  1. I agree with Rogue Angel. People get their hopes up too high on unconfirmed data which they didn't put any effort into obtaining other than to waste time on the internet (I'm totally guilty of this!) Maybe a rumor was even right at the time leaked but later on is proven wrong; things change. Heck, even official stuff from TLG itself sometimes gets changed (for example, go reread the Nexo Knights thread for several pages debating the gender of a character depending on which source you read!) It gives us something to talk about in the meantime, and it's not like amazingbricks is a nekchir-troll or anything. He/she is trying to do a genuine service to the community which I appreciate. Besides, sometimes we can look back and laugh at how we ever were dumb enough to believe Lego would give us a cradle-rocking monster in S14!
  2. I expect when (not if, right Lego?) we get an Elastigirl/Mrs. Incredible fig, they might do a built-on arm similar to Sandman's from the recent Spidey set, only scaled down to fit into a blind bag. They would probably use the new Spidey web-slinging piece (although maybe not in trans-clear). I suppose we could get a new arm mold, like for Chicken Man or Left Shark, but I am not expecting that.
  3. I don't think we'll ever get a character as an accessory to another character, unless the accessory character doesn't stand on its own, for example Chip would be an accessory for Mrs. Potts (except that they aren't exactly figures, so we'll likely never get them). Basically, Lucifer could come with Lady Tremaine, but if we ever get Chip and Dale or Mushu or Phil they are likely going to be their own character with their own bag (meaning the odds for a lot of those characters is probably close to nil). That said, I would love the whole Rescue Rangers squad (and some more of the old Disney Afternoon characters, if we can get them), the rest of the Incredibles (including Frozone and Edna Mode), and the main four from Emperor's New Groove. Even if there's no way they could really do Yzma justice in a minifig, I'd buy it anyway Oh, and Goofy. Then I could make a Lonesome Ghosts MOC. (which would actually give me a reason to buy Mickey and Donald!) They better not make him exclusive in the rumored D2C.
  4. I agree that both movies feel a little overstuffed. I am rooting for both to be good movies. I feel like CA:CW will be good. It will also be pretty safe. I know the script, the direction, the production design, etc. will be perfectly enjoyable, but it may not be much more than that. I have enjoyed myself at every Marvel outing so far...even their misses aren't bad movies. But sometimes I feel like they should be swinging for the fences more--and they even hint that they might be (GOTG, AoU)--but they never go even a bit beyond Kevin Feige's protective reach. While this has fostered a truly connected universe, has also, I think, kept some films back a bit. On the DC side of things, I'm a little torn. I grew up with BTAS on Fox as a kid, and Batman was (and still is) one of the heroes I enjoyed the most. I felt like Batman Begins was pretty much a perfect Batman movie (wasn't a fan of the other two), and I think Affleck can deliver something similar or even better. I would like to see Goyer involved a little less, or not at all. MoS, on the other hand, I had a hard time getting excited about. I didn't see it in theaters, but when I finally rented it I realized it was a pretty good movie. Also, pretty unmemorable. My wife and I started discussing it during the end credits (something we often do), and realized we couldn't remember details about a movie we had just seen. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really command my attention, either. BvS has a chance to do just that; to challenge tough philosophical/political questions while also delivering a slick and fun ride. If it can do the first, it might become a new favorite for me. If it can only do the second, it's no better than the average Marvel. Which can still be completely satisfying, but where Marvel plays it safe, this is DC's chance to really nail it by digging deep into the questions it has raised for itself and paying of with more than just action. Interesting; I had never thought about it that way. This exactly! While TWS is probably in the top three of most everyone's Marvel list, in the end it plays it safe for a clean (if perhaps hollow) victory. I am hoping this kind of scenario comes up in CW, but is more ambiguous. Bottom line: I know CW will be at least good, but I want it to be great. I know BvS has all the makings to be great, but I don't know how hopeful I am that they can pull it off.

  6. Maleficent: hard to pass up Alice: I might get her, depending on how useful her parts are Cheshire cat: nice, but I don't need to own it Syndrome: yes! Mr. Incredible: yes! With memorabilia! Buzz: meh Alien: meh (the movie isn't my favorite, so they're not hard ones to miss) Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie: I think the proportions for all of these are actually quite good. I just don't want to buy them. Hook: I will get it just for that hat (thanks for not molding the hat to the head, Lego!) Peter Pan: meh Aladdin: maybe for parts Genie: probably not Stitch: nah. Ursula: great fig, but I don't like the movie, so...maybe? Ariel: nah
  7. The icy setting is terrific for the story! I love the shaping on the runners with those horn/tail pieces.
  8. Whatever
  9. The snowman possibilities were part of why I suggested the new head mold for Pinocchio. Besides, there wouldn't be a way to do the character justice with a printed nose, nor a point in molding the nose to the head. Besides, if they did a headpiece with a hole his accessory could be another (longer) nose. I could see Jiminy Cricket getting an S1 minifig, though. He is iconic enough I think they would give him his own bag instead of being an accessory (although an Ant-Man sized cricket would be pretty cool). Is there a need for a Merlin, after the recent wizard CMF?
  10. His Christmas wish list better have "nosehair trimmer" on it.
  11. Whale I for one shore hope we do knot have to aweigh-t too much longer for images to surface. Edit: aw crap, Actor already used 'surface' -1

  14. BRICKS!
  15. I woodn't (sorry, couldn't help myself!) doubt him for future series, but he doesn't seem like S1 material for me...not even as filler. If he ever does show up, I hope there is hole in his face for a standard bar/nose.
  16. McYarglevitch's
  17. I hope the price doesn't increase more...I'm already washed up having to shell out 4 clams apiece...
  18. The suit is really good, but the old-style camera is definitely my favorite part!
  19. 40 to SpacerSteve, please
  20. paint
  21. You've done it again! I like the batwing on the back, and you've made some great choices on the supporting crew. My only critique would be that the pirate net pieces. The piece itself is fine (I've used them this way myself!), buy they just sort of...end, halfway up, and don't really look attached.
  22. 91 pages, summed up in one post there, folks!
  23. You may be covered without additional insurance, but if you ever had to file a claim it would be on you to provide evidence of its worth. You could say "$4000 worth of Lego was destroyed in a fire" just as easily as you could say you had millions of dollars cash destroyed. If you can't prove it, it will be hard to get your claim honored. Even if you don't plan on insuring it separately, it is good to keep an itemized list of sets you have* to provide an estimate of value and replacement cost, should anything ever happen. Also, if you have a large collection I wouldn't expect your homeowners policy to cover most of it unless it's specifically listed on your policy. *Whether dismantled or built, as long as sets are complete the replacement cost is comparable, unless of course you have some MISB sets. I am not sure of the best way to inventory PAB buys or Bricklink lots, unless you keep receipts or something (I haven't been). I need to update my inventory list...
  24. I like the droid's-eye-view shot the best, that's a clever angle for the whole vignette. (Except that you can't see the droid from it, of course! )
