It'd be fun if everyone posted a picture of their idea, so we'd have 101 pictures of different uses... Like the last two posts did. I think the witch is funny. Steve

I really like the lantern. I'm going to steal the design for my next MOC. The sideways barrell is great too. I'm not sure about the cloth part though. Its too square and I can't get past it coming from a truck. Steve

Tips on how to make a perfect Viking horde
Athos replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ooooh-kay... While the thread is somewhat interesting, I'm curious as to why you posted it. Has this been an on-going problem for people, not knowing how to make a viking town? And since I'm never one to shy away from hijacking a thread to plug my own MOCs: how does this fit with your suggestions? Steve -
What are your Top 3 Favorite Elements from the 2009 Pirate Wave
Athos replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
Did we even get any new molds for the pirate line? We got some new colored elements, but no new parts. Which is rather unusual for a line, isn't it? The only possible one I can think of is the telescope, but was it used earlier? And I guess the castle wall element made its debut in the fort. Steve -
You could probably gin up a black ship using the viking long boat hull pieces from the Skeleton Ship Attack set. It may take some work to make it less viking and more pirates, but if you were really wanting black ships... Steve

Wow! Super-terrific prizes here. I'm especially glad I got second prize, rather than first. I've been really wanting a second ugha warrior hair. Troll king is very nice too. But a black C-3PO? That is the best part of the whole deal. Thanks for the prizes. Steve

If they're showing the impulses in Canada, can we conclude they'll be available in North America? Steve

This one reminds me of that Seinfeld episode: "The pig says 'my wife is a s-l-u-t'" Steve

That's nice snot work with the log bricks. I've been thinking about trying something similar to see how it looked. Now I don't have to. Steve

What is the hardest Lego set you have ever built?
Athos replied to SharkMan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The Green Grocer, the second time. I had it stored in ziplock storage bags (with no sorting at all). And it was difficult to the point of being no fun to try and put it back together. Will have to sort it by floor next time for sure... Steve -
Nice work. That will definitely give some variety to western creations. Steve

I'm not a huge fan of the cheese tiles. Maybe if we got them in a few more dimesions I'd like them more. And it seems to me they throw in about a dozen of them (often unnecessarily) to raise the piece count. Steve

It doesn't look very Star Wars-y to me. It looks more like the icy Alpha Team, which is probably because you used so many AT parts. Though it is a decent Alpha Team MOC. Steve

I was hoping to see a layout more like what the Brickster had. Steve

OK, here is version three. I added some more color, raised the second floor, made the building symetrical and added some architectural details. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/In...deptstore1c.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/In...deptstore2c.jpg Steve

So... basically, you think this is better than the Fire Brigade? Personally, I think its the best building since the last three... Steve

That's a whole lotta purple. Steve

Awww... I was hoping for the ring. Still a nice MOC and I look forward to seeing the arena. Steve

Or you could turn it into a Vietnamese restaurant and spell Pho's. Or make it a beer brewery and call it Hops... Steve

There really isn't any reference I'm trying to copy exactly, so your suggestions are most helpful. Steve

I started working on this modular building. Its loosely based on the old JC Penny's in my hometown and the clothing store in the town I live in now. Stage One, including experimental second floor and the beginnings of an interior Stage Two, including the finished second floor. Steve

I agree with the Brickster as well. And I'm not real fond of the brown legs with the black torso on the city slicker guy either. The rebel torso works very well on the rancher. The zipper on Indy's coat may be a bit anachronistic though. I don't think the zipper was invented until later. Steve

Now comes the question of the day: Do I put a bathroom in the second and third floor? I don't really want to modify the structure to put rooms on each floor. But at the same time, to not have a bathroom seems incomplete. And leaving just one big room on each floor just doesn't seem right. Any suggestions? Steve

I like the architecture and the building design. I'm not sure I like the lime green, light blue and yellow. They're a bit bright and a little too much with all three together. But it is a lot better than I would have expected when using those colors. And, its already started to grow on me... Steve

I always thought of the chief as the guy with the big feather headdress and this guy as the medicine man... Steve
