    Hydrogen peroxide cream 30% works really fine, and I've used it last month to retrobright my old Commodore 128, so I can say that is the correct solution (no warry about the glue in this phase). After the treatment you need to wash the robot with many cold water, so my hint about the glue is to dry the water away with compressed air in few minutes.
