  1. Good observation. I've added them to the first post of this thread.
  2. We didn't expect them this fast, but still, the new pirates sets are spotted. Thanks to our member Sir Dano for bringing this news to us. We thank Joe Meno and Mike Huffman for taking these wonderful pictures. Discuss here!
  3. There's always room for one more. Welcome Marc! I'll leave that decision up to the teachers. There are threads in the academy where you can discuss such requests. Your review is good but there's some room for improvement if you want to bring it up to academy standards.
  4. Extremely nice entry. The combination of minifig scale and micro scale for the background is experimental and creative but the amazing result proves it was a good move.
  5. The Pillage The Village contest has become such a tremendous success that Lord Admiral Phes has decided to give it its own subforum for the duration of the contest!
  6. This is a most interesting discussion and something I've already been thinking about. I don't have kids yet, but maybe in the coming years that will change. In my basement is a very big box full of Duplo already waiting for my kids. This will keep them busy for some time. When they grow older I will allow them to use my (carefully sorted) bricks to build. However, I would like them to understand how much time it costed me to sort all the bricks and to explain them they should sort unused bricks. I don't know if that's a realistic thing to ask from a kid. If it turns out that he/she is not much of a sorter, then I might buy my (future) kids some Lego collections (via eBay, garage sales, ...) so they can do whatever they want with those. I don't think that I'll allow them to touch my MOCs or minifig collections unless they are of a reasonable age. I just spend too much time on them to have them destroyed by a stupid kid . That last remark is of course just a joke (in case someone didn't get that ). I won't stop them from playing with or building official sets when they are old enough not to bite the Lego and stuff like that. Actually, I'm hoping to have kids who like to play with Lego. It would be awesome to build together and share the love for the bricks. I'm guessing kids like to copy their parents (up to some level), so the chances of my kid becoming a Lego fan are huge.
  7. Adult Fans Of Lego (AFOLs) with children, join this interesting discussion started by our member Barbaros. What do you do when your children grow up and want to 'play' with your MOCs and valuable collectors items? Will you allow your kid to build with your carefully sorted bricks or will you keep the kids Lego separated from yours? Discuss here.
  8. Checking all your posts makes me conclude we better have a private chat. Topic closed!
  9. This mod certainly makes the Armada Flagship more grown up. I say give it some small custom guns in case it encounters a bunch of pirates. Now for the new pirates sets, I would love to see another Armada ship, maybe during the 2nd wave of sets. Preferable a bigger one than the original version.
  10. Yes, currently the army is stored in some plastic boxes. Space is an issue for the moment, but I'm working on that
  11. I'm in the mood for bumping some old threads tonight No, serious, the reason I bumped this one is because I'm working on a decent band for my Napoleonic army. Two musicians for an entire army is not enough, so I'm targeting at least 8 or 10.
  12. So Mr. Tiber, can you share some updated pictures for your ship? I'm working on a similar project and I can use some idea's. I've seen the ones in the comic, but I want more, many more
  13. Welcome! Hope you have a nice time on Eurobricks.
  14. Happy B-day!
  15. Welcome at Eurobricks! Can we expect to see some of your brickfilms on EB?
  16. Welcome and enjoy your stay
  17. What a wonderful review with smart (showing the right parts) and clear pictures. Fantastic job Erdbeereis1! This set is interesting for several reasons. First of all it contains a large amount of (very) useful minifigs. Not many sets of this size contain so much figs. Secondly, the throne itself can be easily combined with the other Islander sets or even with other pirate and non-pirate sets. I'm going to see if I can get this one for a reasonable price on eBay.
  18. Yes, you can use a previously reviewed set. I'll give you access.
  19. Seems you made 2 welcome threads, so I had to do some merging. Welcome on Eurobricks!
  20. I've never subscribed to an RSS feed in the past, but I did in this case so I can check it out. I'm reading the Classic-pirates blog at least 2 times a week so I won't be needing the RSS to keep me up-to-date, however I do think this will be useful for several pirate fans. Nice work on making this possible and writing all the wonderful tutorials!
  21. Welcome Barbaros! You must be one of our first members from Bahrain. The Lego Company only made the typical pirates sets which we all know. I would be happy if they make some Ottoman ships or even an entire Ottoman line. Maybe some of our members made some MOC's that fall into that category. Do you have a picture of what you'd call a typical Ottoman ship?
  22. This thread is for explaining how you got your title, not for posting useless chat conversations which I don't want to see on Eurobricks. If you got a new title, you can make a post here to explain the meaning. If you already have a title, you can make a post here to explain the meaning. I promise I'll do something unpleasant to the next one who posts something in this thread which annoys me!
