  1. Delightful.
  2. Hi beerme - that looks awesome! Maybe this will help with sharing better pictures: The paperclip/upload option on Eurobricks is only for very small images to be used in your signature line here on the board. You only get 100K total, so even 1 regular image would push you above the limit of available space. For sharing photos of MOCs, etc., you'll want to use a 3rd party service and I think most folks would recommend Flickr (if not one of the specifically Lego-oriented hosting sites). Here's a tutorial on linking/embedding Flickr images in your posts: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/97921-flickr-tutorial/
  3. I think I like it a lot... but I will say it's pretty difficult to make it out. You should do a few pics on a neutral background so it doesn't blend in and obscure the great details and greebles.
  4. I am beyond impressed with what you've squeezed in at that scale, with some beautiful techniques. Fantastic use of newer parts on the front wheel wells as well as the whole front end. Those cut-corner pieces coming together for the iconic "V" design on the front is wonderful. I don't love the windscreen, but I really like the connection method and you did a great job integrating it as best you could by using those tooth pieces at the bottom. Really great. Both bumpers are lovely as well - very simple, but it nails the look. And of course working in that sliding van door while still keeping enough room inside to be functional (for minifigs) is excellent. Bravo!
  5. A lot of the technique will depend on the scale you'll be building at. I'd suggest you look at konajra's work: https://www.flickr.com/photos/konajra/ Here's a specific example that's got some nice brick-built hull shaping going on at minifig scale:
  6. Beautiful! I especially like the gear shifter (Nexo)gremlin and the detail on the inside of the doors. Great use of the dart boards, and the angling on the hood is excellent.
  7. Hi Brad - welcome to EB! Plenty of inspiration and pleasant folks here to help you along the way. You might want to do some browsing/searching here for the various tutorials and how-to guides on various shipbuilding topics if you're really not sure where to start. Here's an interesting one as an example: Looking forward to seeing some of your MOCs in the future - happy building!
  8. Hi Andre - welcome to EB! What a lovely and nostalgic way to get back into Lego. Looking forward to seeing some of those vintage sets - happy building!
  9. Wow, I love this one! Always deceptive as to the scale at first glance. The brick wall is indeed excellent, and nice color variation throughout without being distracting. The floor is really nicely done as well, that coffee table looks great, and I like the throw pillows and use of open studs on the couch. Great stuff, as usual.
  10. If you're more concerned about the aesthetics of the design (for this piece) than functional elements, I would take a look in the Model Team / Scale Modeling forum and potentially pose the question there as well. I think the #1 thing you need to do is define your scale for the vehicle. It seems logical that you'd use one of the sizes of Technic treads for the tracks which would then define the rest of the size, but until you've figured that out it's hard to say what would work best for the body shaping. I can think of both a number of System elements as well as Technic panels, etc., that could work well, but it all depends on the final size. Happy building!
  11. I don't know where those color variations are from, but they do exist in the wild: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=13788&name=Minifig, Headgear Hat, Wide Brim Down with Knotted Band&category=[Minifig, Headgear]#T=C https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=87995&name=Minifig, Hair Bubble Style (Afro)&category=[Minifig, Hair]#T=C There are enough for sale of each that I have to assume they were made in decent quantities for some purpose, even if it was just to mix in some extra variety in the BAM bins.
  12. Wow! Beautiful all-around. The first detail that caught my eye was indeed the Friends dresses - what a great use of that part! Everything works so well... hard to single out anything for praise since I'm not finding anything to criticize. Bravo!
  13. Great all-around, but the side fins using the swords/blades are inspired! Nice set of functional features, and a surprisingly good interior as well. Nice build!
  14. I'm impressed with how well you captured the feel and the essential elements inside in a reasonably sized MOC (that is, not too outrageously huge as it easily could be)! All the furniture builds are excellent and the arrangement and display of them is spot-on. Great build!
  15. I think it's a lovely retro-inspired castle! Certainly simple by "modern" castle standards, but for those old Black Falcon guys I think it's great. Nice elements inside, and the base looks nice. I also like the retro catapult. I would agree that the way it tapers toward the back might be a little odd, and at first I assumed it was a ruined tower with the back/sides starting to crumble away, but now I'm thinking that was just for playability (so you can reach inside more easily)? If the walls were full-height on the sides that would be a challenge, but what I would suggest for looks is to enclose the back (even just using more castle wall panels) and having it fold open like some of the old sets. Nice little build - thanks for sharing!
  16. Welcome to EB, khouji. Happy building!
  17. Hi deadRahi! If JoeyB didn't hit on the part you're talking about (and I guess for general reference), note that the paperclip/upload option on Eurobricks that you're talking about is only for very small images to be used in your signature line here on the board. You only get 100K total, so even 1 regular image probably pushed you to the limit of available space. For sharing photos of MOCs and other general items like this, you'll want to use a 3rd party service and I think most folks would recommend Flickr (if you're not using a Lego specific service like Brickshelf, etc.). Here's a tutorial on linking/embedding Flickr images in your posts: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/97921-flickr-tutorial/
  18. Yes, it would have been excellent to have that extra articulation, but still an excellent job even getting this to market! I suppose the issue for TLG would be what builds (besides something like this) would require those stronger joints since they'd probably be too rigid for many uses as well. Thanks for sharing, and for that additional info via Brickset as well! Any chance you could share some of the better designs at some point? Ones that weren't good enough for the mass-market QC that TLG does but might be fun to see or implement for us AFOLs? I know there will be plenty of AFOL solutions shared here with mods, but it'd be really interesting to see a master builder's take as well.
  19. Hi Rob - welcome to EB! That's a great looking Twin Towers project you've got there, and a nice set of photos of the process and design, too. Thanks for sharing, and happy building! Here you go, Holodoc: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brutalist_architecture
  20. Looks like they're actually fixed in a slightly splayed position if you look closely at this photo of the black lion: Yes, they are. You can see that in the detail photos, but looks like only a few and on relatively easy-to-place pieces so I'm not that worried by them in this case. Like others I think it would be awesome if it had minifigs of the paladins and a bit more articulation, but I still think this is a fantastic set given the constraints TLG puts on themselves for stability, etc.. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for mods of this to add some of those extra features. I'm also hoping they'll be at least 1 follow-on to this (a castle set, or a Robeast for Volton to battle) that includes some mining characters... but I do agree that these not being to mining scale or designed to still fit pilots inside does make that less likely than things like the Star Destroyer that still has a minifig-scale interior. Come on July 23...!
  21. That's really lovely. I very much like the integrated gate, path, and bridge!
  22. The "extra" parts are not included in the inventory included with the set, and in my experience folks aren't expecting the spare pieces unless the set is N/MISB. Now, it can be a selling point if you indicate that the spare pieces are also included, but shouldn't be something you need to worry about as long as the set itself is complete.
  23. Hi CodyCorvetteZR1 - welcome to EB! That looks like a nice executive car, and I look forward to seeing more of your builds. FYI, Eurobricks is not for hosting images and that small 100k of local storage is for your profile picture and potentially small images/icons used in your board signature (which is why you had to upload such a tiny picture, as I'm sure you noticed). To post images in topics/comments, you want to use a 3rd party host like Flickr and deep-link the images. Here's a tutorial on that: Happy building!
  24. Hmm - to soften significantly I'd expect you'd need to get up into the 200° F+ range which I doubt you'd see inside a hot car (even here in Phoenix it's more like 160° on a really hot day). ABS is amorphous, so hard to say exactly what happens at what temperature, but I guess the other question is: are you sure they're genuine Lego? Since you've got a couple different lines I assume so, but I know some knockoff brands are far more susceptible to heat changes/damage.
  25. Yup, you got it. Nice looking ice cream shop. I really like the colors you chose for the tile floor, the booths look nice, and there's a nice assortment of equipment and advertising, etc., behind the counter.
