Bonaparte replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects

LDD Design Contest Discussion thread
Bonaparte replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This LDD forum will not be used to post MOCs, those belong in the most relevant theme forums (inline with the Eurobricks structure). This place will be for all LDD discussions except posting MOCs (note: a recreation of an existing set in LDD is not seen as a MOC by our definition). LDD MOCs are digital, but still they are MOCs, so to be treated as such and to be posted in the most matching them forum. -
Just out of personal curiosity (I'm not into LEGO Star Wars), but these must be super rare for that kind of money, right?

EB Fellow Superkalle presents a new software for those who feel the urge to manage and analyze their LDD files . Standard features include import of LDD files, mapping from Lego to BrickLink ID’s (all 1700+ bricks in Universe Mode!), and upload to BrickLink. According to Superkalle, mapping the 1700 official Lego ID’s to the BrickLink counterparts was mildly put “a lot of work”. As a result, over 400 bricks that on BrickLink has x or b IDs have been mapped to their official Lego IDs. Included in LDD Manager is also a unique feature – find bricks by connectivity type. You can for example find all bricks that have a least 1 stud, a Technic pin and a Technic hole. Perfect when you know what the brick looks like, but can’t remember its number or name. A second unique feature is the commonality analyzer, which allows you to find common bricks over multiple LDD MOCs. This feature can for example help you reduce the number of part types needed to build several MOCs. There is also a color warning feature that will tell you if a color you’ve used in LDD has been produced or not. Click here to read more about LDD Manager and download. Discuss here

This looks great Since you live in German, have you visited La Haye Sainte? It still exists and looks just like it was in 1815.

Eurobricks is proud to announce a new forum - LEGO Digital Designer and other digital tools. During the last 6 months interest in LDD has increased tremendously here at Eurobricks and our member Superkalle has played an important role in this. After crowding the Lego General News thread with LDD talk, LDD has now got a home of it's own. This is a move that further established Eurobricks as the primary place for LDD talk on the internet. It was for example at Eurobricks that the news was revealed about the whole new extended palette of bricks known as Universe Mode. In the LEGO Digital Designer and other digital tools forum we will be able to gather all discussion about digital design, but also the digital workflow, from design ideas, to creation, to post-processing or ordering the bricks. You will also be able to get help with using LDD, get tips on building techniques and getting general support on WIP projects. However, please note that finished MOCs that you have done in LDD shall be posted in their respective theme forums (e.g. LEGO Pirates, LEGO town, etc.) So, if you are even remotely interested in digital design using LDD, this new forum is for you. Discuss here.

FAQ: Q: Why is not LDD grouped together with Lego Universe? A: LDD is foremost a tool for creating or modifying designs that can also be built with physical Lego. From that respect, LDD has actually a much stronger connection to the traditional Lego creative and building process, then it has to for example gaming. Even so, LDD can in the future perhaps become a platform also for rendering, animation or other digital activities.

Stilzkin Bridge Launcher
Bonaparte replied to mahjqa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just watched the video and I'm speechless (barely ever happens ). Simply amazing! I'll have to show this to my colleague who is very much into Technic and Mindstorm (but not really an online guy). -
Mr. Zuloo, will you fix the direct links in the forum interview threads? It shouldn't matter where exactly they are physically hosted to have the links working.

Please tell us your screen resolution and browser
Bonaparte replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
While my laptop has a resolution of 1024 x 768, my desktop is 1920 x 1200. As for the browser, I use an up-to-date Firefox (v3.6.3). Let me give some details about browser versions used on Eurobricks: -
Zorro is taking care of that. The reason was something going wrong with the publishing process of new articles. That has now been fixed. Thanks for reporting.

REVIEW: 8683 LEGO Minifigures Series 1
Bonaparte replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I believe this is the only review I've seen covering the complete first series of minifigures. It's a nice closing piece for several annoucements and individual reviews related with this fantastic minifigure series 1. The clown, forestman and magician are must haves for me. And knowing the 2nd series has the wonderful Mexican and Greeks soldier I'm looking forward for even more for series 3. -
Sometimes the staff decide that some news needs to get maximum frontpage publicity for a certain period of time, even when new news has arrived. That's the reason why we sometimes "pin" a news item for 24 hours on the frontpage so it stays on top.

Simply stunning! The German helmet is a true masterpiece Thanks for making these awesome parts available. I will soon do some shopping so I can see these with my own eyes. -
The problem should be solved now! Let's hope it stays ok.

There was one spambot I just cleaned from the forum. If there are others, please share a link. However, this seems unrelated with our site loading issue.
