Well I guess here is my unpopular opinion then: I like stickers*, a lot. More than most printed pieces, in fact. (The exception is if a particular piece will always be useful with that particular image that is printed, i.e. control panels and such. For everything else I prefer stickers in order to save them to customize something else later on.) *meaning waterslide decals. Opaque printed stickers are terrible and do cheapen the brand.

I do this all the time, probably more than I realize, because my wife is starting to understand what I mean (and not get annoyed). I also look at everything around and re-render it in LEGO in my mind. But the strongest evidence is this: my wife and I were talking about getting a new vacuum. After looking at one brand, I said I didn't like it because I thought it felt cheaply made. When she asked why, I started to answer but then stopped--only for a split-second--and she chimed in: "were you about to say that it feels like MegaBloks instead of LEGO?" Needless to say, I turned as bright red as a standard brick; sometimes it is scary how well she knows me.

Just got back, but I'll post my full thoughts later. There is only a scene early on in the credits, right after the closing titles. Also, the music during the credits is good, but after the titles it hardly sounds different from the original Avengers OST. I don't regret staying through the end, but there really isn't much special either.

I think I prefer yellow, but only because that's what I have the most of. I definitely prefer having the option of MOCing with fleshy, because there are some scenes that just look better that way.

Repairing a Technic Figure
rodiziorobs replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Given the tiny area that the broken end of that pin has, I think any adhesive you use will be very fragile and probably not strong enough to pose the arm without breaking the glue again. I would suggest removing the broken pin and finding a new arm. If you have a dremel or other small drill--a small enough diameter that drilling a hole straight into the pin will leave a little plastic all around it--you can drill about half-way through it, then with the drill bit still buried in the plastic pin pull straight out. Since that joint it so small, that might not be possible, so you could then just use the drill to carefully break the pin into shavings until it falls out. If you don't have a tiny drill like that, you could use a pick or knife blade to remove it, but I would worry about damaging the socket around it. -
I bought a used set and I have a trouble with the heads
rodiziorobs replied to hachiroku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the only safe way to get useful parts without risking damage to them in some way is to buy new ones. For just a head and helmet, it shouldn't be too much on Bricklink. -
I assumed from the surgical glove he is wearing it was implied that he did do all of those himself. Not the same as regular old scars, but like K-Nut said, then he would just be Zsasz. I am honestly glad they are going a different route than either the DK version or the Nicholson version; each iteration of a(ny) character should do more than just try and live in the shadow of the previous ones.

[SPC] Cat A - Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
rodiziorobs replied to Wat Tambor's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I think you did a great job here combining all the different minifig parts--they all look great! Rumbelly is probably my favorite, though. The colonel's tiara is a nice touch. -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
rodiziorobs replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
That was pretty clever, had me laughing. I also cracked up at the Where are my Pants sign. I think I actually like the Lego version much more than the original! -
Mine are mine, and theirs are theirs. Sometimes they want to play with mine (I have lots more parts and more minifigs, which they love combining), and sometimes I want to play with theirs (they have newer sets with several pieces I don't have). We often share pieces or borrow each others', but I try to keep track of everything so it can eventually be returned. And I have given them a lot of my basic bricks (anything 2xn) so that if younger kids come over there is still a box that can be played with.

I had a hard time feeling any enthusiasm for Man of Steel, in fact it was about a year after it came out until I actually sat down to it. And then, it was just kind of meh. I expected the same coming into BvS. That being said, I really liked this trailer. The chaotic voiceover at the beginning I think really set the tone for this, and I suddenly find myself, for the first time, excited about where this franchise is headed. Compared to the SW:VII trailer, I thought that one was kind of a fan-service featurette, and not much more. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but I think the BvS was--for me at least--much more effective. Goyer's name in the credits still worries me a bit, but suddenly I am on board with this in a way I didn't expect to be.

Thanks for the comments! Since Thor is my favorite of the Avengers, this scene was a lot of fun to build. Every day I hope for news about the inevitable SW/Marvel + Muppets mashup.

I really liked the first picture, but the second is fantastic! Great portrayal of this scene!

This is a vignette I built from Thor, the scene where Thor has to destroy the Bifrost bridge in order to thwart Loki. The scene is inspired by the movie, but I built the details how I wanted, rather than try to be 100% faithful to the movie. I think it captures the look of it pretty well. I know some people don't like the stiff capes, but I do--they help hold the figure up in a way that allows for some pretty dynamic posing. C&C welcome! See the rest on my Flickr page

Murder by Death

Do you mean the bottom row, closest to the floor? My local store rarely has that row full because they don't have large enough bricks to fill them with. For safety reasons, they can't put small bricks there or little kids try to eat them.

Of all of the pirate vessels roaming the Caribbean galaxy, perhaps none is more notorious or feared than the Flying Fist. Flying Fist - polling image by rodiziorobs, on Flickr Captained by the merciless Capt. Fist and his bloody band, the Flying Fist has defeated the Imperial police on countless attempts. The most notable episode (the one most retold in drunken song in taverns 'round the galaxy) involves twenty Nova-class Imperial cruisers, an asteroid field, a well-timed disruptor blast and a very angry Terrillian Ape. The Flying Fist is a small craft and very swift. Its main engines are three medium-weight Magellan thrusters, which have been modified to withstand extreme energy capacities. The reason for this modification is the custom da Gama suprasorb energy sails; originally developed for power generation from solar energy, they have been specially treated with ionic tetraflutamine to increase their energy absorption from all spectra. While this process also strengthened the normally fragile sails against physical blasts, it means that rather than doing damage, energy or laser shots--especially direct hits--actually supercharge the fuel cells, to then be used to power any of the ship's systems--the engines, the cannons, the shields, etc. The ship actually gets stronger the more hits it takes. Armaments include small rockets, countermeasures, targeting missile systems, and of course each crew member's own personal arsenal. But the big guns are the three heavy phase disruptors on either side of the ship. They fire concentrated alternating energy beams that can rip right through even armored ship hulls, and can usually weaken shields sufficiently enough to let the other weapons do the rest of the work. Other ship features include two flight decks, on-board controls for energy and weapons management, nav center, lower positional thrusters, and that sweet alien skull on the stern to strike fear into the hearts of those lily-livered Imperials! See the crew, Capt. Fist's Bloody Band, my entry for Category A. See more photos of the Flying Fiston my Flickr page. There are also more further below. Check out the rest of my creations on Flickr ****** A couple of notes and a few pictures With this ship, I wanted to give it a feeling of a Chinese junk, with the square decks and battened sails, and also use a non-traditional color scheme. It does not feature a full interior (that's taken up by the cannons), but the front of the lower half of the ship holds the navigation center, and the top half is easily removed, being attached by only a few studs (yet it is still pretty strong and swooshable!) The entire lower half of the ship is built upside-down. I wanted to avoid treating the underside as an afterthought, so I tried to include some good detail on there as well, but this meant I had to build a base for it to stand on.

That is a crazy shape! I like the interior features, too, and the hidden cannons.
