  1. Great work on the stairs. Are they stable? The large kegs downstairs are also very well done. I guess that hole in the bottom is good for something after all... Steve
  2. I think it needs a wall or something in the back. Maybe a wall covered with computer panels, hoses, equipment and whatnot. Steve
  3. I'm not quite sure what it is, but it doesn't work for me. I think it may be the balcony. I'm not real fond of how it sticks out so much from the main structure. Looks too top heavy, like its going to tip over. The structure is too realistic (not whimsical enough) to pull off, what looks to be physically questionable. Its also a bit too square, everywhere... I do like the landscaping (nice trees) and the front stairs. Also how you've done the windows is quite nice. The fence too. I'm also jealous of your pony. Steve
  4. Transparent techinic pins? Are those available in any sets, or just some more of those strange unofficially released parts? The swords make great wings. Steve
  5. Ah, well there you go. Guess I didn't look far enough down the page... Steve
  6. Check this story out: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,514714,00.html Steve
  7. I was a bit surprised that I hadn't seen one of these before, so I decided to make one: An Indian Cliff Dwelling The view from above So far, its still a little bit in progress, which is why the picture quality is kind of poor. The pueblos open up, but I haven't gotten around to furnishing the interiors. Any suggestions for improvement? Steve
  8. Got to be a town subtheme. There are too many farm machines for it to be a wild west subtheme. Steve
  9. Very nice work, as usual. I like the pillars on the balcony, looks very run down and rickety. Steve
  10. I tend to stick mostly to sets with minifigures in them. Though I've made exceptions for the creator houses. Sometimes I'll buy a set just for the figures, assuming its not too expensive (less than $20). I've got enough bricks to build almost anything I could want. So when I buy sets, I'm mostly looking for either a really good model (green grocer) new parts or old parts in new colors or a particularly liked theme (castle, pirates). Steve
  11. Too many colors. Other than that, it looks good. I like the sloped roof over the porch. I think if you put a rim around the roof, it'd look better too. Steve
  12. So that's one vote for kids only, one vote for adults... Steve
  13. I searched the forums and didn't find an answer. Admittedly, I didn't look very hard, but: Is the free ticket to Legoland included with the BM membership for an adult, or just for children? I'm going to be in So. California this summer and am planning to make a pilgrimidge to Legoland CA. So if the BM ticket is for adults, I'll just sign up for that and get the ticket. Steve

I'm not sure I like the yellow. It seems too bright for the more muted colors of the CC style sets. I'm also not sure I like the plated roof, when all the other sets [primarily] use sloped bricks. I also think parts of it are a little flat (specifically, the part above the first floor, but below the windows on the second, it needs something more there). The awning over the main door could use a little more support, maybe two poles on either corner. I really like the seashells and the angled corner. Steve
  15. I think I prefer the smaller size, even if it isn't to scale. The smaller would fit nicer into a town display. Steve
  16. Sadly, I agree. Too similar that they'd be competing for the same market base. True, but Indy is better than nothing... Steve
  17. Ehhhhhhh, I'm less than impressed... Steve
  18. To chop up the second boat, like in the movie... Steve
  19. I don't think the new sets are nearly as nice as the old ones. Though I can't exactly explain why. And its not just nostalgia, as I really like the new castle line. Steve
  20. Yes. Yes. No. I don't have many/any of the classic town style buildings. I'm sticking mostly with the CC style and building some of my own CC style buildings. I hope to create a little city scene of them. I think they are too different from the classic sets to go together well. It'd be like putting a UCS set into a minifig Star Wars display. Just doesn't look right. Steve
  21. They really should have included the stern of a ship with a prop and made one of the boats explodable... Steve
  22. Oh, and here I was thinking we might actually have some cool Lego mugs coming... Steve
  23. I like option one. Also, though I'm hesitant to mention it, it appears you can vote more than once... It seems they never learn... Steve
  24. Pasties. Steve
  25. I didn't get any notification on my Mac, but now on the PC, I'm getting a warning. May want to avoid the link... Steve
