Unimog U4000
Paul B Technic replied to Pat-Ard's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Excellent model with a great level of detail. -
I guess what I tried to build yesterday would be counted as my worst. It was meant to be a pneumatic log splitter but it didn't really work out. No photos of it but I did learn a lot for "version 2" :)

http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/interviews-with-lego-builders-win-lego.html Interviews with LEGO Builders - Win a LEGO set A few weeks ago I launched a new section on my blog, this is interviews with LEGO builders. http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/p/interviews-of-lego-builders.html I have now had a couple of responses which I have published, to encourage more people to respond to this I am now offering a LEGO Technic set (9392) as a prize (see below) to one person who responds to this and answers the five questions. Please note the following: - Only responses which I publish on my blog are eligible to be entered in to the draw for the prize. This means simple one or two word answers to the questions will not be accepted or published. I am not expecting multiple page answers but simply some thought being put in to the answers so that they are interesting for others to read. - The competition will run until the 30th June 2014 (30/06/2014). After this date all the names of those who have responded will be entered in to a random draw. One name will be drawn and this person will win the prize. I will contact the winner to arrange postage of the prize. The winner will also be announced on my blog. The questions and more information on this can be found here: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/p/interviews-of-lego-builders.html Please share this with as many other LEGO fans as possible via your own websites / blogs / forums / groups / clubs.

I would much prefer sets (all sets) to be number based on this standard. ThemeYearSet As an example the first Technic set this year might be Tech1401, the third starwars set would be SW1203 and so on.

Really nice work with this, not something I have ever seen or thought of myself. -
Once you start building do you find it hard to stop?

I have missed lunch before due to building, what you have posted sounds like a much worse problem. Maybe you should get some help? -

Thanks for sharing this, it looks really good. Yellow is a good colour for this. -
Our cats seem to love my LEGO, any chance and they will be "helping me". Today I was trying to make a video of one of my creations, every time I started filming they would come and jump up in the way of the camera, in the end I took a video of them and then they were happy. Link to the video on my blog page below: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/cats-and-lego.html

At the moment I am designing and building a number of attachments to sue with the Unimog U400 (Set 8110). The latest of these is a cherry picker attachment. This extends to over 70cm tall, the arm is lifted by a small LA which is driven by a handle on the side. The turntable rotates using the rear PTO. I spent about 6 hours over the past two days designing and testing this, most of this time was spent on getting the lifting function to work well. As can be seen in the photos below our cat enjoyed being part of the QA team :) http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/unimog-u400-set-8110-cherry-picker.html

Update - 19/05/2014 Following some feedback and advice I have now made some changes to this. It has been made shorter, the front tool box has been removed and the front wheels have been removed, now replaced with a folding stand. http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/moc-float-trailer-for-42006-c-model.html

MOC Sharing Dilemma
Paul B Technic replied to Cumulonimbus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No I have not but then again I build what I like, not what is popular to other people. If somebody builds something the same as yours, does that really matter?
