Heroica RPG - Quest #53: Chaos in Eubric
The Legonater replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
Greetings Felton, McColt. It has been a long time. I trust youu are well? As for you, Sir. Bennetton, you would do well to heed our words. Wren is a threat to us all. She is cunning and vile, as anyone in our party could tell you. She has raised up groups and feuds for the sole reason of creating chaos. She loves chaos. Of recent news, she intends to become a master of it. If it is indeed your city you wish to protect, you should help us, because once she has done with us, she will come after you, of that I am sure. But enough of my words. I examine the shiny red sword on his desk. -

Indeed, and in a hunt such as this, one could use all the allies they can find. Say, I wonder if we can find anyone to train to help us along the way. -

Wise words, Cronk. Have we met? If so, then it has been a long time. In fact, I really should apologize, I barge in here and start arguing. The name's Dyric Rone, for those of you I haven't met. I'm afraid I'm a bit lost at the moment, all I know is that we're hunting down the Dark Lady. That was incentive enough for me. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #53: Chaos in Eubric

I listen disgustedly, realizing this was a bad time to interrupt. You speak as one of the new ruling order in my homeland; many words, but little depth. You say that chaos, handled properly, can lead to harmony. What foolishness! Chaos can not be controlled so imply! It is for that very matter that I know for sure white and black do exist. No, I cannot accept your Grey and Grey Morality. It sickens me. It betrays they very thing I lost all I know for! I devoted my life to protecting my kingdom, and I was cast down with rags on my back for it! Yet you honestly believe it. The standards I have devoted myself to are by no means 'arbitrary' Arthur Regulus. You seemed like a decent, intelligent man once. Tell me, what has happened to him? Since when has Regulus the seventh reasoned for madness? You say that Eubric needs only to give into the chaos it reeks of. Do you not see that it already has? This chaos has plunged them into despair! Into darkness and ruin! It is for this very reason we must fight it at every chance. Chaos is not something that can be controlled and used so easily, Regulus. You are meddling in the affairs of something far darker than you know. For chaos, by its very nature, cannot be used, nor controlled. Chaos has a will of it's own. It exists to destroy. To bring solid structures down. I have seen it happen once. I will not see it happen again. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #53: Chaos in Eubric

After a great deal of running and tracking, Dyric finally catches up to the group. He find a spot to sit, and falls down onto it. -
Dyric entered the hall a changed man. He felt ready for action, the likes of which he had not seen in a long time. As he listened to the buzz of conversation he heard bits and pieces here and there. One name kept coming back. One name continuously echoed in Dyric's skull. .For added effect, please listen to the link providedDyric felt the comforting warmth of his chain whip and grinned. His old nemesis had yet again reared her head. She would be the perfect target for his first strike. When they last met, he was but the exiled rogue. But he was now the Assassin of Heroica. This time, things would be different. Very. Something was wrong though, and it didn't take long to figure out what. They were gone. The party was gone. Yet Dyric grinned. Sometimes, fate could not be stopped. He sprinted out the door of the Hall, heading for the direction the party headed. With his newly honed tracking skills, he followed the group over hills and plains, determined to locate them and stop Wren once and for all.

Dyric Rone, at long last, stepped into the spacious training room. He had wondered into Eubric lost, exiled, abandoned, with nothing but the clothes on his back, a weak longsword and a smoke bomb he had gathered together from the forests. Nearly everything he knew had been stripped from him. Torn apart before his eyes. Ruined. He was hopeless, directionless, with nothing to wake up to but the haunting past. He had journeyed across the sea, searching for something, anything to aid him as he worked up the strength to return home to Duplovia in full honour. Yet he found something entirely different. He did not find a means of revenge, a means of proof. Instead he found Eubric, a shattered city representing his shattered heart and body. He found a city divided, but not yet conquered. Of all things, he found kinship with the city. Above all else, though, he found Heroica. He found a shining gem standing ready to defend the city, whether it would accept it or not. He found heroes of all backgrounds, uniting together as one force- and it attracted him. He was drawn to Heroica, and found residence there. Over time, his desire for Duplovia was overshadowed by what he grew to learn. What he grew to learn did not come in a single revelation. It did not come as a dream in the night. Rather, it came through experience, and the more he learned the stronger he got. The more he learned, the more he was renewed. Before long, he was no longer the cast out rogue of Duplovia. Instead, he was a Hero of Heroica. In the Hinckwell Garden he fought slavers who would capture the mysterious and beautiful beasts and abuse them for their own means. There he defeated them, and while doing so found new friends, and a new hope in the good of the world around him. On the plains he fought the Dark Lady Wren, who represented all he grew to hate, and he grew to hate her as well. He found a new definition of evil, a personification that stood in his way and challenged him. Yet he and his growing list of friends stopped her, for all that meant, and came out the victor. In Triad Park he hunted the leader of the Shadeaux and they found the truth to his mysterious ways. While doing so he learned that there was a hope for Eubric. He learned that the next generation of leaders would be a stronger generation, one that put their family feuds aside, and that if things were stalled until they took control, everyone would be the better for it. Threw all this, one fact shone clear to Dyric Rone of Duplovia. Eubric needed its heroes, and they- or at least he- needed Eurbric. They needed a light threw the chaos, through diversity, and through oppression. They needed someone to track down evil to it's heart and take it down. They needed an Assassin of the Light. Dyric Rone would be that Assassin. 20 years old male human Assassin Level 16 1/2 *Lucky* Power: 26 Health: 27/27 Gold: 1152 GP: 22 Equipment: Double Chain Whip (WP:10), Loaded Die (permanent lucky-effect; accessory), Sticky Gloves (Increases amount of gold stolen by 50%; handwear) Inventory: Briar Bow (WP: 11; wood-elemental), Throwing Knife (WP:4, ranged, retrievable), Longsword (WP: 3), Aqua Gear (Adds water-element to physical attacks and protects from water-elemental damage, accessory), Aquamarine (Water), 2 Potions, 3 Grand Potions, Grand Tonic, Elixir, 4 Remedies, Phoenix Essence, Mead, 2 Smelling Salts, 2 Venoms, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll, Skeleton Decoy, 2 Mythril Shards (2/4 of a Mythril), Silver Ore (Worth 60 gold) Please tell me if I did anything wrong with the inventory.

Cautiously, I pass over the crossbow and gold. -
I wouldn't edit it either way, but maybe that's just me.

After watching the movie I have to disagree. They didn't recycle music, they used themes that should naturally appear in the Hobbit. The Shire/Hobbits theme in LotR should be the Shire/Hobbits theme in the Hobbit, and that's what they did. The only case of this that bothered me was when they used the Black Rider/Sauron theme, but I think in context it worked okay.

I attack the Hungry Bear from the back row with my whip. -
I have to agree with you there. It's a neat concept, but the controls make it nigh impossible.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
The Legonater replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Whenever I imagined LEGO doing Minas Tirith/Pelennor Fields, I always pictured it laid out in a full LotR wave, like the following. Bear in mind that these are Canadian prices I'm basing things off of. 9.99 - 14.99: Orc Catapult with Rider of Rohan, 1 Orc and/or Gothmog 19.99 - 24.99: Fell Beast with Witch-King, Eowen and Merry. 39.99 - 44.99: Grond with Minas Tirith gate and(?) section of wall. Several orcs and soldiers of Gondor. 70.99 - 74.99: Mumakil with Easterlings, Legolas and Gimli. 99.99 - 104.99: Corsair ship with Corsairs of Umbar, Aragorn, Oathbreakers. Insert high price here: Minas Tirith. Soldier of Gondor, Orcs, Gandalf, Pippin, Denethor, Faramir(?)- 7,499 replies

Agreed. I got the Extended Editions a while ago, and I intend to do the same for the Hobbit Trilogy. The only one I get bored during is RotK, mainly because the first half has little to nothing in terms of action. Not that that's Peter's fault, though.

Alright. I do get an odd feeling in my bones that sign-ups will be up for a few days, yet, so we'll see how it goes. I would like a chance to take down that Kraken, that's for sure. -

How much longer do we plan on doing this, Docken? Just curious. There might be some crazy-epic quest up in the halls bringing back old friend and enemies that we might want to sing up for. You know, just spitballing here. -

I've watched the movies a few times now, but I finally got started on the actual books this summer in prep for the Hobbit movie release. I've finished the Hobbit and Fellowship, but I've been pretty busy lately, and am not that far into Two Towers.
