Shadow Matoran style. Figured as much. I think I'll fill out the big guy and rebuild the small one. It's a cool idea but I rather have one more Beast since they're already outnumbered.

Oh, so it's that. Too bad..but I still want a mech for Breez. The problem is that the first wave covered only 4 Heroes, like last year. So, yet again, there are 5 more to cover. And, yet again, I fear about 2 are going to be cut off. This year might be different, though- they could still manage to release minifigs of all 9 Heroes by making a set with two of them. A set like Splitter Beast, or something new like a dual-pilot mech/vehicle. I agree, the colour schemes of the Beasts look great (it's the contrast between black and bright colours, I guess). Unlike last years (save a few instances), it seems they're pulling all the stops with colour schemes, using rarer and more unusual colours. I think that the idea is to make them look like those exotic, brightly coloured reptiles (like poisonous frogs for example).I hope this trend continues in Summer. I'd like it if metallic colours were avoided for once, as they aren't bright enough. And I'd love ir if they used magenta but I know it's not going to happen.

I was typing a crazy long post but I somehow lost everything...so I'll sum up things instead: First point. @ Aanchir: Yes, the two colours are very close, but the fact that only one of the trio uses transparent bones still feels odd to me. On the second point, I wasn't very clear I admit. I meant that Jaw Beast's bones, the way I suggested, should be replaced with 5M bones. The bones would be without cladding, yes, but Lego often did that in the past anyway (Reapa, Cragger, etcc..). I still hope we get more lengths in Summer, unless they switch to another colour (Tr Bright Green?). And speaking of Azur (I thought it was Azur?), I won't sleep until we get cladding in that colour. Second point, I'm sure that other people have realized it too, but if you only get the Beast sets you'll get all 5 Hero minifigs. It's very different from what we are used to in System sets. I wonder if some sets in Summer will feature exclusive figs. Third and final point, does anyone remember this? I hope he wasn't joking on that too. Exclusive sets do pop out a while after the main wave afterall, like Ninjago's Destructoid. Though from the sounds of it, this is more akin to a big set like the Tower of Orthanc- just, 99,9% likely, much cheaper. I'm still hoping for Breez battling a giant Beast inside her own Machine. I was writing another point but I'll do it another time. It was slightly OT anyway.

I just don't get why making transperen transparent bones for one set.. and in the shortest size. They're nearly useless and ruin the color cohesion among the Beasts. The transparent bones should've been the longer ones found in the other two. That way, all 3 could've had transparent bones. It just feels weird and incomplete this way.

I can understand Jetrax. Planning mods on LDD is the best thing to do for me, since you know in advance the pieces you need (and BL the ones you don't have yet).

I don't know, seems like this arc isn't taking place in Makuhero City. If we do get an Assembly Tower set, I'm not sure if it is going to be a fully System set. I can probably see, however, a playset featuring a Beast attacking the Tower.

I just really want a female Raven personally. I'd already know how to use her.

I think Razar/Eris style wings would have sufficed. Batman wings just come across as lazy to me. And Cirkit (welcome back BTW), Rocka's and Stormer's Machines are mid size. Only the Walker and Jaw Beast are small sets. Anyway, I agree with you, Splitter Beast is pretty short, not counting the added height of the heads. That goes for the two other Beasts too. I guess I shouldn't be worried, since those heads are massive. And I still don't get why Jaw Beast is called like that, since the other two have essentially the same head.

I tried to figure it out but I couldn't quite do it, so thanks a lot. It really is a clever design. See,THIS is what HF should be. The bone system has a lot of untapped potential. I don't hate Technic of course, but I was saddened by how much it was used this year. To me, it felt like saying that the CCBS can't stand on its own and needs the support of Technic. Now it seems we're back on track, which is awesome. Fixed some silly typos. Blame TouchPal.

[ Well, I mean non-humanoid Machines. You know, space ships and such. I'd like if they took inspiration from Galaxy Squad. And yes, multiple pilot Machines for the win! Indeed. They also have a completely different style compared to full scale Heroes, in colours, proportions and parts selection. If you added a proper torso and head they'd look silly, especially SFM and FJM with their weird proportions. RSM and EXLM are more standard humanoids, but their colour schemes are so much different from those of their pilots. They're clearly meant to only vaguely remind you of their pilot. It's not bad, humanoid designs were getting stale (inexplicably so, since 2012 was chock full of experimentation). So anything new and inspirational And speaking of experimentation, I think FJM's shoulders are completely built from bones- I don't see any Technic involved, unlike Frost Beast.

Someone wisely mentioned the combination models on the previous page.. I think we'll return to the classical formula this time. While the idea of Beast/Machine hybrids sounds cool, the exceution might..lack. The Beasts could combine into a 4 headed hydra monster, while the Machines turn into one multi-pilot titan- the 3 15 Euro mechas, at least. And in Summer I fully except at least one vehicle set. Now that the pieces required for the pilot make up a insignificant part of the piece budget, the designers can fully commit themselves to design a very cool vehicle model.

I'm sure you're not the only one, I'm still divided myself. On one hand, it's a totally new concept for constraction lines, and the overall execution is very well thought out. On the other, I'm not totally sure how I can integrate these sets in my HFverse. As a MOCer, though, I have no doubt this is a good line (would've liked some new weapons, though). The printed pieces are especially a nice surprise- I'm very tempted to equip the Heroes with them. Some recolours are great as well, like the paws and Stormer XL feet. Plus the designs of the mechs are quite inspirational, especially Furno JM. Its shoulder/chest build is unique as far as I can see. I'm not sure since pics aren't out yet, but Jaw Beast might have a unique torso as well. Evo XL M. also seems well deisgned, legs aside. Overall, I'll probably use the mechs in the same way I used BA Heroes- that is, I'll integrate some pieces into their Breakout forms, like the printed shells for example. Too bad Breez doesn't seem to get her own mech, at least not in this wave. But I still have some hope for the big set Front implied (not sure if I can trust him after the bones incident though ). As for the Beasts, all 3 are awesome, but that doesn't mean they won't escape from the usual mods- it's like an addiction for me. I, however, know I'll get them for sure, unlike the BA Villains. They look menacing, consistent and actually COOL.

I'm pretty sure JB has azure bones like the other two Beasts. JB uses the smallest bones on its lower legs.. and the same bone piece, in azure, is used on Flyer Beast's tail. So, so no tr. light blue bones. I wonder what Front was talking about then....
-
One of the things I love the most is the large use of printed shells. I loved those in 2011! Bruizer and Pyrox used them, but they weren't very amazing I think. These look much better! Both the ones on the Beasts and on the Machines feature gorgeous designs. I don't see trans. bones though.

Brickshow have reviewed the Mechdragon, there are some nice IRL shots of the new feet from Flyer B. and Splitter B., in particular at 17.58.

Oddly enough in Italy Bionicle was a March release, while HF sets hit most stores in January like the other new sets. I got my first Exo Force set while looking for a Piraka to buy. Maybe the pics are on Walmart's server? It seems there's no way to access them since the URLs use lines of letters and numbers as random as those found on Youtube video URLs.

I'm 99% sure the minifigs (Stormer at least) are using a new weapon, a tr. light blue wrist mounted shield (I'm using the "red Stormer" from the bag art of Furno Jet M. because it stands out more): http://24.media.tumblr.com/7a2d8c8e1b433489672c0b457077ef83/tumblr_mw04h6UcPK1r466wko1_100.jpg (Second pic doesn't work, tumblr seems to hate it and I don't have time to upload it elsewhere now. Just check Stormer on the lower part of Jaw Beast's bag) I like it. It reminds me of the Hex Shield from Breakout, which was tragically scrapped...ironically, I always wanted that one in any shade of tr. blue.
-
HF always used printed parts in the past, save for very rare cases like Stormer XL, the Beast heads don't even look flat enough for a sticker to be applied nicely. And again, I might be wrong but SFM probably features Pyrox flames in tr blue. But it might be due to the CGI-esque graphics of the pictures, not to mention that in preliminary images some colours often are subject to change (see Breakout Surge's weapon). So in the final set the white recolour from BA Stormer might be reused (hope not).

Indeed, the new animal like feet come in two sizes. Splitter B. and the Dragon use the bigger one while Jaw B. uses the smaller narrow one. I guess Flyer Beast uses the smaller feet. Front teased us about new feet, I wonder if that's all? I might be totally wrong on this but...maybe Freeze Machine has smaller version of the Stormer XL feet?
-
They're exactly the same size, actually. Notice that the article was published on October 29th, just one day after Mesonak found the pics.

More images of Sparratus: http://www.thebrickfan.com/2014-lego-minifigures-show-ebay/ Whew, that minifig head looks creepy! And..I..really want some spiders now.

D I actually remember that post! I didn't remember its author though. It's probably in the 2013 HF topic but I'm not sure. And, I noticed the Beasts are using some quirky and rare colours as main colours (purple, azure, whichever the colour of SB's second head is). I wonder what we'll get in Summer? I'd like if metallic colours were avoided this time, I love the idea of vivid and vibrant colours contrasting with black. Lime green seems like a given, but I'd like if rarer colours were used as well, like magenta. I know it's early to speculate, but it's still fun.
-
I thought about that as well...like with the Brains (green and yellow shades in Winter, blue shades in Summer). Perhaphs Summer Beasts use tr. bright green or tr. neon green for their bones. This post kind of implies we're getting more than one transparent colour:

Ehm..I would've replied with "What are you talking about? There's only one new foot piece!", but then I looked at the pics again. So..Jaw Beast might have smaller version of the new Mecha Dragon feet, with only one liftarm sticking from the back rather than two. Otherwise I have no clue.Speaking of the new feet, the S@H pics of the Dragon show them very well. L. Credit to Aanchir for finding them. I can't wait to get my hands on those pieces!
