  1. I would like to present my latest MOC. This is a utility off-road truck. Recently I built the C model of set 42178, which is a slope tractor. I was very impressed with this C model, however I felt that some of the body parts could be better utilized in a truck type MOC. After stripping the c model to the base chassis, I decided to keep both the front function and the hand of god 4 wheel steering, however due to the change in design this had to be routed up through the cabin to the top via a black knob. My first step was to build a reinforcement around the chassis this allowed the controls for the front function to be routed out the side and also gave me space for the rear PTO controlled to be routed out the side. Both of these are controlled via black knobs on the side of the model. Next I started building the cabin, this required quite a bit of work as I was very keen to ensure that it had a consistent colour style, I don't have a huge amount of white pieces, so some design changes were required. I also had some issues with ensuring that the front lifting hitch function, would still work. This required quite a few design compromises, to ensure that it both looked good and the function work as I expected. Once I had finished building the cabin, my next step was to work on the rear of the model this included extending the chassis, to ensure that the tray had some support as well as routing the gears and axles required for the rear PTO to work. Finally I added some details including the lights on the front of the cabin, the roof lights, mirrors, as well as the rear turning signals. One thing that I'm not 100% sure I'm happy with, are the tyres. These are the original tyres that came with set for 42178, I do have a set of black tyres which I'm am considering swapping over however I do like the look of the grey tyres against the white and black body. This MOC has three main features: - Hand of God 4 wheel steering, which is controlled via the black knob on top of the cabin. - Front hitch can be raised and lowered by the black gear on the side of the chassis - Rear PTO, which is also controlled by separate black knob on the side of the chassis. My plan now is to build a number of different attachments for this these include: - Dozer Blade - Winch - Plow as well as various other towing attachments. I'm also designing a cherry picker and crane attachment for this. Overall I'm very happy with how this is turned out, I think that is a good size model and it gives me some really good scope to build some different attachments in the future. https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/04/moc-utility-offroad-truck-uort.html
  2. Recently I have designed and built a custom C model tractor based on LEGO Technic set 42164. It has three functional attachments: a plough, slasher, and post hole drill. Step 1: Conceptualization and Planning The first step in any LEGO project is to conceptualize the design and plan out the structure. For our tractor, we envisioned a sturdy yet versatile vehicle capable of handling various agricultural tasks. Step 2: Building the Tractor With a clear vision in mind, we began assembling the base of the tractor using the components from set 42164. We focused on ensuring stability and functionality, incorporating hand of god steering, via the grey exhaust on the top of the engine area. Step 3: Developing Attachments Once the tractor was complete, we shifted our attention to designing the attachments. Each attachment required careful consideration of its purpose, size, and compatibility with the tractor. We experimented with different configurations and mechanisms to create functional implements that could be easily swapped and operated by the tractor. 1. Plough: The plough attachment was designed to efficiently till the soil for planting. 2. Slasher: For clearing overgrown vegetation, we created a slasher attachment. 3. Post Hole Drill: Lastly, we developed a post hole drill attachment for digging holes for fence posts or other structures. This attachment featured a rotating drill bit. Conclusion: Designing and building a custom LEGO Technic C model tractor with three attachments was a rewarding and enjoyable experience. From conceptualization to final assembly, each step of the process required creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail. By combining the versatility of LEGO Technic components with innovative design techniques, we were able to create a functional and realistic agricultural vehicle capable of tackling various tasks with ease. Whether you're a LEGO enthusiast or an aspiring engineer, this project serves as a testament to the endless possibilities of LEGO Technic sets. https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/04/moc-lego-technic-42164-c-model-tractor.html

  5. 42178 - Slope Tractor Attachment - Dozer Blade This dozer blade is an attachment for the C model of LEGO Technic set 42178. This is mounted to the front of the tractor and can be raised and lowered.
  6. Recently I built this C model of LEGO Technic set 42178, it was an enjoyable experience and I was very impressed with the end result, however I felt a few areas could be improved. New Front End: One thing I noticed was that the front end was very bare. I added some panels and beams plus some flexible tubing to create a more robust front end. Cabin Changes: The way the cabin was connect was a little weak in places, I added some extra beams and supports. I found a few parts which had colours that didn't really fit, this was due to it being a C model. As I was able to use a wider range of parts, I swapped over some parts to different colours in places. Rear Hitch: The rear hitch was quite basic and only allowed it to be locked in the raised position. I have removed this and replaced it with a hitch that uses a worm gear to allow this to be easily raised and lowered. https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/04/mod-lego-technic-42178-slope-tractor.html
  7. Thanks for sharing this, you have done an amazing job with this.
  8. There is a very cool C model of this, I have written a short review of it: https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/04/review-lego-technic-42178-c-model-slope.html
  9. Thanks. The spare wheel is for if it gets damaged while landing on rough air strip's
  10. I have recently spent some time designing and building my latest MOC, this is a bush plane, which is a C model of set 42147. I have seen some other planes built from this set but wanted to go for something that would be used in remote areas. One of the highlights of this model is its spinning propeller, which adds a dynamic element to the finished build. As you attach the propeller assembly and give it a spin, you can almost hear the roar of the engine and feel the rush of wind as the plane takes off into the wilderness. The inclusion of a spare wheel and jack adds an extra layer of realism, allowing you to imagine scenarios where the plane lands on dirt airstrips in remote locations, ready to tackle any terrain. This took me about 4 hours to design and build, given the limited part count, I am very happy with how it has turned out. https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/04/moc-lego-technic-42147-bush-plane-c.html
  11. I have recently spent some time designing and building my latest MOC, this is a tracked aerial access vehicle. This is used on building sites to lift workers up to heights, to allow them to safely work above the ground. I spent some time researching these online and after trying a few builds, I am happy with the end result. It has three features: - Knob to turn the turntable. - Knob to raise and lower the bucket - An opening access panel, to allow the inner workings to be viewed. Overall I am happy with how it has turned out and how the features work, I am planning MK2 at the moment, which will have a higher lifting range. https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/04/moc-lego-technic-tracked-aerial-access.html
  12. I have recently completed my latest MOC, this is a C model truck and semi trailer, using the parts from two copies of LEGO Technic set 42147. The truck is partly based on the A model for set 42147, with the cabin being built as per the A model and the rear being designed for the attachment of the semi trailer. This features hand of god steering and the cabin doors open, as per the A model. The semi trailer connects via a pin, to the the connector on the back of the truck. It also features an opening tail gate and a fold down stand, to allow it to be easily connected and disconnected from the truck. https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/04/moc-42147-c-model-truck-and-semi-trailer.html
  13. MOC - Custom Towing Attachment for LEGO Technic 42151 C Model Pick Up Truck I have recently completed my latest MOC, this is a custom towing arm, which connects in the tray of LEGO Technic 42151 C Model Pick Up truck. When I was making my changes to this C model I had a 3L beam to the front of the tray, my idea being to use this to allow me to add custom attachments easily. This towing attachment turns this from a pick up truck in to a tow truck. It has a gear on the side with a lever, which is used to wind in and lock the tow line. As can be seen in the photos below, this easily works to tow a vehicle.
  14. The 42168 C Model Lawn Tractor (Ride On Mower), ingeniously crafted by Larsagri, emerges as a delightful surprise, exceeding expectations with its size, building process, and the final aesthetic appeal. First and foremost, let's talk size. From the moment you open the box, it's evident that this isn't your average LEGO set. The sheer scale of the pieces hints at the intricate details awaiting assembly. Assembling the model, I was pleasantly surprised by its substantial dimensions; it's much bigger than anticipated, offering a more immersive and rewarding building experience. Speaking of the building process, it's an absolute joy. Larsagri's design seamlessly combines complexity with accessibility. Each step feels purposeful, gradually revealing the inner workings of the lawn tractor. The instructions are clear and concise, guiding builders through the intricate assembly without overwhelming them. Whether you're a seasoned LEGO veteran or a novice enthusiast, the building process is sure to captivate and engage. Upon completion, the finished model is nothing short of impressive. The attention to detail is remarkable, capturing the essence of a real-life lawn tractor with remarkable fidelity. The vibrant color scheme and intricate mechanisms make it a standout piece in any LEGO collection. Whether displayed on a shelf or integrated into a larger Technic landscape, the 42168 C Model Lawn Tractor demands attention and admiration. Now, let's dive into the features that truly set this model apart. The functionality is where Larsagri's ingenuity truly shines. From the driver's seat, you can lower and raise the mower with a handle, mimicking the real-life operation with remarkable accuracy. The cutters turn as the tractor moves, adding an extra layer of realism to the experience. Additionally, support wheels for the mower ensure stability during operation, while the adjustable side ejection allows for customization according to preference. But the surprises don't end there. The engine hood can be opened, revealing a meticulously crafted engine bay. The pendular suspension of the front axle adds a touch of realism to the tractor's movements, enhancing its authenticity. Steering for the front wheels provides manoeuvrability, allowing you to navigate through imaginary fields and obstacles with ease. And let's not forget the last part: the snow plow attachment. The mount frame for front attachments with a lock in the upper position allows for seamless integration of the snow plow, transforming the lawn tractor into a versatile winter companion. Whether you're clearing driveways or sculpting snow sculptures, the snow plow adds an extra dimension of playability to an already impressive model. I have plans to build some other attachments for this. In conclusion, the LEGO Technic 42168 C Model Lawn Tractor is a triumph of miniature engineering. 15. I really like the look of this :)
  16. I thought so too, but it has been a few years since I saw it and I could not find it in all my searching.
  17. MOD - Loading Trailer for 42151 C Model Pick Up Truck Recently I have completed my modifications of the LEGO Technic 42151 C Model pick up truck, to add my own ideas and touches to it. Following this, I decided I wanted to design and build a trailer for this to tow. I had a spare copy of set 42167, which I had recently built as a C model tilt tray truck, my plan was to use the parts from this to build my trailer. I started off loading the parts from 42167 in to Studio and using this to design a trailer. After a few hours I had a design, which I was happy with. When it came time to break down 42167, which was built as a tilt tray truck, I thought this idea might work well for a trailer. A quick redesign and I ended up pulling off the front cabin part, keeping the rear tilt tray intact and redesigning this to be a trailer. I had to move the wheels back two studs and make some modifications to the tray lifting an tilting mechanism, to allow this to work. I also built a draw bar, added a stand for when it is not in use and made some minor changes to the tray. Finally I had to add a tow bar to 42151 C model pick up truck to allow this to two the trailer, this is a 7 stud beam that connects just behind the rear wheels and to the rear bumper bar. Overall, I am very happy with how this has turned out. My next plan is to build some other trailers and attachments for 42151 C model pick up truck.
  18. Recently I have built the C model Pickup Truck of LEGO technic set 42151, this was designed by "ErikGS", the instructions for this C Model can be found on Rebrickable. After building this, I was very impressed with the model and design but I saw a few areas where it could be improved, this was mostly due to some parts only being held in by one connector, such as the doors, around the engine bay and some other areas such as the top of the roof and the dashboard not staying together very well, given was a C model and only used the parts from set 42151, this was understandable. I have spent some time recently "modding" this C model and making some changes. This uses a number of other parts, meaning it is no longer a "proper" C model. I have listed the changes below. Front End Redesign. Bonnet has been swapped around and now opens, this allows the engine to be seen in operation. I also installed a stay to keep this open. The rear of the engine bay also had a stay installed, to provide some extra support. The cabin has been redesigned and has had some extra beams installed to provide more strength. A number of parts have been swapped to yellow, to give it a set of yellow strips from the front to the back. The rear tray has been improved, with side sports bars installed and some changes to the rear of the cabin and tailgate. Finally, I swapped over the wheels to ones in black and with a different tread profile, which I feels better suits this vehicle. https://paulbtechnic.blogspot.com/2024/03/mod-lego-technic-42151-c-model-pickup.html
