  1. This is completly beside the point. for example: this model would look completly different with a motor attached. It would need to be much longer and loose it's compact view. On the other hand one could simply stuff a motor in a waggon.
  2. It seems to me that most models are not designed to fit a motor. this saddens me a lot :( Btw here is a folder with some nice pics http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2373944
  3. I think I'll be getting this set before I get the CC. The cafe corner is simply too perfect, I would built it once and then let it sit on a desk for years, to big to fit on my current lay-out. But I think I would have a lot of fun with this set, the only thing that is holding me back at the moment are the online instructions, I never built near my Mac, and since it is already six years old ( it can't run LDD 1.5 because of my gfx card). I need to be near my dad's Mac(pfffft). I would prefer it if the instructions where available in pdf or book form so i could simply print them out. But i'm really looking forward from learning from the masters and collecting pieces to built models in another color.
  4. Maybe you should look at these guys: http://www.gamersquarter.com/ They also have a free online pdf magazine(of very high quality) but they also offer print copies for those who like em. Sadly only in B&W
  5. Very nice, I've seen the already on flickr, but still very nice to see. That texas state railroad looks like something awesome aswell
  6. Instead of finishing up the shop, I built another house today. This one is heavly based on the Blacksmith shop by daniel siskind. I rebuilt the roof from a picture on BS. this house is much smaller and I will not bother with the interior until I've finnished the shop.
  7. Nice, i would use green baseplates because vikings didn't live in the desert! I think you should try a viking roundhouse and they didn't have chimneys
  8. Super nice read! I wonder when they will finally go paper, that would be much nicer.
  9. I like it, it will malke a nice addition to my current idillyc mountain village (if it survives until this set comes out!),but I agree with hobbes that for a "city" station it is way to small especially considering the size of the vehicles these days. It's like the trains are designed by another team then the city line
  10. There is a hatch right above the staircase!
  11. No Problemo, It looks very pretty. I'll check 2007 catalog if any new western stuff is heading our way. I love the look off playmobil but at the moment I can still restrain myself from buying it. It would simply be to much to keep to collections going!
  12. It's cheaper in england then in the rest of europe!
  13. Unlike you , I only have small table to put my lego on :'-( . This means I cannot keep older moc work around, also the lack of a big collection is also one of the factors. That's how I explained it aswell :). But actually the medieval guys and the other house are remnants of the previous lay-out which included my Black Falcon fortress, I didn't take pictures of that lay-out. In any case thanks for the kind words everybody.
  14. This set only means one thing for me, I will probably not buy any other lego set this year :) The second problem is that it won't fit well into my layout but the sheer beauty of it makes me want to buy it.
  15. I have only one thing to say: holy megablock!
  16. I took some more pictures perhaps a bit to medieval for modern times :)
  17. B-OV-32A I started to build on this size because my houses and black falcon fortress looked pitifull next to my shiny new BNSF. So I needed some bigger houses. It may look like a Middle-Age house but the interior will be modern, since I'm a trainy . The cellar is for wine and treasure, the first floor will be a shop, the second and third one will be the living quarters of the shopowner. The shop front: Sadly I only have hinges in those colors *sniff*. On this photo I noticed I used a bit to much dark gray for the front. Before the door I will make a stairway. The front and the back with the obligatory ivy ;). A final view, please tell me what you think: If you want to see the photos full sized, click here Remember it's not yet finished, but I already wanted to show off my work.
  18. I really don't car about minifig armies. First of all because I don't care about war (it's violent and it destroys people). and secondly because the minifigs don't lend themselves for a natural looking medieval army. The minifigs are way to uniform, and medieval armies weren't.
  19. Normally that would be 75 euro :'-( Maybe importing will be cheaper, dpends on shipping ofcourse.
  20. Aaargh what evil prices are those!! That cafe better loook damn fine!
  21. I voted other. Why? The Ultimate train collector set. And I'm still thinking that caf
  22. V-LV-49D My modern mini cooper
  23. Erm simply use them? Make your city look a bit more realistic and naturally grown with curves and crossroads:
  24. Very nice, I love what you have done with your limited parts collection. (although I see some sick people:(THE FLESHIES!) I myself am also working on a market square, (although in a different time period) Keep on MOCing! @Phes: Buy yourself a building bonanza or the new house and you'll have enough roof pieces for a while!
  25. Well it is 16 + so little kids like you are not allowed to buy it. Furthermore it is clearly stated on the box that no track or engine is included.
