  1. Join the club. Welcome in the academy!
  2. That should be enough if you hurry up. I'll give you access so you can check things out!
  3. Kurt, this is one of the best ships I've seen in some time. This morning I looked for about 10 minutes at all the beautiful pictures in your BS gallery. It's got a perfect line! I like how you managed to build this on a standard hull and still made the deck so very wide. It must have taken some time and re-building to get the line of the ship looking this good. Thirtheen mid hull sections... that's amazing! I'm building a ship on 7 mid-sections and thought that was already mighty long. Might I ask how long you've worked on this beautiful vessel? I would do two things differently: Go for 'real' sails out of canvas iso paper and go for 'real' rigging using ropes. You can still do that, but it will take some time and patience. PS: I've resized the picture in your first post and made it a bit brighter.
  4. Wow! It must have taken a lot of patience to make these. I'm looking forward to see the final result!
  5. 22. LegoJoe 40. Lord King of Everything - When daddy is not at home 17. pe668 - Colonic Cannonball First of all, thanks to all those participating. Having 43 entries for the first (small) division of this contest is extraordinary. It was not an easy task selecting 3 entries from this long list. My number one is LegoJoe because it's a very funny scene/concept and it's well executed in bricks. Number two for me is Lord King of Everything. Stealing someones baby is pure evil and that's what this contest was all about. Needless to say this entry was also very well build. Number 3 goes to pe668 for about the same reasons for selecting LegoJoe's and Lord of King's. Funny concept, well executed.
  6. A true masterpiece Aliencat! It looks perfect and I love all the details. I can look for a long time at pictures like yours, there's always something new to discover. Is this modeled after an existing fortress?
  7. What a wonderful set with some of the best minifigs I've seen! Fantastic review
  8. I read CT once every week and I do find it very useful. I'm not a hard-core city fan, so I like to have the interesting stuff summarized on one blog. On blogs I almost never post comments and prefer the forum for doing so. Having a link above the forum (next to the Eurobricks Frontpage link - see pirates forum) would be useful to have imo.
  9. I don't mind doing work, so if there are very good arguments for separating the MOC's then it will be done no matter how much work it is. But I still remember not so very long ago the pirates forum was getting 10 posts per day. Now the new sets are out and we've reviewed and discussed all of them. Once most is said about them, there's not so much interesting to discuss except for MOCs. For the moment, I still feel that on the long run the current structure is best. However, I'm for sure reading all the arguments in this thread, and many times in the past I've changed my opinion based on good arguments. Right now I see very good arguments which are valid at this moment in time, but I'm doubting if they are still valid in a month from now when PTV has ended and most is said about the new sets.
  10. Most impressive. My favourite helmet is the French dragoon
  11. Funny to see this discussion. We had exactly the same one 2 years ago. Actually I pushed for having a complete sub-layer in the pirates forum. If you dig hard you can find the discussion probably on page 40. But after trying that for some time we went to the situation we have today. Having multiple sub-forums proved to be too complicated for several non-hardcore pirate fans of EBs. They lost interest and stopped posting in the pirates forum for several reasons one of them being it becoming all too specialized. Moving to the situation of today has resolved that problem. For me, the solution is not just reading the first page of the pirates forum, but also look a bit deeper and go to page 2 and 3. And for those who missed something, we've got a lot of indexes and the classic-pirates portal to give you a good overview of the interesting stuff.
  12. Yes, that's related. We're doing some tests which involve temporary shutting down certain features (like the search option). Sorry for the inconvenience.
  13. You find it on the forum overview (on top).
  14. Many statistics like the ones you mention are available. I'm planning to take some screenshots for a long time now.
  15. Unless you resize the pictures for this entry (max 800x600) this entry won't be allowed. Please resize them! Thanks.

  17. Yes, it is related. We are doing tests by temporary shutting down "non essential" functions to see what's the impact on our server problem. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
  18. As Sinner said: we are working on it and trying different options every day. Recently we doubled our server power but still we have some problems. It will take us too far to go into the details of what we are trying, but having the board run smooth at all times is our top priority. We can't give priority to members over guests when the server is under high load. That's not supported in the forum software. Feel free to make a post in this thread the moment you are experiencing serious problems with accessing us (or maybe best just after the problems are over :-)).
  19. The news pirate sets are now available on Shop@Home, at least for those living in the US. All sets except the modular fortress are present. Let's hope Europe and the rest of the world also gets them before Christmas. Discuss here!
  20. There was some confusion with the timezones, so we allowed entries to be posted for an extra 24h. But by now that time is over and the contest is closed for good.
