    I would like to see a fully motorized Backhoe,crane or telehandler. But I will probably have built all of those before the lego group does.

    I make a two bladed thing last night,It runs straight of the buggy motor with out gearing. I used a worm gear to angle the two panels and then added wheels to it..........It moves forward by it's own power but only left or right.

    I would agree the 8043 excavator is a good set if you can get it.

    Do you have bushes in-between the sprocket and beams?

    I would get another 8043 excavator and the 8070 super car,those two sets would get most of it done,I wonder if I could build it it red for you?

    I think I spent about 200 uk pounds,but I did have a lot of the parts myself. Making this in red should be easy enough I would guess that 350 euro's should be enough to by the parts if you use the power function parts from the 8043.

    That is ok,I am going to finish it any way,I could do with the practice and it looks like a fun model to make anyway. I did notice the problem with the instructions before my last post.

    Yes Jennifer's excavator does use the old style,maybe you could try putting the undercarriage from that under your crane.

    Does your crawler crane use the old style grey studded turntable or uses the new stud-less version?

    I can't see that working,what about a micro motor for a tail rudder?

    could yo not do a chain drive to the other out put of the buggy motor? This might be quite a big issue.
