  1. So your son will be 3 at the time of the event? I see no problem for bringing him and your wife. I think Legoland has some attractions suited for young kids and the trip to Munich by train should be lots of fun for your son (my son loves trains and is about the same age). Our event really is a family event and families with kids have been joining already to our past EB events without any problems.
  2. Fantastic news that you are joining the event. That makes us a total of 22 confirmed eventees!
  3. I fully agree, and have made it clear to the provider that they caused us downtime and damaged our database. In the mean time they have done changes on our server and now a restart is possible in a normal way (first gracefully shutting down all processes). This was done and tested yesterday. More next steps now will be planned with Ace (more modifications to make the database more secure from corruptions).
  4. Good question... it'll be a license so would also fit in the Licensed forum. I'll just keep it here for now.
  5. The next CUUSOO set will be 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine. Unfortunately the Modular Western Town project conflicts with an ongoing project at the LEGO Group and a result, the project does not meet the business case requirements and has not passed the LEGO Review. Discuss here.

  7. A few words on what happened and the way forward: During the night from 17-18 the provider did maintenance on our server. Due to a server reboot part of our database got corrupted. We did not do a full restore from our (daily) backup this time, but only restored the damaged tables (the main one being the members table). So no posts have been lost! Of course we have to take measures to make us more safe from database corruption and that'll be the next step. This will require a number of changes on the server which will be done during a planned maintenance window. We'll inform you in advance when this will happen (as the site will be offline during this window). I want to say a big thank you to Ace for his time working on these issues. He was the one fixing the database (preventing loss of posts) and is in charge of the way forward for preventing this. Without Ace the future of EB would be rather uncertain. Thank you Ace!!! Discussion topic is here.

  9. Unless Holodoc has a different I idea I suggest I'll have a skype call with him somewhere early January where we work out all the rooms stuff. Next we can post it here for feedback and get all practical stuff (payments) done.
  10. The LEGO Community Team has shared the AFOL survey Quarter 4 and kindly asked to get feedback from as many as possible (takes only a few minutes). Here is the link

  12. Some things didn't go as expected today... The popularity of a certain review was slowing EB down, and while restarting the server (to take into account a few new settings) part of the database got corrupted forcing us to restore a 10 hour old backup. Read more here.
  13. Some things didn't go as expected today... The popularity of a certain review was slowing EB down, and while restarting the server (to take into account a few new settings) part of the database got corrupted. After several recovery attempts it was clear the corruption was in too many tables and I decided to fallback to the latest backup which was from noon time today (CET). So the backup was about 10 hours old when it was restored meaning that whatever happened in those 10 hours is gone. I can't even try to explain how bad this makes me feel. Good news is that Asbjørn , super expert on Linux/PHP/Apache/MySQL and husband of our Fellow Cecile , has now done a proper tuning of our (powerful) server. He'll continue to monitor our server and re-tune parameters till we get everything out of it. - A tired Bonaparte
  14. WhiteFang has made a very detailed review of the new Collectible Minifigure Series 9. You can read the review here in our forums.
  15. Simply amazing, and very inspiring. When I first saw this MOC if thought it was a pirate MOC. This fits in a range of themes, very impressive!
  16. I don't seem to experience this problem. On the forum overview page it says Cyberbricker is the last one that posted in the thread, and that seems correct when I go to the end of the thread.
  17. Link please! Always provide a link so we can investigate.
  18. Thanks to you both for your valued advice on traveling from Gunzburg to Munich. You have convinced me that train is the best option. Taking the Bavarian ticket as explained by Frank is really cheap, 38 Euros for 5 persons only makes 7,6 Euro/pp. If that includes the underground in Munich it's a super deal! Frank, can you provide a link to the timetables and pricing info of the German railway (incl. the special Bavarian ticket)?
  19. Only 2 weeks after we have announced the next Eurobricks Event already 20 members have confirmed their attendance! The 2013 event will be in Gunzburg, Southern Germany, on 6-8 June. Next to the usual activities (LEGOland, EB workshop/presentation, fun contests, ...) we will also do an city visit of Munich and the local LEGO brand store(s). You can read all about the event in this topic.
  20. LEGO posted a teaser image on Facebook showing the backsides of the upcoming collectible minifig series 9. Discussion topic
  21. Added to the list That's fantastic news Johan, I'm looking forward to meeting you both again And now we have reached 20 participants already!
  22. Fantastic work zergu! I love all the details like the hanging fishes.
  23. Thanks for making this MOC in my honor :-))) Seriously, I love the burned and damaged effects you added to the building and the surroundings. It brings up the right feeling that goes along with such bloody fights. (I stumbled on this MOC by accident today and noticed I didn't yet comment, so now I did)
  24. Our beloved Admiral Croissant has been promoted to the rank of Pirates Moderator! A double portion of rum for everyone!
