Just put two rocket engines on the tank and it would seem exactly like the sort of vehicle a speeda demon would ride. Stormer looks as if they are going to use Hulk's build and include those wings to make him look heroic rather than monstrous (like Hulk). In part it is a good idea to depart from the build used in FL/Rocka/Doctor/BP, because even with BP it is lacking. I also see that friction joints will be used in the legs and arms. The legs look funny, but not as funny as the previous 'titans' and I have the feeling the wings in the arms will look really great in real pictures.

I am hoping for a medium sized guy riding a tank. Why are we commenting on stormer as if we actually had a detailed, non blurry picture? Do we have such thing yet? The one in the video is not enough for me to start making opinions.

The main difference between Brickthing's combiner and the official combiner is that Brickthing's looks like it would be a decent villain if only the color scheme was more stable (and since it is a combiner, the color scheme is going to be unstable). The official combiner resembles nothing... Ok, maybe it could be an odd mix between a table and a cow.

That piece, I really dislike to use it, it makes MoCs look awful because of its plastic in my opinion. If TLG would remake it and use normal, shiny, non-pearly plastic, then it might actually become a good piece, but until then...

Yeah, sorta, I guess.

What are these licensed parts? It is inaccurate to call a part like the weapon handle part a "licensed part" just because it first appeared first in SW under the name "light saber handle". These parts are clearly not licensed parts. NinjaGo uses light sabers just fine without paying to George Lucas. Ame with Droid torsos and tons of themes. Truly licensed parts would be those droid heads or Darth Vader's helmet and they are particularly less useful outside of the license...

You are right, blue was missed, but this set seems not to deliver the blue goodness that one would expect. I just don't get why the need for all that lime. Specially because Breeze and Scorpio already flood that market. This color scheme certainly makes the most sense in comparison to the other heroes in the wave, but that's due to the other heroes' shortcomings. Blue and Lime is not precisely the best combination and it would have been much more useful for MoCs if the shells pieces that are lime in this set were blue. Then we have the "shoulder pads", this style of letting pieces stand out in such a flat (literally) is way too reminiscent of Bionicle toas/glatorian and I think HF could do better. The tube is a nice touch but I am not thrilled about the return of he 1.0 hero weapons. They were awful and HF 2.0 / 3.0 have done a much better job in the weapon department. All in all, this seems to be among the top two heroes of the wave, but that's because of the shortcomings of the other heroes rather than Surge's own accomplishments. I think I'll be buying only villains from this wave, Breeze is the only hero that looks more than 60% good to me but I am not really interested in that much lime right now. This wave with an almost pathologic tendency to include random colors in sets that would have been great without them. I hope the second 2012 wave does not have that issue, but the catalog seems to point towards it with blue chests in Stringer and a white one in Bulk... :/

The legs look very bulky. Almost like what the lazy designer behind Rocka 2.0 would do if he was to design Nebula 2.0
-
Not necessarily, the escaping Von Nebula could be a fake Nebula cause any main villain that has some self-respect has copies of him to go to jail.
-
I'd get three.

It has been a while since the gold knight. Seeing what HF is doing I think it is quite possible for a gold ninja to have good plastic, but it requires good will from TLG.

What's wrong with those pics? (zero1312's) A correction, the 5 shell piece in trans neon red/orange already appeared in Jetbug.
-
Breeze looks good actually, but like Furno that white seems out of place.

Yeah, with pictures I now agree with the negativity in the review. There 's just a lot of things I would do with this set differently than TLG did. a) I would go for exclusively a black+yellow color scheme except for the head. Evo 2.0 was really one of the few 2.0 that went very well with his color scheme and black bone bricks. If there was something that was definitely not brocken about Evo 2.0 was the color scheme. b) Would replace the yellow chest with black or gun metal. That fixes the bad look from behind and also fixes something that really bugs me about the chest piece, the tech silver print does not really go well with yellow. I think the only thing that is worth pices-wise is the yellow bricks, but for that I'd rather buy Evo 2.0 again, and I got two of them already.

These are great, I think it really puts TLG to shame.

I guess they could rename Creator to "vehicles and houses" now. I don't like the house, blue is such an odd color for a house. The Friends big house thing is more exciting than this.

Hmnn, the new sets seem less inspired than the first wave, except for the sand castle that is. It seems LEGO have not reconsidered the minifig decision. Oh well. An advent calendar is quite a risk TLG are taking.
-
I am sensing the opposite thing here. Nothing in the summer pics for Lotr and SW has gotten remotely close to be as exciting as SamuraiX (Albeit I wonder if LEGO found out yet that name is probably trademarked...)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
vexorian replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If I were to bet, I would say that the main reason for the differences in random distribution is price. Some figures seem more expensive than others. In that regards, it seems the Roman has more new molds than many of the figures in this series. As an example, consider series 3. I doubt AFOLs really intended to army build the Fisher man, yet TLG chose to make him very rare. I'd say it was because he so far has the largest rope in any CMF series, and he was probably more expensive than average to produce. In this series' case, the minotaur does not even need a minifig head, then the celt only comes with a sword and a hair piece and the bandit does not really have new molds, only new colors and prints. So I guess it makes sense they are less rare than the others. The Spartan, the Elf and the Gladiator all were full of new molds. -
I really don't get why did they feel the need to give Hulk armor. He would have been great if all that silver was green. Iron Man is really the only one that attracts me, and even so not enough for me to consider financing licensed sets. HF has enough cool things next year so I really won't feel the lack of these super heroes..

The robots' comments in part 1 were strange in retrospect.
-
Squid, that way it can stay true to the original octopus concept, but be fast like a speed demon.
-
The werewolf is new. I think the coincidence is due to LEGO prioritizing on finishing prototypes for the minifigs that didn't have a good alternative. I think it is really, very unlikely for TLG to release CMF in sets. You can mark my words. And afterall, they didn't reuse the ninja in NinjaGo. Nor did they reuse the mommy in Pharaoh's quest. The minifigures will likely be very similar to their CMF counterparts but have different prints, TLG can order new minifigure prints very easily. I'd expect Franki and Dracula to dive a little more into scary territory than the comical territory from CMF.
-
Heh, in my experience , the presence of a set's instructions in the bulk make it less likely you will find the set in it. I wouldn't worry though, the minifigs alone justify the price. I myself would be more excited about the exo-force robots than spidey though.

And there's a 80% chance her suit will be pink.
