  1. Haha, good point! I am still holding out for an ACU Polybag that comes with a trooper and an armory rack with accessories, like the 2012 Hawkeye one. Off topic slightly, but you guys seen TV Spot 15? Gives me chills. Really eerie.
  2. Received my T Rex tracker today. A great set which needed another fig. I wish we had seen the Galimimus trap as a £10 set with Hamada and two other ACU troopers for army building. :)
  3. Indeed. I for one am looking forward to the sales now - I'm wanting a second, maybe third Dilophosaurus Ambush, maybe another Raptor Rampage and another Raptor Escape so I can make the Raptor Paddock bigger.
  4. I'd agree. The Pen is a nice design, the printing on the two Minifigures is good, the Raptors are great and the ATV is pretty nicely scaled. :)
  5. Very nice upgrade. I like it.
  6. Not a forum I visit often, but I might have to after seeing this! Some of the techniques used here to achieve curvature and angles are phenomenal. Loving it! Keep up the awesome work man.
  7. That'd be awesome as well! I was thinking, what if they have already decided to do the ideas set, but have changed it to include an Explorer and a Jeep?
  8. That Jurassic Park jeep actually appears to be a real model they made for the promotion, as they said they do build sets for the games to ensure everything can work in LEGO. I wonder if we are seeing JP Sets afterall? That Jeep could easily include Grant, Satler, the Vet, and a Triceratops with a small piece of environment.
  9. Thanks man. :) I look forward to seeing your SHIELD Helicopter when it is done!!! :)
  10. Thanks for taking the time out to leave such kind words buddy! Tomorrow I might rebuild the 4x4 in LDD, and then experiment with 6x6 designs from there. As Jurassic World has a whole host of vehicles which aren't represented in LEGO yet, I have a lot of options for different designs. I'd also like to make one of the golf cart style vehicles too, although that design would be much more fragile.
  11. Hey All! So I absolutely love the JW line (If you can't tell from me practically living in that thread now), and particularly love the realism of the line! I own all the sets apart from the T-Rex tracker, but have always been bugged by the Helicopter in the Pterandon tracker set, and wanted to have a go at modifying it to get rid of that massive net-catcher and make the turret look more streamlined with the body of the vehicle. Below you can see the modification from a front view and a side view, and then the mechanism used. It didn't require too many parts but I am very happy with the results! When I have some more spare time I want to work out a way to add more depth to the Helicopter so that the minifigure can actually use the turret, but don't want to change the shape as I am happy with how close the current model is to it's on screen appearance. If anyone has any ideas, let me know! From this point I now want to look at buying two more Dilophosaurus Ambushes, and using the parts to create the 6x6 we see in Jurassic World. Thanks for looking!
  12. No worries man, hope you enjoy whatever set(s) you decide to purchase in the end as in my opinion, all of them are fantastic for different reasons.
  13. For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, there is a new LEGO Jurassic World trailer out: It features a couple of new Dinosaur moulds. I remember the studio saying they designed these to be as close to designs LEGO could actually make as possible, and liased with the LEGO designers throughout. Is it possible that we could see some of these in a second wave?
  14. I'd say either Dilophosaurus Ambush, as you get the main 4x4 (One of the main vehicles in the original film and obviously going to be rather prominent in the new film as a park worker utility vehicle), a Gyrosphere (Which offers a few display options for a functioning park) and a Dilophosaurus. You also get two nice figures, with the printing on the ACU being phenomenal, and Gray is nice too. Although I could agree with The_Chosen_1 regarding Raptor Rampage as the build is nice and you get the main character. It's your decision though buddy.
  15. Received Raptor Escape and Indominus Rex Breakout for my Birthday today, and very satisfied with both sets on the whole! Raptor Escape is a fantastic little set which grows on me the more I play with it. Barry and the Vet are both very nice minifigures (Although another ACU Member would not have gone a miss), and both Raptors are very nice and have unique prints to those in Raptor Rampage, making for four very nice Raptors. The Paddock, whilst very barebones, does the job it sets out to do nicely and with a touch of aesthetic flair, and can even hold all four raptors at once, meaning that if you have both sets you can combine them to simulate the paddock where all four members of the Raptor Squad are stationed. The Indominus Rex Breakout set is easily my favorite set of the line so far (I have all bar the T-Rex Tracker, which I am ordering with my Birthday money ASAP as well as preordering the game). The Minifigure lineup could've benefited from another ACU worker, or the worker who we see eaten in so many of the trailers so far, but besides that the set is perfect. It has a nice scale to it and reflects a lot of the actual pen nicely, with details like the flashlights and the crane really bringing it to life. There are a lot of nice play features to the set, and it definitely feels like the hub of the JW line, with space for plenty of figures and lots of options for play ability. I really love the inclusion of a glass viewing area in one wall - this is where my Claire and Owen minifigs are setup currently. Definitely would recommend both sets. Really hope for a wave two now - LEGO knocked this first wave out the park IMO, so I can see a second wave hitting back just as strong!
  16. Fair point pal. I would've prefered another JW vehicle like a Quad bike different to the one in the Raptor Escape, or something else. I just feel like the brick-built velociraptor will look weird displayed with the moulded ones.
  17. Well the JW pack is a let down - It would've been nice to see another dino build and not a brick-built one!
  18. In the recently released TV Spot 4 (I don't count this as a spoiler - I hope no one else does, but if you do just let me know and I can spoiler tag it) we see Claire and Owen hiding from the Indominus Rex in some kind of building, and taking shelter behind one of the original Jurassic Park jeeps (So I presume this is within the restricted section). So LEGO could be very smart and release the Ideas set with the Explorer (s) and a bunch of original characters, and then release a worn down Jeep in a JW set but with instructions on which extra parts to buy to make it a fully functional jeep again. I'd love that! Here's the link for reference:
  19. That's pretty cool - when I am next at Bluewater I will ask the guy who said we won't, and will see if anything has changed. I hope we see a second wave - sets seem to be doing really well so far from the impression I get off of web reviewers. Just2Good, is it possible that things could have changed since you last learnt things? I feel like you should reach out to some 'contacts'...
  20. Ah well - just an excuse for multiples of these sets then! ;)
  21. When I asked an employee in the LEGO store, I was told that we are not getting any sets from the classic films, meaning those in-game moulds may very well be wasted. That said, if we kick up enough of a fuss and if these sets do well, then LEGO will become aware of demand, and I am sure that those plans could therefore subsequently change.
  22. Thanks Oky - sorry, I should've realized! I hope, if there is a minifigure scale vehicle, that we get the Golf-Caddy style park travel vehicle from Jurassic World, as it is small enough to be done in this pack. Maybe with an ACU Soldier, and the White Shirt variant of Owen, as seen when Claire goes to talk to him in the first TV Spot.
  23. I'd definitely recommend Raptor Rampage - sure, it is kinda expensive for what you get and it would've really benefited from another figure (A different variation of an ACU Guy or a different Vet would've been fantastic), but the build itself is really nice. I am sure with some simple modifications you could get the rear of the truck looking good on the interior (I need help with ideas for this myself), and the set is very accurate to the Source Material - something which we generally don't see as LEGO tend to take creative license in most of their themed builds. I personally love how fluent and realistic the final build is, and I love the additional functionality of the removable rear cab - it just adds an extra detail to the build which wasn't necessary, but opens up more modification opportunities. The Raptors are very nice, as you would expect, and Owen and Claire are definitely essential characters so getting them both in the set is a win. Also, Raptor Escape is only $10 cheaper and has one less figure. Your call pal - it is your money, I already spent mine! As for the talk of a second wave - I definitely hope for one. A proper Galimimus, a updated Spinosaur or more would really be fantastic, plus the Herbivores some of you guys have already mentioned. There are a plethora of vehicles in Jurassic World - LEGO could make a set based on the Cretaceous Cruise, a set based on the Monorail, a set based on the tour truck in Galimimus Valley, some of the golf-caddy like vehicles used to navigate the park, the 6x6. The line really does have the potential to be expanded further and become our fast Dino license to last more then a single way. I hope that sales skyrocket to reflect the fantastic designs LEGO have released in the first wave, and really hope that this encourages them to re-consider doing a second wave, as it isn't on their agendas presently.
  24. Anyone got any ideas on what I could do to add some interior to the rear of the Mobile Veterinary Unit?
