  1. Wow great build... Great towers Just one Q: why isn't the bridge finished?
  2. I think King Theoden is the best (and most detailed) character I've ever seen... but I'm an elf fan too and think Legolas and Haldir are looking pretty sharp as well. Compliments on almost every minifig in this wave.
  3. These are my idea's... already 11 dwarves Escape the Trolls ± 500 pcs Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin, Troll (or 2, perhaps all 3)new mold for trolls Campfire and small cave stone build troll new mold swords (Glamdring, Orcrist) Misty Mountains ± 150 pcs Fili & Kili, goblin, great goblin Small cave Game of riddles ± 90 pcs Bilbo Gollum Ring The Chase - Battle set ± 200 pcs 2 Goblins, Ori, 1 Warg (new mold) Brick build eagle, Dwarf in tree The house of Beorn ± 500 pcs Bombur, Beorn, Bear, Warg, 2 Goblins Mirkwood ± 200 pcs Nori & Dori Brick build spider Dungeon of the Elvenking ± 800 pcs Bifur & Bofur, 2 woodelves, Thranduil Prison and a stream with barrels Hobbiton ± 400 pcs Gandalf, Bilbo, Dwalin & Balin Hobbit house
  4. Did you find the sets on a dutch webshop already? And yes, which one?
  5. I think this set is brilliant... I will for sure get at least 2 of these. 2 complete (White Hand of Saruman) armor sets, three new orc swords, orc head/ear piece, olive green slopes, reddish light brick and much more fun MOCing stuff. Together with 2 Uruk-Hai Army sets, Mines of Moria and Helms Deep enough to start a new (orcish) armie. Let the battles begin.
  6. I actually hope that by the time this wave is introduced, that we will see the first prelims for the "witchking" So I'll wait for that.
  7. I am just still confused about the comments, why kids won't like this theme. "too dark" is the most common awnser... but what is too dark? The characters? Have a real Lego look and are very colourful The villains? Are very characteristic, like trolls are in castle The beasts? Didn't HP and Castle already introduced kids with dragons, trolls, skeletons and even scarier beasts? The scenery? Nothing to complain about the more detail these get Mum and Dad shouldn't complain. It is a fantasy theme, and every kid dreams, reads and watches movies about fantasy. It's why they are kids, and we also (don't deny it, you want to be a noble elf or berserking dwarf).
  8. I fully agree... In fact told a few of my (non Lego) LotR fans, and all are pleased and considering buying at least a few sets. You can have the intire fellowship by buying Shelob, Weathertop, Mines of Moria and Gandalf arrives.
  9. I really don't know where all the fuzz is about. This will be, together with SW, the best selling theme Lego has ever introduced. The Phantom Manace was rated 12+ and Lego didn't think twice to release sets from thismovie. I also think the LotR theme can function besides a Castle theme, as SW works besides any space police and other spacey theme. There are endless possibilities, sub-theme's and characters to base sets around. I can't wait for the first wave... and I expect even more of the future.

As a very proud father I am proud to announce that my daughter got her first Lego set... The enthousiasm of an 1,5 year old is so sweet. almost as happy as her father with a new set. Her mother wasn't to pleased with me when I came home with two Duplo Zoo sets :) I will try to addict her to have the same passion as I.
  11. How about some pre-lims for this winter Like: Faramir, Eowyn, Witchking, Saroman, Elrond, Arwen, a couple of dwarves and Bilbo.
  12. You have my vote... I'll buy the complete set, looking forward seeing more designs in this theme
  13. I also added Jabbas Palace to my wishlist and the LotR sets will be added to my collection as well.
  14. I'm missing the hair piece with ears for the orcs....
  15. With the announcement of "the Hobbit" sets end of 2012 here are some idea's based on a short description of the movie. 1) Escape the Trolls, a nice opportunity for a new (troll) mold Figs: Bilbo, Gandalf, 1 or 2 Dwarves and 1 or 2 Trolls 2) Rivendell (epic collecters set) Figs: Bilbo, Elrond, 1 or 2 elves, 1 or 2 dwarves, maybe one or 2 iconic elves from LotR 3) Misty Mountains, a small mountain with a cave (Battle set as Uruk's Army 9471) Figs: 1 or 2 dwarves and 2 to 3 goblins 4) Game of Riddles, small set containing Gollum and Bilbo 5) The Chase (Battle set as Orc Forge 9476) Figs: 2 wargs (new mold), 2 to 3 goblins and a brick build eagle 6) Mirkwood, Giant spider (but with Shelob still in production, I can imagine this will be added later in 2013) Figs: 1 or 2 dwarves 7) Dungeon of Woodelves (set as Mines of Moria 9473) Figs: a few woodelves and a few dwarves 8) Dragon's Lair (I expect this scene to be in the second movie, so this set may come in 2013) Figs: Bilbo, Bard and a brick build Smaug I do not expect all dwarves to be in the first wave, but still it will be a great wave for all kind of different figs.
  16. They did String
  17. 9469 Gandalf Arrives - New horse mold (love the color scheme), another wizard and a great variation on Frodo's clothing - will buy at least one 9470 Shelob Attacks - Just a must have for the figs, Shelob will be a nice monster addition for Heroica. The Ring, absolutely fabulous. 9471 Uruk-Hai Army - The two Rohannir are supurb and enough Uruk's for a large army. And I thought the price was higher, so probably 2 or 3 of this set. The bigger the army the better. And again the nice new horse. 9472 Attack on Weathertop - The least favorite of mine, but because I just want all the sets and figs, one will be in my collection. 9473 Mines of Moria - The best figs, I really love the Moria Orcs and the cave troll is stunning. With the shown pictures I will probably start MOCing very soon, so I just have to fit in the figs. I can see myself buying 1 or 2 of these sets. 9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep - Again the figs are stunning, and I´m really pleased that most walls are brick build. I do have to consider how to integrate this into a nice MOC. Will need a lot of thinking time, but still on my wish list. 9476 The Orc Forge - I hope the bold fig will get some headgear and because I love the pointy ears, I will probably pick this set up 2 to 3 times as well. Taking this in consideration, I had to promiss myself (and my wife) that I have to save up some money for this summer and don´t spend to much on Lego sets until the release... Is it june-juli yet
  18. I wasn't going to buy more SW sets actually, because my focus will be on fantasy. But after seeing the first pictures of Jabba's place, it will be a nice add-on and a must have for me.
  19. Uruk-Hai have new shields and weapons as well
  20. Hahahahahaha... at least he won't touch your Lego
  21. I think your elven forest is bloody marvelous... hoping that the LotR licence will include a Rivendell set as beautiful as this.
  22. Any details about the "orc forge" available? Piece count, figs count, etc...
  23. Shelob looks impressive, I was a bit affraid it was going to turn out as Shelob (Hagrid's Hut set). Helm's Deep, hoping for more detail inside. The walls seem brick build (not the large elements), that would realy be a nice feature. Moria's mines, no comments other than the cavetroll is Really can't wait for the release... really!
  24. This exactly the reason I'm hoping for battle packs. My brother used to have the GW collection and he gave me the books and sold his collection. So with enough battle packs, we can start playing again in a Lego scenery :) can't wait...
  25. I'm hoping for 2 to 3 more years of LotR waves... Enough scenes, movies and idea's for sets.
