Thanks anyway....oh, yeah..... I fixed the meat cabinet at the bottom....doesn't look like a car front end any more. Now for some rear views of the row of shops..... More to come keep you know......
-
I know Ford would be hard to get.....they protect their logo with a special division I had to apply permission from to use their logo in a MOC.
-
Has anyone got any ideas for trees.....I have tried during the day and I'm sort of happy with it but I really want something Aussie ?
-
Again I'll say it, MOC or modify a set to your liking that's what Lego is for.
-
I don't have an issue with any of the vehicles, they are either based on American or European vehciles.....that flat bed breakdown truck could be modelled on a Fiat truck. Only thing different is the headlight position but of course if it looked like one.....it's called a license to make......costs big bucks.

Well we have had two airports, a Toys-R-Us store, two hospitals (though the 2006 was a horror), a bank, a bike repair shop, a service station, a parking garage, a garage and a pizza bar...yes, we could have more but Lego's research shows fire and police action stuff sells better and it's only us AFOL's wanting more. Classic town has that old school simple open back buildings and 4 wide vehicles, yet now with city.....more detailing and bigger vehicles......more realism coming though but still it has that old Lego feel to them. Simple if you want shops, houses, etc., do what I do......MOC build them.

I can beat that.....1500V off of the heatsink of a line output transistor in a 68cm TV (OUCH !).......yes, current kills (over 40mA) but it's voltage that pushes and overcomes the resistance.....anyway....too far off topic for 2013 sets. Best stay on target than drifting off in talk of electrical safety.......we don't want the moderators getting upset with us all now do we ?

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
lightningtiger replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Lego said in a posting on one page of instagram - 12/3 more photos.....must be the front shots and then we can see which is worth the cash or not ? -
Saying 'Caution - Electric' might indicate wiring behind that panelling.....electrics would control the hydraulic lines for the operation of the drum and a cooling fan to keep parts of the motor assembly of course cool. There really wouldn't be much in the way of advanced electronics by the drum motor and the voltages would be no greater than 24V......I've never know anyone to die from a 24V shock have you ? Edit - I find this odd, look at the fuel bowser with the tanker truck 60016......the feed in hose is narrow yet the pump hose to fuel a vehicle from it is chunky as ? I'll make one as it comes......but then I might build a better set of them !
-
Thanks 'greg3', today after trying to make a tree I'll be looking into what I can do on the left and right sides of the town I have posted images of......my work is not finished yet by a long shot ! Keep watching everyone......things might change again not sure yet.
-
AWESOME structure 'morty'......very impressive indeed...totally has that 18th Century feel to it......Brick On 'morty' !
-
I knew it....so there is 14 city sets.......and I want that copter......AWESOME realistic play set.....neat little pick up (and I don't mind the wide tyres for a change....suits the set to a tee)...cool speed boat and of course a hideout....so Hollywood eh ?
-
AWESOME 'Sunder'.....it has that feel of Space 1999, Star Trek and even Starship Troopers to it ! Keep the fantastic designs coming and Brick On LDD On 'Sunder' !
-
Ah, so someone looked into the real town......everything is mainly a long one street and yes, originally I was planning a river bank, paddle steamer and even a punt (car ferry).....but now since it's a railway display.....though I haven't finished the ends of the town yet.......I'll look into it since you can see the width and depth of the base plates......oh, I'm a genius.....yet sometimes to dumb to know it ! Keep watching for sure now everyone !
-
AWESOME so far 'pagan'......the pools and tanks look very realistic......ah, takes me back as a child going to Marineland in Adelaide (closed back in the 1980's if memory serves me correct ). Keep up the great work and Brick On 'pagan' !
-
Not bad digital creation 'LegoBobby'....though I prefer my prime movers to be a little wider yet I like as it totally screams 1980's......B.J. & The Bear ! Brick On LDD On 'LegoBobby' !
-
Simple yet effective, you have packed so much realistic stuff in to a 16x16 plate and yet kept it Lego-ised 'greg3'. The simple sink and medicine cabinet....simple yet very clever and so classic town as well ! Brick On 'greg3' !
-
Ah, I was waiting for this.....LDD here I come then spare parts boxes or Toy Corner for the bits I don't have ! Mine is going to be roughly the same size as the bakery building.....but I'm not saying what it is yet.
-
To what....it's a pub next to almost a train line......typically in Aussie country towns they are generally called 'Railway Hotel's ! Oh, yeah I forgot about fixing the meat case in the butchers......I'll look into that tomorrow as well - thanks for the reminder.

LEGO themed names for town's pub / hotel / bar
lightningtiger replied to Luke_likes_Lego's topic in LEGO Town
Interesting list......I'll suggest "Brickworks Tavern". It sounds realistic while still sounding Lego-ish. -
Thanks.....I'll have to make a tree, need some of those new collectable minifigs.....yeah, yeah cars too.....aw, I'm not that good on cars though I'll try. And yes......Railshow 2013 at Golden Grove Arts & Rec. Centre in April......still have to finish the paper work for it though. Keep watching !
-
Thanks, I'm going to try and get some more base plates so I can get the rail curves in......sadly I might not be able to make a train station now due to money/cash flow problems still. I still have the pub and Holden showroom to put ceilings in yet......oops. Keep watching anyway.
-
How does it look everyone ? Still more to even come.....keep watching !
-
Interesting and excellent bridge 'soundwave_sw'.....any close up shots of the supports and truss work.....pretty hard to see all the detail of the bridgework.....but it does get the tiger thinking again....oh, dear ! Brick On 'soundwave_sw' !
