  1. Huh? Are XT4's bones stone gray or dark bley?
  2. You have to think of Scorpio as one of those "Bricks and More" buckets that come with a lot of parts and instructions for a model that you can use to test if the parts connect correctly. But I am getting off-topic.
  3. Whatever the name, the color was out of place. Scorpio was actually great value for the price. Just bought my second one because of the large quantity of bones and black and silver shells...
  4. You know what? I am glad they copied Hulk's build for Stormer. He does not look like Hulk. He looks like a very original titan build that is nothing like Bionicle and nothing like FL clones. He actually looks like a large humanoid hero, and I don't think the Bionicle or HF titan builds would ever be able to accomplish that. This build is literally one mold away of being great. They just need to change the standard 2.0 armor "shin guards" with something else that does not look that strange. The price, however ...
  5. Thank god for a no-nonsense shot of Core Hunter's face. Finally, once you can see the details it looks great. I think this set is great if we consider only the top half of his body. Legs and feet are quite normal, but then again I've been noticing that the same tends to happen to my MoCs... If the Makutas looked like this in 2008, Bionicle would have lasted 5 more years.
  6. XT4 is by no means a perfect set. But it is a small set. And as such there is not really a lot of competition. Toxic Reapa wins against him by a long shot (but that's merely because Toxic Reapa is made of 50% awesome and 50% win) Otherwise, we get a shark-shaped thing that doesn't make any sense, yet another insect guy but with sand green randomly tossed in him and three heroes that were completely ruined by thoughtless color schemes. Meanwhile, XT4 is original and looks like the mess he is and is a great parts pack, and to be honest it seems that the main problem with the last picture I saw of him was perspective. In the BZPower article he is looking great (except for the lips). Dude, that's ra...
  7. XT4 is meant to look like be a piece of junk. It also seems to be the sort of set that needs the correct pose and didn't get it during the fair. My complaint would be the face mold, it looks like it has lips. But then again Core Hunter has the same facial issue.
  8. XT4 is a small set. That's a lot of bones for 8.99. Stormer looks much better, but 24.99 sounds like too much. Is Stringer's left leg shell also transparent? I wish the transparent rods in Bulk were trans orange and not trans lime :( The only set of this wave I wouldn't buy is Nex. And there are 4 sets I would buy duplicates of. Unless of course there are some surprise changes before retail.
  9. That's a great ship. More reason for TLG to dump SW and move on with new licenses. SW has gotten into status quo mode and there is no room to make new stuff. Whilst super heroes really looks innovative now in comparison.
  10. Stringer: The only reason I would buy him is the trans torso, really. Core hunter: Stupid white hero core clashes badly with the scheme. Still difficult to see the face or shape, the video was better. Bulk is great, Nex blows, but I already knew that. Worried about the material of the front purple piece in Speeda demon's bike. Seems like rubber... Speaking of that piece, it is now silver in Stormer, that is terrible for Stormer, but maybe it is good to have them in a more neutral color. Voltix looks good but it seems only his torso is purple. The tentacle does not look appropriate for him. No XT4? ----- It seems the NY toy fair is outdated in comparison to the Germany one.
  11. The comic is still available in DD.
  12. We already have an HD video featuring all 2012 sets in a stand. I don't think NY's toy fair can give us much more information than that.
  13. To be honest my excitement about CMs has been fading. Mostly because of how difficult it has gotten to feel the contents in series 5. I am getting discouraged of trying to get more series considering all the amounts of money I have spent so much in series 5 and I have still not seen a single gladiator (to complete my set). Tons of zoo keepers though :/ And there are already two other series to fill my bills. That's a lot of bloat. I am starting to think it would be best if there much were less figures per series or much less series.
  14. Does Drunk Duck's power last even if you leave DD and host the comic on your own? If there is a contract, they do :/ But I guess the only power they have would be to shut down the comic's hosting in DD.
  15. It is abuse precisely because the people still buy them. LEGO could easily stop it with the blind packaging and stop using artificial means to increase sales and CMs would still be very successful. But sure, since they will sell CMs anyway they feel like getting away with it.
  16. If you have the storage space (Guaranteed to keep it MISB) and the money, it is a good long term investment. BUt keep in mind that you are not going to be the only person doing it. Scalpers probably buy dozens of modulars just in case, so it will be a while before there is enough scarcity to double the original price...
  17. This thread is ready. Brickshelf gallery (when approved) (Click small images for larger versions) Bob is a mad scientist robot that has absorbed an energy core just for fun. He also has sort of an army. Thinking of destroying the world Some of his mooks: Arm canon dude is a small robot that has an arm canon. My little friend is even littler than me The metal bros are two robots who happen to be gun mental-colored. Not even one of my brilliant captions would make this picture seem funny --- I have been trying to MoC with Hero Factory for a while. These are the first official HF MoCs I make that are not mods or revamps. HF's build system is so versatile that whenever I try to make something large, original and with an interesting build, I end up creating something small, simple and silly. I am very bad at taking pictures and if the pictures look any good it is because I borrowed my brother's camera which is very good. Too bad he just won't take the pictures for me. The best looking pictures (specially in case of the metal bros) used flash, I really should have used flash in all the pictures...
  18. I did a lot of stuff before my dark age. But the lamest thing I did as an AFOL are probably the walkers. I was going to link to a MocPages page I made about them, but the pictures are missing. Oh well. Imagine two bionicle legs with a laser gun as head. Edit: ok, I found something through google cache:
  19. It really hurts me when sites think Facebook is a good excuse for an openid replacement. It is specially bad to see that TLG fell for it. Guess I'll have to sign up through the old (fill all fields) method...
  20. This is great proof that we need a lot more transparent HF parts. Darn, my wallet and sense of taste will hurt now that I have to buy that set.
  21. hmnn, it seems standard for bootlegs. I do not know if it is the worst. Interlocking is difficult, but I think that's always the case with bootlegs. A graver problem is if it is hard to disassemble. I wonder if that was the case. I wouldn't put so much importance in bricks being a different size. It is not like you were going to mix LEGO bricks with bootleg bricks... If anything, it is probably best that you will not risk getting legit bricks hurt by putting them together.
  22. Thumbs up for Furno giving thumbs up. But I wonder if it would look better with a Bionicle fist.
  23. Both lasers are way too proportionally thin to be used as swords. It is not like laser swords are exclusive to SW nor is SW their origin.
  24. Lego diversifying would sound great to me if it wasn't for my local retailers only bringing a few themes per year. With so many licensed themes and ninjago and hero factory, I don't really think I'll have much chance to get to buy Dino or Monster hunters this year It is not like the CM bags come with Kingdom Joust figs. Also, specially with the more recent CM bags that make it very hard to pick by touch, I think you'll need to buy a lot of bags before the figure you want. Oh, sure they sell, but they are a rip off and costumer abuse in their blind packaging. --- Too much LEGO can indeed become a problem. Ask video game makers what happened when there were too many Atari games at the same time. LEGO's bubble may explode.
  25. Stormer XL looks much better than just about every FL clone. Except perhaps Black Phantom, but I will only know that for sure once I get it. Sure it is not perfect and the legs and feet look wrong. But I think this build has a lot more future than FL's, next year when they polish on that idea we might start getting great large characters.
