What was the last movie you watched?
rodiziorobs replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The new Mission Impossible (Rogue Nation). I realized about two-thirds through that either I didn't know what the plot was, or it didn't really have one. Yet the final act pulled it all together well, and plotless or not it was quite fun. Almost as much as MI:4. -
Ah! Although I lived in Brazil for awhile, I never had the chance to visit Rio and see this in person. I do have a giant poster of it in my Lego room, though My only complaint is that I'm not sold on using technic pins as hands, but other than that its very nice, especially with such a small part count. Well done!

Of all the posts in this thread, this is the one with the least speculation, and the most truth!

I believe some of the Bionicle characters have this as well, with transforming weapons, or weapons that transform into transports (the water one has blades that transform into gliders that attach to the feet). I think the accessories bit refers to being able to add things to the knights' armor or weapons to upgrade them, which ties back to the Nexo idea that has been referred to. It may not be a full-blown mech suit, but some sort of armor enhancement. Don't tease. This would be awesome. Not Castle, but awesome.

The airline takes off because it doesn't know who you are, and it doesn't care; it already has your money. On the other hand, your carpool will stick around a few minutes because they know you, and even if you're a few minutes late you're a part of the group. They may honk the horn a few times, but they'll spare a few minutes. Otherwise, you'd find a different group to go with. Not saying it's a perfect analogy, but I think it's adequate.

How do you use the Window Frame 4x3/Shutter 2x3?
rodiziorobs replied to suenkachun's topic in Community
In my mind, these aren't shutters, they are blinds, as it looks like you could alter the pitch of the slats to either let in or block out the light by moving the rod in the middle. -
Yeah. Where's nekchir when you need him?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
rodiziorobs replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hit a Target last night and picked up a Mad Scientist and Spectre. I had also wanted a Plant Monster (and about a dozen more but, you know, $), unfortunately someone had cleaned them out, as that's the only fig I couldn't find. -
My guess would be today or tomorrow since the Cat A and C builds should have been scored as they came in, so there are just Cat Bs.

^Good point Aanchir about the age-appropriateness of sets. However, I believe people's comments refer to appeal. After all, the age listed on the box refers to building ability, not the appeal of subject matter; my four year old loves Ninjago even though the set difficulty is above his level.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
rodiziorobs replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
For all those saying 'Spidey (or any other character) has a small movie role, so he won't get a minifig', remember that Strucker got one. That is all. More likely is that he wouldn't get one because he showed up rather late for the Disney/Marvel party.... -
I love that it's even mini-frog scale! Great shape, especially around that windscreen.

What an impressive build! My favorite part is the shaping on those massive engines. Brilliant design there.

Maybe the new logo signifies the return of chromed parts?!? ... Yeah, I didn't think so either.

Except that that suit Which confuses me because For the record, I am not totally sold on this info being accurate. But, I've been proven wrong when I've been skeptical about Marvel news/leaks before.

Welcome to M.A.N.T.I.S. Engineer Max and Ivan Wolfe!

My first encounter with it was with my son's TMNT sets. I realize, however, that it is from a different system of building, but that doesn't forgive the almost-system-like design. Is it a good, useful piece? Yes. But it is also a missed opportunity to include further connection points (while keeping the piece the same in every other respect), and that is what frustrates me.

. (Sorry, I realize that's like 1,000 words there. I'll try again: Chemicals

So is this technically a rerelease? That Expert logo matches the one on the new version of the Toy Shop...

I would say that any part is useful, if nothing else as a challenge to work in to a MOC. It is frustrating to me, though, when I come across pieces like this: The clip on the side is in system, and the shape makes this a useful part, but the knob on top is too big for a clip, yet too small for a technic connector. Also, the greebly hole on the side is designed to be too small to receive a pin. It's like, "really TLG? You couldn't spare another mm to make this into an extra connection point?" And I dunno, maybe they couldn't; it is still frustrating.

I would say the same about you, sir, as my local 'Murican store never has any foliage at all...

Location: A04, Mynderis Tags: Land Vehicle (hovercraft) Sorry Bob to cut the deadline so close! **This build takes place before Scorpio's first spying mission, several months ago** Scorpio having recently been assigned a Spying Outfit, the Council of Five decided he had also better get a little bit of spy training in. His mission would be on A06, a hot, volcanic desert planet, So the Council wanted his training to take place in a similar environment. Luckily, the outer rim planet Mynderis had a similar climate and features, and was closer to Torresta. His task was to master stealth maneuvers driving a hypercraft (high-speed hovercraft). This craft was capable of very swift speeds using anti-grav thrusters, however it was utterly incapable of clearing more than a few inches from the surface. A lightweight, super-durable alloy was developed that shielded the bottom from the inevitable scrapes it would face. Luckily, the hull was also extraordinarily heat-proof, as if the burning lava flows along the planet's surface didn't torch the craft, the blazing dunes would. This hypercraft model was called "the Scarab", as it was perfect for desert travel. Scorpio thought it was also because it looked somewhat insect-like, but such was life at M.A.N.T.I.S. Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Sorry for the links instead of embeds; Flickr is giving me a hard time on mobile right now. I'll try to update it later.
