  1. Some sweet deals for januari sales at shop@home. I got both Gear grinders and Knights castle wall for 50% I hope other countries get the same deal. :) The gear grinders look aces for people who feel the need to make more minifig cars. I need to buy some hair pieces so I can turn those knights into normal chappies. Well good shopping: http://shop.lego.com/SalesAndDeals/
  2. This castle looks great! I hope they don't change it to much for it's final release. Maybe I would even buy it. My first castle set in over fifteen years! Much better then all the crappy castles from the ninetees with raised baseplates. I too dislike the dragon but i guess it can't be helped it still a childs toy Oh Alex I count six good guys and four baddies. Isn't that a good amount?
  3. Hey thanks that's some good info.
  4. For a pet roject I would like to make lego look-a-likes for another type of figure. The studs and the size would be completely different. But how would I go about making these bricks? Should I need to make a prototype in airdry or something like that? Or draw in a CAD program? And what type of comany should I try to contact for the production of said bricks. Are there actually companies out there who produce small amounts off plastic? Well any suggetions or info would be appreciated!
  5. This stuff looks awesome. I'll be getting the trash car and the cement mixer. The gas station also looks lovely but I already have three :)
  6. Indeed good luck with that Brickster. My favorite set was the streetcleaner and his little cart. I also liked he garage cart and the santaclause chimney. Happy holidays everybody may joy come to you all!
  7. I've just been back in to the hobby since last summer. At first my girlfriend rolled with her eyes. Because she thought it was a fling that would pass in a couple of weeks. (I'm always spending money on silly things...) But now for sinterklaas she bought me a little set. She was even complaining about the fact there are no more sets like the Paradiso ones and that the city sets are all cold and distant. Sadly her mom gave all her legos away many years ago. Most of my friends don't mind, they know I'm always in too funky stuff (e.g. I use a Mac and buy vynl instead of cd's etc etc..) My mother thinks it's cute (it's thanks to her I still have most of my original boxes)
  8. Aren't there still hovercraft routes between Belgium and England (Ostend/Dover)? I remember seeing those but that was already six years ago or so.... @Brickster: Hovercrafts are leftovers from an age that man still believed that everything could happen (travel to the moon, super speedy boats ,the concorde). Sadly all those machines are very expensive and wastefull.)
  9. Perhaps this fig is a preview for the figurines included with the dumptruck next year!
  10. I too modded some more cars,my fleet of civillian cars is ever growing. Maybe we need a new car thread: anyway please check them out: http://flickr.com/photos/highlandcattle/
  11. Or they are trying to get rid of their surpluss stock of curves :(
  12. That's real good looking paul! I also like the way you integrated thos classic sets in your town looks nice! The city hall also looks great, all that tan. (I really love tan) Can we get a better shot of that cinema?
  13. And 70's surely?
  14. On a lighter note: My sister is an illustrator and she has to make a drawing about this story for a russian magazine. I'lll show it to you all when the magazine gets published (she is not sure if she is allowed to show it already.)
  15. I bought the Breezeway caf
  16. That monorail is amazing! Lego desginers sure had more balls in those days. There is somebody from the dutch lego fanclub who makes layouts in oldskool style with blue track I'll try to find the pictures
  17. I only got it two weeks ago, so it has bearable, but still.... I only got it two weeks ago, so it has bearable, but still....
  18. Tomorrow We can open the first hatch!!! X-D X-D
  19. Ah teenagers, I thought eurobricks was +18 only ?
  20. I actually would love to see less Licences and more original themes. I love the nature idea! Playmobil (again :-X ) has some great nature sets. I love to see TLC top that.
  21. I don't tink the withe collar stuff would be boring,Sting. Playmobil has a lot of "boring" sets and the people seem the pick them up at a super fast rate. Also the modern city sets also do really well , so bring on more "boring" sets. The only people who seem to pick up things like Exoforce for their kids are mariginal people (I think you call them chavs in the UK). Lego needs more "boring" themes to win back over their lost clients from playmobil.(especially girls!) The cruise night theme sounds an awfull lot like the racers theme and they are so easly adjustable. I would like to see real world cars in minifig scale (four wide ,only one seat) that's a challenge! Like a lada and a beetle all the classics.
  22. Nice beginning, but why doesn't he like building the sets himself? Building is all the fun!
  23. The last two weeks I've also been working on some civilian cars and such. You can check them out at my flickr page. I've added inspirations and sets used there. But you are welcome to comment on them here :) Only the three first pics: http://flickr.com/photos/highlandcattle/ I'm know looking for this years autopod, since I liked the 2004 one so much.
  24. Wow great modifications. I really need to rethink if I want to buy these racers. BTW paul nice gallery.
  25. Why are not all sets from city included? Or is it because they are from 2005, for example the streetsweeper.
