Anyway, if LEGO are having trouble selling exo-force sets back, were can I sign to try getting some of their surplus? I mean really.
-
Yeah, that's why the cockpit would need to be a new brick. -- I am getting frustrated about Rocka, Breeze, Evo and Black Phantom being nowhere to be found. All the other guys from beakout wave 1 are everywhere.
-
I think there should be exactly one more wave. Not zero because we really need a HF 2.0 Von Nebula. Not more than 1 because LEGO need to try different things and avoid to bionicle it. Exo force was mostly system, what I'd like is something that is mostly HF. The canopy would be three or 4 HF-style bricks that just let a minifig in. After that, all would be the usual bones and shells. If the minifigs are more space marine like and less "troll doll with strange eyes" it could work. The main improvement over exoforce would be that the build system would prevent its shortcomings like gapped design. Minifigures would draw LEGO fans to the constraction world. And yes, I have too much imagination. It is not healthy.
-
I want Hero Factory to be replaced in 2013. Instead I would make LEGO make a theme about mechs using the HF system, but with canopies that have minifigure pilots. Done.
-
If we have a contest, please keep the ideas open and accessible. Too specific things like the blue colors would limit us (me) a lot. Revamping is not bad, but it shouldn't be for specific sets, or even a specific wave.
-
It is not really a brainstorming site. It is a site to propose your own set designs and you would get royalties if it gets the votes and approved. So, implementation is very important. If you don't like a set idea, just don't support it. What if the box LEGO store was the first idea? It is a good thing people can submit an idea that was already proposed but present his/her implementation of the idea...

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

The Aztec is hard to find because it definitely has the most inflated bag in the series. So I guess kids that tell the difference rush to pick it up as it is probably a big thing. That is good too. Because if you see an inflated bag, all that is left to do is feel the lance as confirmation. The marines are odd, they have inflated bags, but only to one of the sides of the bag. It is so specific that I can tell marines by sight. I love having bought so many marines :) -
Kids next door?

If it makes you feel better, I hate Nerf and most other toys too. I love competition as a force that would force LEGO to improve. However, this is something that Megabloks and Kre-O do not do. They still are very low quality. If anything, Megabloks and Kre-O may be having a negative effect on LEGO's product, forcing them to be more "manly" and license-focused. I have come to know oxford from up close, and they have these wonderful tanks and the plastic is not awful like BTW/Kreo or Mega. I don't hate oxford. Of course, I have limited money and I can only choose to collect one brand, it will have to be LEGO.

They should try at least a couple of large sets with at least exo-force style fingers. They managed to be able to hold technic weapons just fine. Besides, weapons tend to be 80% system already.

Any market or interest in empty CMF packets or boxes?
vexorian replied to Big Cam's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Boxes are rare, and I guess some people might like them. Packets are very common and the original product was not expensive to begin with. I don't think anyone really needs empty packets and the sort of people that do, probably already have a bunch of them. I'd just recycle them. -
Dr. Doom is a main villain of the Spider Man tv show. It seems that the next marvel sets will focus on it. (Nick Fury and Nova appear on it too).
-
It should end with Furno starting to believe that Von Nebula is everywhere. Until he begins fighting with 5 Von Nebula clones and is about to lose so he asks for help. And mission control says: - No Furno, You are the Nebulas. And then Furno was a Zombie.
-
Set numbers were reused in the past, but when the old sets that used the number were very obscure or not used badly.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
vexorian replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It is a lot more likely that the retailer got series 8 early, but they don't want (or didn't have timet) to use a different casket yet or plan to use the same casket after getting rid of the few series 7 that were left. I can't believe I know this (I guess I watch too many movies). But American football players usually paint their faces with black stuff. At first it was said to reduce the sun glare (and that's why it is supposed to be close to the eyes). But nowadays some also claim to do it to intimidate the enemies. Those silly Americans. -
No child version of Shazam*? Great, I can live without any of the Comic con exclusives. * I know, I know, the name's captain marvel. My estimation has only one digit in the percentage.Edit: www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=567 Says less than 5%.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

Meh , the Alien queen's head is not transparent. You have failed, LEGO. The evil robot is so creepy without the helmet. That monster. Fairy now looks good, for the collection it is better to have a ton of variety, and she does that job all right. -

Only Shakespearean actor has dual face print? That is lame. Then what was this on your Bricklink store: --image of football player-- [/img] -Sci I think he means he doesn't have the hockey player. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

All right, review time. I've been checking the actual ideas, and I think that most of these ideas actually come from the ideas thread in this very site. For all the posts complaining about LEGO losing imagination, it seems that this series was a request. I remember the alternate cheerleader requests. British guy that looks like Dr. Watson: Just ok, 4x4 tile used as a newspaper. I am betting the printing will be funny in this. Football player: Was this not like the most usual request ever? I never quite liked the idea. Specially since we have just had a series completely dedicated to sports. I would have gone with red parts for this guy. Cheerleaders: It is cool to have a foil to the first one. Yes, her face expression is not very good, but it is still better than the odd one used in the first cheerleader. I think this one has a very good chance to have dual face prints. Alien queen: This figure implies a transparent purple minifigure head, among other trans purple goodness. The cape is great for witches and evil lords/ladies in general. This head style was rare in Alien conquest and only to be found on the larger sets. With some brasso you can alternate between having lipstick or not in their heads and finally army build these people. Conquistador: It should have a silver helmet. But the golden one makes him more interesting for me as I like to use minifig helmets in strange sci-fi projects... I remember requests for this. Yodeller: Hah, this is one I have to get for my collection. Anything that is an interesting stereotype fits. Fairy: She looks good at times, but the group shot with the minifigures standing on their bases makes her look terrible. This is another one that was requested often. Cowgirl: legs are a different mold. I wouldn't mind getting her collection-wise but won't actively look for her. DJ: Not my cup of tea, but many interesting new bricks. Bat guy: They should have waited for the monster theme to fade away a little before releasing this guy. Retro Scuba diver!: Awesome. I am fairly sure this was a top request. I got to get the minifigure 4 times, one for the collection and 3 for the helmets (as I mentioned before, these helmets are good stuff for me). Pirate: Too much gold, I don't think he looks very cool. If they mostly reused the typical pirate captain design and included a parrot it would have been much better. Skier: Good color scheme. The minifigure idea is overused. Santa : Best santa ever. Thespian: Great stuff. -

Cheerleaders and Robots. Sure, "we" already got them. Except that most people actually could not get much of series 1, as it was under produced or distributed terribly or whatever. The Alien Conquest queen is a very different thing from the other Alien Conquest dudes. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
vexorian replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Woah, you are right, I forgot the brain Aliens in Alien Conquest came with trans neon green heads. I am pretty sure there will be a trans-purple head in the queen, else the brain would not look right. -
In reality, all the Aliens in this theme were female. The Alien in the CM series 8 is male. In their planet, male Aliens are the ones that use lipstick. After getting my first queen, I will use brasso on each of the duplicates to remove lipstick so I finally can make my army I couldn't make because of Alien Conquest not coming here.

And the robot. Knowing the old robot, and seeing the pictures, I bet that when you take the helmet off you will get an awesome evil robot face. -

I am glad we have new robots, a cool alien queen (which is only a "repeated" idea in that it is an Alien, but otherwise is something of the most original ideas accounting all series, plus I am sure her parts can be used to make Evil Queen Snow white style. The only recycled thing used in this Alien queen is the head, and even it has a great twist, like the brain in trans purple. ) A brunette Cheerleader is almost a repeat. But seriously, even if you are not one of the 3 guys who were actually able to get series 1 figs and already have a Cheerleader, what is a Cheerleader without a rival from another team? I am glad that there is no Jock, ballerina or politician and we instead get a chance at an evil robot and an Alien queen. Added to the conquistador and William Shakespeare, I think this series is definitely better than series 2, and is probably tied or better than some other series so there is no way it can be the worst of them. I prefer a good old idea over a bad new one every day, and the robot and Cheerleader were good old ideas. I hope to see more remakes in future series. Specially of series 1 (Hilariously, the robot and the Cheerleader happen to be some of the few figures from series 1 I could get Hope to see a new Luchador in the future.
