  1. Great! Definitely the best I've seen at this scale. Nice job on the different versions, and fitting in the essential interior details as well. NPU on those blade pieces for the windshield pillars, too!
  2. Awesome. When I think about the Blacktron mentality, I think "overkill" (with emphasis on the "kill"), and this certainly delivers on that philosophy!
  3. Welcome to EB, Flagon_15. May you never experience the Dark Ages at all! Happy building!
  4. Yeah, not as strong as clipping in a bar properly, but I remember first finding that when I was out of one type of connector and was pleasantly surprised to see that it would still work reasonably well like that. That's what I really love about Lego - the System. Things are well thought-out when being designed so even if they didn't have something like this in mind it's not surprising to find that it works. Good insight on the use case from the Gungan Sub, Brick Pilgrim. Thanks for sharing - I'm sure it's new to other folks as well, and always fun to chat and see what creative things folks have done!
  5. I absolutely love this! Great parts usage in several spots, and the look is spot-on. Makes me want to re-interpret that whole pirates line in micro-scale... and providing inspiration like that with a wonderful build is high-praise!
  6. Looks great in every phase! I suppose it could have a little more slope to the hood to really drive home the DeLorean look in car form, but you've packed so much into such a tight package - it's quite impressive and very well done!
  7. Welcome to EB, Brick Pilgrim! Happy building, and enjoy your stay!
  8. Can you give a little more detail (or a photo) of what you're trying to do? Regular 2x2 square bricks, 3 of them with the one in the middle offset by 45º with not more than 2 plate offset between them, that seems easy enough. But what do you mean by "spin rigidly on axis"? The one in the center needs to spin, or the group of 3 of them needs to spin, but you're concerned about the strength of the offset connection because that center brick may get bumped off of 45º so something as simple as a 1x1 round plate between them just with the friction of the clutch power may not be OK? (I'm envisioning it being used as a cutting/grinding head spinning horizontally or something.) Is that right? How/what are you planning on connecting to the ends of bricks #1 and 3?
  9. Welcome to EB, Dan! Happy building to you, and your whole family!
  10. I'll let Cooper Works give the details, but I see several cut/modified/glued parts throughout, but that round clip looks amazingly smooth if it's not a 3rd party part and ground down from a regular Lego piece. Too much modifying of pieces for my purist preference, but nice looking mechs, and the stickers definitely add a level of detail that brings it all together. I really like the feet on the Blackjack in particular!
  11. I don't think it's a regular annual event, but looking at years past it's been mostly in April or November. So at this point, unless they spring a single day or weekend 3x promo randomly, the best bet is probably heading into the winter holidays (including any live in-store invitational VIP events, but I think they may be done with those based on the trend the last couple of years).
  12. Welcome to EB, Joe.Chu! Happy building!
  13. I like your collection of micro Star Trek ships! Nice to see the DS9 station in there as well. And yes... I was also tempted by that TOS Enterprise set, but still can't bring myself to buy non-Lego, and I don't like their lack of creativity with the specialized "cheat" pieces like the nacelle pylons. Still... it does look good.
  14. Lovely build, and outstanding video! Fun to see all that B5 stuff brick-ified, and solid animation. Your micro/nano Starfury fighters are great. Does the core of the physical bricks model actually rotate? I assume not given the limited support structure at that scale (and the limitations of gravity), but I'm curious if that was something you had designed in or just did for the video.
  15. Interesting observation - I'm pretty sure there have been custom themes in the past. I checked the Wayback Machine and found at least 1 there where the header image and theme colors had pirate elements, but maybe it was a fluke. Maybe a matter of someone on staff just not having time right now?
  16. Welcome to EB, CorporalDwayneBricks! I don't have time now to go into detail, but I'll note that for simple things (since you have a laser printer) there's an easy technique where you print on regular paper and then use clear packing tape to lift the toner and use that as a sticker. That works well for me for most basic needs. Here's a quick result I googled on the same technique: https://thegraphicsfairy.com/diy-packing-tape-transfers/ Also, FYI, if you just google for: site:eurobricks.com custom stickers you'll find plenty of topics that way with lots of good info for you. Happy building, and sticker/decal-ing!
  17. Do you mean the single sheet folded set promos that they had in small sets, or the stapled ~10 page mini-catalogs that used to be included from time to time (or both)? The booklets are often referred to as "Medium-size" catalogs (vs. the "Large" or seasonal "Shop at Home" full catalogs that were mailed out), and Brickset has a number of them in their scan archive like this one from 1988: As for the folded, single-page ones, I've seen those calls "Small Catalog (Sheet)" or "Mini Catalog", and Peeron/PICSL has a few of them (and a lot more of the Medium ones): http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/scans/?ct=1
  18. Ah, I thought that might be the case with the trailer it has! It's beautiful.
  19. Hi Christian - welcome to EB! The Saturn V is such a great set; I can see how that would grab your interest especially given your science/scifi leanings. I'd love to see some of your MOCs. It would be lovely to see some more Start Trek stuff since I think that's underrepresented in Lego when compared to the likes of Star Wars and general SciFi or Anime builds.
  20. I don't have any site statistics to go on or anything, but I agree that the interaction in the threads seems to be a little more terse and a little less jovial than a year or two ago. I do have to wonder if some of that - without getting political - has to do with everything else going on in the world at large right now; that is, just general level of stress and "stuff" happening is sapping some of the time people might spend on EB and possibly also taking out a little bit of the "fun" with it. Speaking just for myself, I've probably been more active over the past year, but in most topics it's not been as deep an interaction, nor do I spend as much time following as many topics and staying involved in them as I used to. I wouldn't go so far as to say EB is unhealthy or fading away (I don't see it becoming a Lugnet-esque wasteland anytime soon), but if there was a way to amp up the happiness level a little bit it certainly wouldn't hurt.
  21. What a great layout, with so many details! I really like your traffic light and that taxicab, and I love that big red bus! Brilliant job on the lighting as well.
  22. Welcome to EB, xadrian! Looking forward to seeing that Capitol MOC once it's done.
  23. Very nice. The sewing machine itself is great, and I like the design of the chair behind it as well!
  24. This is so great! I love the building, from the color scheme, to the dome over the entrance, to the brick extension, to the transmission tower on the top. The vehicles are also lovely; I especially like the Red Rover. Good job on the interiors as well- I also have fondness for that equipment rack. I think the only piece of constructive criticism I have to offer on this is that I'd try to make the "S" on the building sign more curvy (better matching the printed logos you have on the trucks). I thought it was a 5 at first until my brain snapped into the proper context. Maybe something as simple as using cheese slopes at the corners, or making it with flextube instead of brick. I definitely like the rest of the lettering, and the stylized 'i" in Radio is a nice touch as well. Great build!
  25. Welcome to EB, Csaba! The Saturn V is a great way to start back into Lego, that's for sure! UCS sets can be dangerous... but oh so much fun. Happy building!
