[Freebuild - Mitgardia] Abandoned Kirk
Spud The Viking replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! I'll be sure to extend the base next time Thank you fr the feedback! I just tend to start building and never consider the camera work later - which you are right in saying really shows. This one was particularly hard to photograph because of the size, so I will definitely take your advice on board next time! Thanks! Don't tell amyone but the hole is there because I began to run out of black 1x1 cheese slopes Thank you! You're correct about the borders, I'll make note of this! -
[COR - FB] Spudkirk Logging Camp
Spud The Viking replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! Good idea, that would add a bit more realism Thank you! I basically used all of my dark tan wedges I thought the sawdust might look too much like the surrounding sand, but clearly it worked out okay Thank you! I don't have the proper saw utensil, so I had to improvise Thanks! -
Settlement: Spudkirk, Avestia, Corrington
Spud The Viking replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Medium Factory: -
Many thanks! A word of warning, I may have incorrectly spelt the name of the settlement when adding a property, sorry in advance
-
Medium Factory: Footprint 1024 studs in Spudkirk The newly declared settlement of Spudkirk was still in it's humble beginnings. One necessity was the supply of wood and lumber for fuel and building materials. A small camp was set up on the beach, with hewn trees brought to be processed.

[Freebuild - Mitgardia] Abandoned Kirk
Spud The Viking replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! Hopefully I'll meet your expectations. Cheers! I far prefer building structures than landscape, but I'll try to push myself. Thank you! Good idea about taking photos further back - I'll keep it in mind next time. Thanks! Thank you! I get what you mean about the round studs, I'll keep experimenting. There's more photos on my Flickr, but I'll work on capturing it all next time. -
Merry Christmas everyone! Hopefully you all get plenty of peaceful rest, and ample time to build MOCs that keep this game awesome!

[COR Dec FB4] Watchtower on Lake Myzec
Spud The Viking replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Wow, yet another top quality build Ayrlego! I love the exposed studs going horizontally around the tower. A very clean yet appealing and well done build! -
Last time we seen Amos Lachlan leave his home parish in search of other settlements and their stories. After a few weeks, Amos discovered an abandoned kirk building. Strange, the building was sizeable and yet there was nobody to be seen around the church. No clergyman inside or any village surrounding it. The roof had began rotting and partially collapsed at one end. Many stones had began to crumble and some vegetation had started to grow between the cracks. Something must have happened to cause this flight of people, and to let this building fail into dilapidation. "Who worshiped here? What happened to them?" Amos asked himself as he lit the front sconce, "I will need to find these people, and restore this place of worship to its proper function." Does Amos know what he's getting himself into? You shall need to wait and see where this search takes him next... ____________________ More pictures: A little 'kirk' I built, when procrastinating revision for my university exams, that I'm now getting round to photographing

(GBW) Phase 2 - Information & General Discussion
Spud The Viking replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
Hi, I'd like to decline. I feel bad for abandoning ship after contributing in the first stage of the game, but if I'm honest I didn't get much joy out of competing and had to push myself to build for challenges. Please don't take this the wrong way, it wasn't my cup of tea I will still follow the game, but as a spectator. All the best! -
Very nice build! I like the use of the discoloured white and the lime contrasts well. The sand snot arou d the edge is also lovely.

[Freebuild - Mitgardia] Amos Lachlan's Parish
Spud The Viking replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks, I'll add more variation next time! Thank you! Thanks! Maybe 1x2's would have been better given the size. Thanks! Aye, I rushed the landscape a bit and it does show. Thanks for the comments! -
[SR - FB] Bastion coast guard
Spud The Viking replied to Fraunces's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is superb, it all feels true to the theme of the Sea Rats. That round tower is excellent and you have included many nice details like the wharf area, mortar etc. Overall, nice build! -

[Freebuild - Mitgardia] Amos Lachlan's Parish
Spud The Viking replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for the feedback! I was maybe to hasty in posting this and probably spent more time on the landscape as many of you have suggested. I will improve this next time. Thanks! Didn't realise there was Scotsman in the Guilds. My pathwork does need improvement, I'll try to up this for next time. -
