birthday *wub* ) And ten, as it's already been said, when you get to college, noone cares anymore so you can finally come out again. and enjoy the full magnitude of this hobby! Now, when we go out and come across a toy shop, I ask them to wait a bit, but most of the time they just come in with me... I even managed to convert one of my flatmate :-D And I love the faces people make when I tell them it's for me... But now the shop keeper knows me, so it doesn't work anymore... Besides, not long ago he told me he was gay, so it's not as if he could possibly NOT be open minded... ;-) But I do go to other shop from time to time just for that guilty peasure X-D (but then I feel like a traitor, because I really like that little toy shop... ah, dilemma dilemma)

Say, I was looking at your pics and then at the instructions and I just realised : haven't you put the stikers on the shield thingies in the middle upside down? I think you did :-D I don't know if I like those new sets, though... I mean they have great shapes and potential, but at the same time, they seem so holey... They're really huge and big but full of empty air and space as well... Well, this one not as much, and indeed it is the best looking set of the lot, though... But I don't think I'll go into that line...

wow, you even got two of them 8-

But aren't the clone wars cartoon part of the EU? I was pretty sure Asajj Ventress was... As well as Durge, since they first appear in the comic... I mean, I thought anything that isn't the six films is EU... :-/
-
I think I understand why they put that blue peg in the lower leg... I may be wrong but it seems that it prevents from bending the leg too far forward and thus releasing the axle from its tube in the pneumatic-looking thing on the back... Just a thought, though, since I don't have the set and don't have anything to test my theory... Gosh, the more I see it, the more I want it!
-
That's it! Now I'm gonna have to get it!! I just love those leg design with the pump thingy on the back... And the posability, too... could be useful... great review... and good pics, too... They show really well all the details, good and bad...
-
Loooool I'd love to see Han Solo with his Axe Gravity can and a small Lighter trying to get rid of a stormtrooper... :-D Because of course, the Stormtrooper has a far more powerful one : A Rexonna 24/7 with a match! X-D
-
That's what I find the worst, really... I want one really bad too... And HE isn't even going to OPEN his box!!!
-
That's something I've never quite understood either... I mean, if it's an action figure that you just want to exhibit in some kind of window, sure, why not... the package usually lets you see it without needing to open it, but isn't the whole point of LEGO to actually build the thing? Personnally, just looking at a plain cardboard box is kind of boring... Beside, why not buy it empty, then? it'd be a whole lot cheaper for the same result... Easier to move around too, since it'd be lighter as well ;-)
