  1. Yay! Finally, I'll be relatively near a deal. Rather than 400 miles away. Steve
  2. Uh... I think you're using it wrong... Steve
  3. Very reminscient of the Adventurers River Expedition boat. But that works here. My only real complaint is the background doesn't really fit with a southern river boat. Steve
  4. Very simple and very cool. I like the roofs. I wonder if you used some technic 1x1 bricks with round holes, rather than the square holes. And, I must say, I'm quite jealous of your background making skills. Steve
  5. Yes, some full frontal shark nudity! Steve
  6. That ring thing is pretty stupid. Why does Lego come up with such dumb treasures? Think of the manufacturing costs and molding effort that must have been put into making such a lame accessory. Simple treasure would have been so much better. Steve
  7. I really like the pulpit. I think the CCC7 has a time period limitation, which ends at the London Fire (1660s, right?), so your MOC's description may cause you some heartburn... Though I'm not sure how nitpicky the judges will be. Steve
  8. Well, I was going to direct to you this page. Though after looking at the prices, I can see why you're trying to make you own. Steve, who thinks he should probably try to sell some his Batman stuff...
  9. Here is my first entry for the CCC7. It belongs in the Eastern Life category. I created it mostly as an excuse to try out the texturing of the sand and the bonsai tree: The humble zen master grooms his garden, unaware of the ninja assassin waiting to strike. 10. Here is another entry for the CCC7. This entry is for the technological advance category: Crop rotation increases production of crops and avoids a decrease in soil fertility. In the Middle Ages, the three-year rotation was practiced by farmers in Europe with a rotation of rye or winter wheat, followed by spring oats or barley, then letting the soil rest by leaving it fallow during the third stage. 11. Nice. I like the cold feeling of the snowy landscape. Lego really needs to make a frozen northlands castle line. Steve
  12. What are the Carlin coordinates? Its in the middle of the Nevada desert. I live not too far away from there. Steve
  13. Nice. I especially like the old woman with the red dress, that piece works very well with the printing. The papoose is also a clever idea. Not sure about the guy with yellow printing on his legs. Yellow always says skin to me... so it looks like he's wearing an orange thong and brown chaps backwards... Steve
  14. Vikings didn't have horned helmets either. And knights didn't fight dragons. And pirates didn't have skull and crossbones flags. Its all about capturing the fictional archtypes of the cultures portrayed. Steve
  15. An indian raid on a covered wagon or log cabin would also be nice. Though probably not PC enough for Lego to do. Not that I blame them. Thanks. Its an older MOC. From around April. Though I do still have it together, as I plan to furnish the interior of the pueblos. Steve
  16. Buffalo would be a big improvement. Maybe a grinding rock? A primitive corn farm? Pueblos and cliff dwellings, too. Steve
  17. Well, it wasn't exactly helpful, since there were about hundred ships to peruse and no category for that size. (Oooh, I got to use a pirate smiley) Now this is exactly what I was looking for! Steve
  18. I've noticed much of the pirate MOCing love goes to large ships, on the scale of a BSB or the like. I, however, find the small ships, like the merchant ship from the Imperial Trading Post to be rather charming. And, as I have not done many pirate MOCs and that size seems more managable, I was curious if anybody had some nice MOCs in that size that I could use as inspiration. Steve
  19. Does it have to be a new MOC, if not, I've got tons of Xmas MOCs: Vignettes A Christmas Carol Vignettes Virtual Xmas Cards Miniland Nativity Christmas Tree Christmas Angel And this little gem... Steve
  20. Wow. I really like the sloped cabin walls in the back. The only thing I don't like are the sails. They don't look very Lego-like, though there isn't much you can do when making your own sails. I think they're a little too realistic, compared to the figures. So much good stuff, its hard to even comment on it. Steve
  21. Here is one that I made: Steve
  22. I like them if they are done well. Not like Tygurah and Jun-Chi from the Adventurers, which were pretty dumb. Steve
  23. Better? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Misc/kite4.jpg Steve
  24. Lets go fly a kite; Up to the highest height; Lets go fly a kite; And send it soaring; Up through the atmosphere; Up where the air is clear; Oh, lets go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh; Fly a kite! I thought a kite flying scene would be nice for the Asian category of the CCC, so I went to look for kite designs and found none. So I decided to try to develop my own. But I don't think I'm going to get around to building the scene for the contest, I wanted to at least show off the designs. And maybe see if anyone else had better ones. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Misc/kite1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Misc/kite2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Misc/kite3a.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Misc/kite3b.jpg Steve
  25. That will be very nice for doing tiled walls. Steve
