Lego Elves waterfall castle tree
rodiziorobs replied to BenA's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This looks wonderful! My favorite part is definitely the waterfall, both the building style and how it ties the whole thing together. -

I don't actually think that will be Spidey's intro in the movie. By the airport scene, we will have already seen him. That line he says is likely from the movie, but a different scene. So, his actual movie introduction will still be a surprise.

That's a great trailer! I think I needed that. It's a little cliche in spots, especially with the doom and gloom soundtrack, but there is an awful lot to like. I just hope the movie can deliver and not feel overstuffed. Edit: "underoos"

Have you ever felt judged for liking LEGO?

All growing up my dad hated "Leggos" as he called them and threatened to throw them all away on many occasions. He was probably relieved when I became a teenager and packed them away. When I started building again about 6 or 7 years ago, he was surprised and gave me a hard time about it (not in the mean-spirited way as before, but as a way of making fun). Then I showed him something I made--a Christmas tradition of mine of building a holiday-themed functioning candy dispenser. He was amused, and a little impressed, but still made fun of me for it. A few months later he brought us a whole bunch of cherries in the morning, and was going to come back later in the day. We didn't have a cherry pitter/stoner, and it would have been laborious to cut them open one by one and remove the stones, so I whipped together a little stand with a technic plunger and pitted several pounds of cherries in an hour. When he came back, he said he realized we probably didn't have a pitter so he had bought us one. He was surprised to see that we had already done all the work without one, and asked how I did it. I told him to guess, and a big smile spread across his face as he realized what I was talking about. He was absolutely dumbfounded when I showed him my Lego cherry pitter. Since then he has changed from night to day, buying Lego for my kids, for me, and last year he even got my wife a set--even though she has confessed she has no personal inclination towards the hobby. I guess he just had to see that it wasn't just a toy, but that it could be used for actual practical uses, as well. I guess he realized I hadn't been wasting all my time as a kid.- 107 replies

It would appear that the spammers themselves are starting some free verse poetry of their own...

The effects/photo editing here really sell the story! You've done it to great effect. Nice details on the derelict ship, as well

I love how you made the story tie in to the tech build. I started reading and had to scroll back up to make sure I had clicked the right topic! I like the four-winged design of ship itself, although I can imagine it would get a little fiddly being built around those wheel pieces.

Looks fine to me, but I'm on mobile... I know it, but since I just had a turn I'll wait and see what guesses come out.

It took me a minute to realize it was micro scale because that buggy is so good!

Dino mech Now I know what it means when it says that the alien activity on Freegate is intense! I like the overgrowth and the truck. Maybe the mop head maybe could have been a little better utilized, but it's still some sweet NPU!

(Sorry for the low-res youtube screengrab.) I don't suppose this one will take too long...

I just reported a spam that said something about the "New Year 2011". Now I wish I had copied the text

Not sure how I feel about that. I mean the guy pretty much is J. J. Jameson. I've never been able to see him in a movie/ Farmers Insurance commercial without thinking that.
