MOCs: 4-piece (!) blender, popcorn stand, and more!
Athos replied to Still Raindrop's topic in LEGO Town
I'm not sure about the scale of the blender. The console is so big compared to the container... Steve -
I really like the town hall, because of the color. And the columns were done in a way I did not expect. I did think it was a bit shallow though. I'd like the theater a lot more, if it hadn't been all stickered up. I really wish they'd printed the movie posters at least. But the design was very nice. I didn't like the garage much at all... Don't really know why. Maybe I'm just not much into auto-repair... Steve

I really like the tiled brown part on the back tower. It really looks wooden. Steve

Thanks for the kind words. That's the one. They just call it the ghost train. Someday I'm going to go take a ride, when I have an extra $40 or so I don't want to spend on Lego... Steve

A pig would be a very nice addition to any ship. That way the sailors could have some fresh meat... Some flour/grain bag pieces would also be nice. New printed maps. I really don't like the Indy one in the current line. Civilian hair pieces. Powdered wigs would be nice for a governor figure. Brown treasure chests. I don't like the gold ones at all. The treasure is supposed to be in the chest, not the chest. I also really like the idea of a globe. Steve

Check out this Egyptian villa if found via Modelbuildingsecret's blog. Some seriously nice work in there, particularly the coloring around the interior doorway. Steve

Wow that's quite a nice little set. White and black C3POs... I really need to get to an EB event... If only they'd stop holding them in Europe... Steve

I don't really see the point. Particularly of freezing Indy... Now maybe Batman paired up with Mr. Freeze... Or a hoth trooper... But why Indy? Steve

Here are my 5: 1. Death Star by Baronsat (which I like because it looks so much like the official set, but came so many years before) 2. AT-AT by Ras (which I like because it is a very unique diorama design) 3. Don't Try It Anakin!" by Darth Yoda (which I like because the lava is so interesting to look at) 4. Emperor's Arrival by Morten Sonne (which I like because it shows what I would want to do, if I had the army building compulsion) 5. What if...? by Der Seb (which I like because its so goofy, and I like the placement of that radar dish) I hope I win!!! Steve

I really like the details and accenting on the white arch in the second one. Good work there. I'm not real fond of the structures in the first and third ones. They look way too substantial on the top level, when paired with the lighter arches on the bottoms. Its a bit like an elephant's body put onto flamingo legs. Particularly the red one gives me that impression. Steve

Baron von Barron explores prehistoric cave art. The pictographs are believed to be painted by the minifigs' ancient ancestor homo duplosis: The whole ages 3-6 gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=398288 http://www.flickr.com/photos/37777874@N06/...57622125114170/ Other adventurer vignettes: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=119054 Steve

Looks like we get to enjoy the simple pleasure of a monkey knife fight... Steve

Is there another meaning for ferkel? I don't want to get excited for pigs and find out ferkel can also mean 'yet another boring uninspired farmer figure who you could get in 50 other sets' Steve

I think the dark grey bricks are too regular. They look like the tower has the chicken pox. What you could do is make them fill more than one brick-level at a time; stack some on top of each other. I do like how you've used the inverted slopes to make little holes in the wall. And the river is a nice touch. Steve

OK, I did a train avatar and even a trainy (that's trainy, not tranny) signature... Steve

Here is a link to our local train yard. Steve

I like trains and should really do up a train layout. But I just have never had the space or the permanancy to do it. Plus I've decided not to buy any train stuff to save money... But I do think trains are fun. We've got a historic/vintage trainyard that runs steam and diesel engines in town and I really like hearing the whistle throughout the day. Maybe I'll run down to the yard this weekend and take some pictures... I've been meaning to do it for a while now... Steve

My wife got one yesterday. They're pretty crappy, but better than the last Batman ones. The one my wife got (a white and green one) had only three pieces: the wheel base, the body of the car and the windshield/roof. I found it odd that there were more pieces of McNuggets (four) than there were in the lego set... Steve

Joshua fit the battle of Jericho, Jericho, Jericho

Fought would make more sense. But it appears there are lyrics for both online... Steve -
Searching for RARE lego sword....(what set it came in)

Here's my [ahem] black sword: Steve -
Vig. 85c Stan joined the Royal Navy to see the world. Being stationed on the most boring rock in the sea was not what he had in mind... Though he did have to admit there were worse places to be. The roof was one of the most interesting he'd ever seen... And the fishing was quite good; today he'd hoped to catch a dolphin or two... And a better view of the flags: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Pi.../piratebay2.jpg And the shack even has a bit of an interior: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Pi.../piratebay3.jpg The gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=396039 http://www.flickr.com/photos/37777874@N06/...57621859484071/ Steve
