Thanks for the info!Huh. The Bat Tribe colours are really weird- kinda cool though. Nice to see Eris again- I have to somehow get her minifig someday. So the colours for the new factions are: Bats: black, lime, dark green and dark pink Spiders: black, dark red and tr. green (tr. bright green maybe? I can't explain "tr. dark green" otherwise) Rhinos: white black and grey Scorpions; black and dark green (and gold ? The scorpion in the book cover is gold and black). And the Legend Beasts might be interesting. I excepted and hoped for constraction sets, not gonna lie (but those might show up in early Summer like it happened this year), but these might include interesting pieces. Plus they include one minifig each, so one more reason to possibly buy them.

Perhaps new Eagle vehicles might feature them. I'd like to see titanium metallic too. They made them in gold so obviously metallic colours are no problem. And do we know anything about Legend Beasts? I heard they're System-built animals with a minifig included.

I do agree. Non-minifig..minifigs designs are useful if a character is strikingly non humanoid or way too skeletal to be made as a classic minifig... like battle droids or Grievous. I don't think HF Heroes fit either case, as they're fully figured (sometimes bulky even) humanoid robots..like the Galaxy Squad bots. The new legs are already too much for me- so I'd be happy if the rest of the figures' bodies were built like regular minifigs.

Am I the only one who REALLY wants to see these in silver?

He said Stormer in S. Freeze Machine has a torso armour piece similar to the Space Marine from CMF S7, and he somewhat implied the Heroes use weapons: Personally I'd like to see "energy" (transparent) weapons like those double blade weapons Galaxy Squad good guys used. And I can see something from Ninjago getting reused. Oh, and welcome to EB

They sure are, even compared to last year (which was super-late already). He described all sets fairly well, but Rocka M. and Evo XL M. are missing. He doesn't remember anything about Rocka M. but he said that one of them has a tr. green launcher (I'm 100% sure that's Rocka M.) and that Evo XL M. has flick missiles. I'll assume he forgot about Evo XL M. like with Rocka M. .

Well, pics are late it seems, so two questions for Corydoras (if he doesn't mind)? 1)You described SB's and JW's heads well. How would you describe Flyer Beast's head? Bird-like? Insect-like? Demonic? Other? 2)You compared Furno Jet Machine to River Dragon. Was it just for the shape or the colours too? So is FJM red and white?

Actually, only Ninjago, Friends, SW and Superheroes got some/all pictures. The other themes are waiting for pics just like HF.

Yes, those ones, thanks guys. And Aanchir, that's a pretty cool way to see it. I still don't like overall shape of the weapon very much, though. As for non-black bones, I think they break up the monotony in some cases. Dark bley bones look good on Rocka, Stringer (...the last Stringer we got a year ago), Evo and Stormer. Nex (same as Stringer) looked suprisingly good with light bley bones. Sometimes, non-black bones make up a vital part of the character's colour scheme: Breakout Breez, Toxic Reapa, Core Hunter, Fire Lord, Cragger, Thornraxx and others. Others, I think, look better with all black skeletons, probably because their armour is already filled with many colours: that was the case with the Breakout forms of Furno, Bulk and Surge, where I felt dark bley bones looked completely out of place. Transparent bones might've been cool (and I wasn't exactly surprised, since Front had already expressed interest in them in the past), but oh well- I'm sure the new sets are still going to bring interesting new pieces (like the feet from Ninjago's MechDragon) and recolours to the table.

So we're back to the nonsensical ugly style of Thornax launchers (which don't even remotely look like any form of launcher weapon), no plasma guns it seems...ugh.Ah, Lego, why? The plasma gun is the single most beautiful launcher you ever made. It looks like a proper cannon like the Midak skyblaster, but it's not a one piece abomination. And yes, it's Rocka's mech no doubt. Ever since 2012, Rocka featured tr. bright green accents and weapons in his sets.
-
I can't say I love those pieces- I still shudder thinking about Ultrabuild Batman's "wings". I hope FB uses the pieces in a better way..Eris/Razar wings would've been better, but I need to see pics to judge properly of course.

Yes. YESS. Well, it's only fair- 2013 was about tr. cladding, 2014 is about tr. bones.

Hmm. HF is going the opposite of BIONICLE's way. Since 2010, we had sentient, individual villains- even the SP animals spoke, hilariously enough (though they didn't display much personality). But in 2013, all we had were animal-like, non individual (except Dragon) enemies; and it looks like 2014 is heading the same way. Someone must be behind these Beasts, and I think he's the same person (um, robot) who created the Brains. It'd make sense to have him as Summer 2014's large set. And I'm the top poster again. Boy, I should really post less here. But all this speculating is so fun, and I have no exams to study for in this period. So there.

A dark lion! I like the character with different colours than their fellow tribesmen, like Eglor. I hope we get a albino raven.

So a piece in a colour not relased (yet), in Lego's Replacement Service database? IIRC that already happened before. Either way, that piece sounds really interesting. Probably Evo XL Machine uses it- since BA Evo used tr. light blue.

Yeah, I think Lego is trying to attract sci-fi fans who don't like HF. Constraction world has always been a closed one, let's face it- while nowhere as bad as it used to be, most AFOLs still have a hard time accepting HF and its predecessors (BIONICLE, etc..) as "real Lego", and I think some kids think that way too. I don't except these sets to make those people change their mind (CCBS obviously can't, and isn't meant to, replace bricks), but I do except some of them, the more open minded ones, to be won over.

I can see the body/cockpit of the mechas becoming popular as mecha frames for sci-fi/space fans.

[MOC] SD-1 battle mech (speeda demon B-model)
Shakar replied to bacem's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Wow. I really like how you used the 3 Savage Planet shells to decorate the body. The shoulders are simple yet work really well. Great job. -
Thanks for the answers as always, Corydoras! I like how you're comparing the sets to EF. So Flyer Beast is a winged humanoid? Those sound like a lot of pieces for a set, then again Razar and Eris pulled it off. Furno Jet Machine, due to the rotors, reminds me of Furno's Breakout form (though the rotor pieces had another purpose of course). I hope the cannons you are describing are plasma guns. Either way, all sets sound cool. So much more techy than 2013 sets- I prefer waves like these, like Breakout or OoF.
-
My bad! I started talking about missiles but then I derailed the conversation into a 2013 discussion. Sorry. Yes! That's a great comparison. When Corydoras described Jaw Beast I begun thinking about the monsters in Rock Raiders and Power Miners...so a short (it's a small size set afterall), stout, brutish guy came to mind. Reading that he has mantis blades really surprised me. Just googled Otachi. Sily me- I focused on the "fly" on flyer beast, always thinking about an insect villain a la Thornraxx/Waspix, but "Flyer" might very well be a non insect. The fact that FB is yellow (like Waspix) and fights with Breez (like Thornraxx did, or so we were told) clouded my judgement. If it's anything like Otachi, I wonder if it uses Razar/Eris style wings. Like a giant, unholy, mutant bird/reptile/whatever beast.

All of you are right. Trying new things out is always good, but now that they finally found a good looking launcher (the plasma gun), seeing it disappearing for a whole year (save for Jet Rocka) felt like a wasted opportunity. And I can't make myself like flick missiles, I'm afraid. Unlike the plasma gun, which looks like a proper weapon like any sword, shield, etc, the missiles look like obvious "hey, play with it!" features..like the red button on DB's back. The obvious toy element that distracts from the flow of the model. I realize these sets are mainly built for kids, so my opinion doesn't matter much..though to tell the truth, I never liked flick/spring missiles as a kid either- but that's just me.

Ah so it's three pieces actually, no wonder I was confused. Thanks. I wonder how the feet would look with different toes, such as these+these, or these. Maybe one of the combinations I mentioned found its way on HF. I'm very excited. And yes, no rear toes. A clip handle would've been nice. Still, a great piece.

I haven't seen the movie, unfortunately (though I would like to). I know the general story, however- and I wouldn't be surprised if Lego took inspiration.
