  1. Eurobricks Event 2013 Gunzburg Germany The Eurobricks Event 2013 team consists of Copmike, Holodoc and Bonaparte. 1/ Where, when: For the 9th event we go to Gunzburg, Southern Germany. The event is Thursday 6th, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th of June 2013, so most of us will arrive on Wednesday late afternoon and go travel back on Sunday morning. 2/ Accommodation: We will stay at a very nice place with a variaty of apartments called Kirchenbauerhof located 3 km from LEGOLand Gunzburg near the famous river Donau. The place has a lot of history and it was originally a farm. Prices and overview of the rooms: Holiday flat 1+3: max. 5 people (seperated twin bed, 2 single beds, 1 day bed), 65m², 70€ per night Holiday flat 2: max. 4 people (seperated twin bed, 2 single beds), 60m², 65€ Appartments (1-6): max. 4 people (twin bed, day bed), 45m², 60€ all of them include kitchen, coffee machine and bathroom. Breakfast on request (6€ pp) 8 family rooms (5-8, 11-14): max. 4 people (twin bed, day bed), 25m² 75€ Family room 9: max. 4 people (twin bed, daybed), 17m², 75€ Family room 4: 3 people (twin bed, single bed), 16m², 70€- neither of the family rooms has a kitchen, but breakfast is inclusive. Twin room 10: already "booked" by Cecilie, 16m², 63€ Single rooms: on request, 43€ Mostly the price will be around 21€ including breakfast per person per night if you are happy to share an apartment so it's completely full. Not bad at all if you ask me! All in all ca. 70 people can have a place to sleep, but in order to make sure other non-Eurobricks folks don't take the rooms you better decide soonish. We have a number of rooms pre-booked (the ones marked in red) till mid-January for Eurobricks! Booking: We'll offer 2 options: 1) Book and pay the 'room responsibles' in advance until mid January. Bonaparte, Copmike and Holodoc will be the 'room responsibles' for the firsts 3 group apartments, so you pay to them and they pay the entire room to the Kirchenbauerhof. You can be a responsible for another room than the 3 mentionened (in case you want a room just for yourself, family or friends). Holodoc will be the single interface to the Kirchenbauerhof. If you want to book, just post in the sign-up topic. We'll provide you the instructions for doing the payment. 2) After mid January you have to take care of the accommodation yourself. We only have a number or rooms pre-reservered at the Kirchenbauerhof for the EB event until this time. There might still be free rooms at the Kirchenbauerhof after mid January but we can't guarantee it. But of course we still can provide help if needed. Address and Contact: Gästehaus Kirchenbauerhof Georg Linder jun. Leipheimerstr. 7 D- 89347 Bubesheim 3/ Sign-up for the event: Go here to sign-up for the event. 5/ Program: The program will be confirmed later, but this is what we have in mind: Thursday: LEGOLand + Eurobricks activities Friday: City tour of Munich. Detailed program is here. Saturday: LEGOLand + Eurobricks activities Eurobricks activities can range from contests, EB related stuff, ... to Bowling. This will all be detailed later. As always, expect the unexpected You can use this topic for asking any questions or discussing the event. 3. I've granted you access so you can have a look inside the academy and see how things work.
  4. I've tested this and the links I get are bringing me to the first new post. Could you share one of those links which you are getting? Few questions: 1/ Does your problem happen with posts to which you have subscribed before our upgrade to this new board version? 2/ Do you also have the problem when you subscribe to a topic now (so after the upgrade)? 3/ Which option do you select when subscribing to a topic (see image)? 4/ Could you clear your browser history (especially the cookies) to see it that fixes the problem?
  5. Sorry for the late reply! I have put this on my list of items to check and look into. I have very few time until mid next week, but then it'll check this unless another admin is faster.
  6. [pid][/pid] 143D I'd like to present the 20 gun French Frigate Minerve which is another co-build with my friend Captain Green Hair. This ship was finished roughly a year ago and serves as a sister ship to this ship. The Minerve was put on display already 2 times, along with it's sister and the rest of the fleet, on BeLUG events.
  7. It's actually very simple. Mister Phes is in charge of designing the Pirate forum graphics, so all choices/decisions related to this task are for him to make. So if he wants to focus on the Caribbean that's his call. That doesn't mean you don't bring valid arguments, but they are fit better in another forum discussion.
  8. I checked with a test user and now you can add an avatar when you have <10 posts.
  9. I've moved you to another group, can you see if that changes anything (though I think it will not)?
  10. That's very weird... What happens when you click this link? http://www.eurobrick...?showuser=17080 Or this one: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=usercp
  11. Thanks for providing the details on how the gun is constructed! I'll need to be getting me a few of those fine exhausts and do some more browsing at the brickarms shop to check what else is in the current portfolio.
  12. ZCerberus joined Eurobricks only few months after me and over the years we had a lot of interaction in the Pirates forum. I remember he liked building big Imperial fortresses and large ships. So I know for a fact that the history forum is very lucky getting such a veteran member, with advance building skills, as the new History Regulator. Congratulations ZCerberus!
  13. Seems several members are without an 'avatar'. Online an avatar is the equivalent to a face, so it's like taking to someone without a face I'd like to encourage all our faceless members to get an avatar. In case you need help making one I'm sure there'll be plenty other members willing to assist (you can mention in this topic what kind of avatar you'd like). Adding an avatar to your profile is really easy, but in case you need help you can check our Eurobricks Visual Guide.
  14. Seems I never commented on this superb ship. There are almost no stubs visible, everything is nicely tiled, making the ship look like a very realist model. Colors, shape of the hull, deck details (the cabin ) are all spot on as can be expected from someone like Captain Green Hair. This one would look good in a town layout at some LEGO event Did you already finish it by now (add sails to the ship)?
  15. That's a simple one from the perspective of Disney: making more money! But the fact that SW 6 rounded up the story pretty nicely allows for a fresh and new story to start with SW 7.
  16. Yup, this is being discussed in the SW forum. I'll close this topic.
  17. I think this is great news! Clearly Lucas had lost the magic he had in his youth. Proof are Indian Jones 4 and Star Wars 1,2,3 which where not even close to his earlier work. Let's see what Disney can do. They are a big professional company. And they can start pretty much from scratch with these new SW movies. The good ones won in SW6, so all options for a fresh story are open now. No restrictions like Lucus was facing in the boring SW prequels.
  18. Media giant Disney has purchased movie and TV production house Lucasfilm for $4.05B in cash and stock. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga. Lucasfilm founder George Lucas will act as a creative consultant for the next film. Disney plans to release a Star Wars film every one to three years from 2015 on, with episodes 8 and 9 following on. The future of LEGO Star Wars looks bright for many years to come... discuss here in our Star Wars forum. Source: http://thenextweb.com/ (brought to us by our member Pranas).
  19. Due to the upgrade there are several members without an 'avatar'. Online an avatar is the equivalent to a face, so it's like taking to someone without a face I'd like to encourage all our faceless members to get an avatar. In case you need help I'm sure there'll be plenty other members willing to assist in making you a suitable avatar (you can mention in this topic what kind of avatar you'd like to have).
  20. That could indeed be a possible reason for the ship being at sea!
  21. It's really sad this ship has been lost. I don't understand what the crew what thinking... they must have known about the storm/hurricane, so why not go to a safe harbor?
  22. Always nice to know more about one of our famous Eurobrickers! I learned a lot of new things about Rufus (didn't know he plays the guitar, his has a dog name , etc.). I recently bought a copy of Photoshop (still have to install it) and I was really surprised that only 30s of time could produce such a clean image from a rather yellow raw picture. I'd like to be a fly on Rufus shoulder during those 30s And I'm now convince I need to buy a tripod ASAP!
  23. Once on a BeLUG event a Santa Fee train was stolen from a display The event forum is a good place for this topic I believe.
  24. You are on the new server
  25. A true masterpiece! Perfect lines, a brick made hull ( ) and I love the masts and all the rigging.
