  1. Yeah, Lego has only a small shareholder base......all family ! Reading between the lines of all the posts I can see many different opinions.....it's quite possible this debate may never end !
  2. It's mean't to be December sometime.....when I guess is up to Lego Australia.
  3. I have an issue with the new Hoth set.....why is Luke on his own in the snowspeeder ? Apart from that it seems to be an extension of the Echo Base set and then throw in the 2011 and 2007 Hoth Base sets plus a few battle packs, etc., all round good set.....especially for those starting out to collect Star Wars sets.
  4. Happy Birthday 'Rick' ! I have a birthday suggestion for you......build something out of Lego while drinking a bottle or three of wine !
  5. Yep, this topic has about as much direction as a V-1 rocket ! Another angle to take on this is back 30 years ago video games were so much the in thing, now days it's everything....so kids want toys that will spark interest in them playing with those toys just like how video games, Ipod's, etc., do today. .
  6. I would guess at that being the area to store the road spike strip.
  7. Thanks Bill, yeah I don't Lego would like it if I put one of those in my town.......kids at the train show will ask 'Dad, what's that ?'......oh, the answers would be a laugh I guess !
  8. You can do more with a six wide vehicle, more detailing, more play features........oh, yeah that 6 wide one vs that tiny one in the helicopter rescue set.....different designers also different price points so they can offer a good product and still make it worth while for them to produce.
  9. Right so you don't know what 6 wide is.......6 stud wide vs classic town 4 stud wide.....and I'm NOT new to Lego.....I started over 34 years ago (of course spent 27 years in the darkness).
  10. Oh, small towns in Oz don't use parking meters and off street parking......no room for that as this is a railway town display......roll on Railshow 2013 !
  11. That's the point of Lego town/city......it's a peaceful place, though unrealistic as it may seem. You will not find modern weapons in any Lego set unless it is used in a Licensed set.....generally pre-20th century and future weapons are what Lego mainly uses. Now on the fire station, that's no carbon copy....the new one is bigger and it has a six wide truck in it.
  12. I think at the moment just the chase set with Chase McCain in it......I think the helicopter/hide out one might be part of it too......but I was told the game will not be out to sometime next year.
  13. I can see where the inspiration for the 2013 fire station......I would say a fusion of ideas from the past twenty years of Lego town/city fire stations.....except TownJr ( ).
  14. Really, lets test that theory...... 4 Minifigs. I count 5 minifigs. So older sets had more minifigs ?
  15. Well I'm an Australian, but I do realise a Ford Crown Victoria would be a police car. And now I say what kid's really want in all sets.....MINIFIG'S.......that's number one and everything else is number two.
  16. Dude, using Hero Factory parts....work of a genius.....I like them ! I might have to take some inspiration from your designs and brick build a few things....you know where they'll go ? LDD On 'monsinjor' !
  17. Ah, the road plate issue....yes, yes......answer is make more money....you need more straight road plates hence you buy those that come with an extra cross intersection....everyone needs heaps of those right ? I do agree with 'Ricecracker' on that this topic seems to be more a wish list than a chat about the differences between town and city designs......it must be human not to stay on target (topic) ?
  18. Okay, so also wrote in the 2013 City set topic.....why there though ?......you would like a bank and an airport..... 2009 saw a farm, bike shop/pizza bar and repair garage. 2010 saw an airport, lighting repair truck, fuel tanker, house, and TRU shop/truck. 2011 saw a bank 2012 saw a parking garage with fuel pumps/car wash and medical centre of sorts. It varies from year to year but perhaps the second half releases might be more your cup of tea......then again there is always 2014 to look forward to.
  19. Thanks 'Kristel', I'll look into that tree design and see how it would fit the space I have set aside by the council office and picnic table. I still must build my ceilings......dam I'm lazy sometimes ! Keep watching......seriously there is more to come.
  20. Reality is there is usually more cops to robbers......not every cop can be Chuck Norris and take down a dozen baddies ! And of course they have no weapons, so it the weight of numbers that works in the cops favour.
  21. Okay, so there is a lot of dribbling going on here about city vs town and about the detail in the builds, etc., please remember that these are not designed for us adults but for the average nine year old boy or girl......they want to built it fast as possible so they can play with it, break it down and make some oddball looking ship/plane/tank thingy. We can talk about this until we are blue in the face, there will always people on both sides of the fence attacking and defending what is their favourite/best theme in their eyes. I love both the town and city themes for different reasons, town for being childlike and a reminder of more simple times and city for idea of fusing town with reality (well they try anyway). To say no excuse for houses or non-police/fire sets, it's the police and fire sets that sell and make money......I have 25 Cuusoo projects running, 24 of are non police/fire....I have yet to hit a 100 on any of them perhaps such things are a hard sell ?
  22. BigW will be offering the Batcave for 98 bucks and Gungan Sub for 74 bucks.....that's it !
  23. Excellent design, but now you must try and brick build it 'Sergio'......anyway we have similar trams on the city to Glenelg line here in Adelaide. Brick On !
  24. That is a thing of beauty.....what a train station ! Excellent work and Brick On 'morty' !
  25. I barely understand myself ! Actually I won't be able too do another row of magazines.....those parts I have to put into a second row of shops....not for me but for a member of ANZFOL in Tasmania. Really I should also think about some more vehicles eh ?
