My dad had a 20th Anniversairy Macintosh a couple of years ago. And we also needed to sent it back few times. Not only did Apple fix the computer in the end but the also gave us a Nice wallstreet Powerbook G3 which was really high end at the time. I love apple (except for ipods because they break all the time).

I got the City Adventcalendar 2006 today. It was @ Fun in Belgium. It's the only store who stocks them at the moment. They also had a pick a brick:you can fill a bag for 6.99. I filled a bag with 146 parts so I think thats a good deal. The bag was nearly exploding though :). Some parts are cool; 1X4 black slopes: I needed those (I bought like forty), Clear blue and red bricks. Old style wind screens (I bought five!). The only stupid thing was the had like tons of shutters and glass parts but no window frames *sing* . All in all it was fun! (get it wink wink)

Well to make it simple: Lego has crap design and boxart. What do you think that mothers buy? A mobile defence tank (which screams violence ) or a happy camper ? This is currently the most sought after toy in the store I work: http://www.wehkamp.nl/winkelen/p_produkt.a...mmer=660659&LC= Both boys and girls come screaming to the playmobil display and start to punch the boxes out of sheer joy! I haven't seen a single kid do that with lego boxes. (Although: one kid was super happy he got the last of those limited edition yellow exo force mechs). Another problem with lego is that small kids are not able to put the sets together themselves. Parents don't want to be involved. Last but not least I think is: Playmobil does not discontinue a winner. Popular sets continue to be produced even if the theme has ended a long time ago. some playmobil sets have been in production for over ten years other only one year. Lego also ended the mail order catalog while play mobil still offers one with +/- 30 exclusives and add-on packs. (including retro-releases). Lego really needs to do this, not everybody thrusts the internet.

I love the chocolate factory I might even order it. But i was wondering, salvobrick is it hard to change the building to tan bricks and are there no windows in the lego factory. I can't actually use it, because my graphics card is from a very old school *knight*

I'm not to fond of the flower thingies sticking out of the roofs. And didn't vikings built round houses with an open roof in the middle for the fire?
-
You bought them at the Ultima secondhand toyshop didn't you? How much did he ask for the police station? I know he was over asking on the WW scene

I think some of your buildings are a bit to square-ish. But otherwise it looks great. I would love to see it in real life!

Like Alex54 I want my houses to have an open backside, so that they resemble real lego sets. I want to give it an illusion of real, but not built exactly human to minifig scale. But more like the "legoland style" of the eighties. On the other hand there is reality I have to deal with : money. because I don't have many bricks yet I have to compromise on design. But having a limited number of bricks also sparks creativity On the desgin end I want a bit of a dreamy Town with a big mixture of styles and culture. To make it cute but still believe-able.

He enjoys experimenting with it. @hobbes> I was just kidding!
