  1. I've heard of cement shoes, but cement pants?... nevermind, I don't think I want to know ;-) Anyway, thanks for sharing yet another cool vig.
  2. Will two horn/teeth peices work for ya?
  3. Did we have a term for no studs showing? I originally thought SNOT was synonmous with no studs or a minimal amount of studs visable. If your'e trying for the snot technique, I don't really think studs showing on the side is nessesaraly much better in many cases.
  4. Images of this are going into my inspirational lego mocs folder (that's a significant compliment, just so you know *y* ) I like results of the the octagonal "round" towers with the cylinders and the embelishment of each wall as well as the roof's slope bricks useage. It is one of the best round towers out there. The astrologers are pretty gosh darn cool too.
  5. It's just that I prefer brown hulls. The colors used are good but a brown hull would be perfect, for me anyway.
  6. I have to go with 6057 Sea Serpent. *wub* It is the one set listed and one of the few sets of all that I believe is near perfect and has no need to be modified in any way. I do love the other ships as well aside from the Constellation(is too blocky for my taste) and the fire nation ship (because it represents a steel hulled ship, although it would make a nice parts pack)
  7. All the sets are stocked in my local Kansas City TRU. (I didn't see the large drilling unit, but all the rest were definately in stock) Though, I think I bought the last mothership X-D
  8. I especially like the Maccus (the hammerhead shark guy) moc *y* the steam room and the dock are nice too. I would like to moc up an empress junk as well, I'm just not so motivated presently *sad*
  9. I reckon this could be a sloop. It is closer to what I consider the scale of a lego "pirate's ship" should be. (smuggeling is not that far removed from piracy) I any case, I realy like the look and feel of this moc *y*
  10. If playability equals the interchangability of a piece and accuracy equals the realism of a piece or moc, I'm going with playability (interchangable pieces) first. Realism is very important to me but not if it sacrafices the versatilty of of a part. The fun is the chalenge of making a realistic model from parts that can be used in a multitude of ways. If I was too concerned with accuracy/realism I would just buy a detailed model kit or sculpt the subject. I do that on occasion but Lego bricks are far more enjoyable.
  11. She likes chihauhau dogs, so she can't be all bad.
  12. I'm up for another go at this. But you should know my entry is going to be purple or sand blue again. I like it because it's the most alien of colors *alien* I think? Anyway, unless you have prizes in mind, you should probably call it a challenge rather than a contest.
  13. I just wanted to admit this wizard from my enchanted tree project, Olfhere the Wise I was especially pleased with how he turned out, simple yet detailed. Sorry I don't have a workshop or bird for him, perhaps later if I am so inclined to do so ;-)
  14. oh. ok, I know that one. X-D So it has retractable landing gear! Are they individually manual or on a hinge or what? Because mine is "semiautomatic" (They all raise and lower at once) what ever they are, they are on a small scale (wich i like) and looks worth looking into.. *y*
  15. I can't seem to find any official "4943 F-14 Tomcat" set or instructions?
  16. I'm just checking in to let you all know I am still lurking around, but I hit one of my grey ages when I don't build too much. This means I didn't enter the Classic castle contest with this creation *sad* I will however be taking some more detailed photos of it some time after may 4th. And thankyou for all the enthusiastic responses so far.
  17. Hmm... Is it fictional? :-) _________________ The more fantasy, the better IMO. Wether it's futuristic or alien technology or magick and monsters, I'm all for it. The Harry Potter licence gives us some excelent fantasy elements even if you're not particularly found of the theme itself. And yes it may be redundant at times, but that's fine with me. Let's look at dragons for instance, There are a lot of dragons but there are many different types and ways of building them. Oh no! I just realized, I don't have any official dragon :'-( Well, I do have the Viking wyvern.
  18. I sometimes have dreams about dating too. Does that count? :-D
  19. I like this one the best so far This person uses clay to bond most of the pieces. All of my efforts to emulate Metroid has been centered more on the SNES version gun ship this is not mine, but is one of the better versions I've found. My attemps were met with limited success. *sad*
  20. bridge up you can tell there is something odd by the key hole in the mouth area. If you insert a staff or spear it releases the bridge. here I used a torch handle.
  21. I'm glad you liked it. :-) If by the Homba lacking details, you mostly mean lacking greebles then I agree. I would like it even more if it had more expossed internal parts. :-$ I wanted an airtight canopy, but I couldn't achieve the overall rounded form I wanted with the enclosed variations I tried ;-) I am content with an implied extension of the window. You mean the battlestar Viper fighters? ;-) That is the only thing I like about that show :-P :-D My 'pontoons' are slightly derived from the starfox arwing, but mostly I just needed some extra character to the wing ends. __________________________________ I voted for Rookyr tree fighter. I like the organically grown feature. I love the idea of strange alien lifeforms be it plant, animal, fungus, or whatever. The more unusual, the better ;-)
  22. B'Owl!!! This is one of the parody advertisment skits from the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Good Job It is possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen :-D X-D I wish everything on the show could be this funny. EDIT: It seems that that original link is gone so here another B'Owl video. This one has the first part of a hacky sac skit as well, b'owl is at the end.
  23. Indeed! *wub* I wasn't expecting a longship hull 8-
  24. Has anyone considered the Clikits sea shells and star fish pieces. I was waiting for a set to show up at a local store so I could have a look, but it looks like it's never going to happen. I'll have to bricklink them if they are not too expensive.
