  1. Thank you! Corries are known for their innovation, as you know. I had considered using white panels but I think the simple bricks look better. Cheers!
  2. Thanks! Well, the office may just be used as storage right now, seeing as we have little trade (I guess I forgot about windows ) Thank you!
  3. Thanks! I don't usually have such neat cobblestone but I wanted to give it a try seeing as this was a 'new' property. Aye, that's the plan. Hopefully in later builds I should show the steep incline up the cliff face. I look forward to seeing your residences
  4. Thanks! I guess the most famous examples would be the windmills in the Netherlands which were used to reclaim land by pumping the water elsewhere. This one's more of a well/pump however. It's an interesting read on Wikipedia. Thank you!
  5. Large Commercial in Spudkirk What was once shacks and shelters, Spudkirk has developed into a growing settlement. This was largely helped by the addition of a stone watchtower and harbourmaster's office in the newly created harbour. These mark the first permanent buildings in the settlement, ones that will endure the wilds of colonial life. Speaking to Lord Spud [on the right of the picture] is the officer William 'Billy' Boyne. Basically Spud's right-hand-man, he is in charge of looking after the defences in Spudkirk as well as a few other roles. The marketplace was full of hustle and bustle, with fisherman, farmers, and troops from the Grand Expedition drilling. The soldiers are quite anxious for some action or adventure, some are less amused with settlement life. These were the first robust structures in Spudkirk - and judging by the skill, determination, and diligence of the settlers - it shall not be the last. God save the Queen! More pictures:
  6. Small Factory in Spudkirk The expedition has been a resounding success, the settlers in Spudkirk have just completed a wind-powered water pump. Finally, the much needed resource of fresh water is readily available to the colonists. With the strong sea breeze coming in, the windmill could be left stationary, without having to shift to chase the wind. This saved greatly on construction time and valuable resources. The constant wind drives the sails, with operates the pump in the ground. The engineers brought from Corrington spent much time deciding the location of the windmill, but careful planning ensures the pump draws fresh water from underground sources. The Grand Expedition may continue, and the settlers of Spudkirk happy - I'd say it was a job well done. More pictures:
  7. A question: how do you guys create maps for settlements? This is probably aimed at Corries, but others are more than welcome to answer.
  8. Another stunning build! I love the Port Woodhouse aesthetic, and I think you improve on it each time. A really elegant build! Also, hope you get better soon
  9. Thank you, I'm glad you like it!
  10. Wow really nice work! The whole place is teeming with life, I can see how much effort has gone into all of it! Great build, well done.
  11. Thank you! I was hoping the blue would make it appear colder. In truth, I started with ten sides, but the pillars being attached with to the base with SNOT made it difficult, hence the slight gaps in the ring. I didn't realise it was a Chima flag, the wonderful thing about Bricklink I suppose Thank you! Thank you very much! Thanks, photography is one area I lack in, so I'm always trying to improve.
  12. For much of Mitgardia, the people had been undaunted by rumours and gossip that was widely circulating further South. There was no evidence to suggest present danger in their lands; that was until stories of mages and wizards practicing dark arts in the North. Even scarier was the gossip of large armies gathering around ancient religious sites. Could it be that the evil forces are forging alliances within Mitgardia? If so, who could stop the magic and might of such an enemy? Wise councilmen began speaking of how similar mages in ages past could conjure powerful creatures, and wield destruction with their staff. Tales of heavily armed and battle-ready mercenaries soon spread like wildfire over the frosty tundra of Mitgardia. Labourers worked the more earnestly to construct fortifications, peasants coughed up more tax, and lords sought to better equip and train their soldiers. The thought of defending against sinister foes sent shivers down the spines of all of Mitgardia. Could these bands of evil foes be as strong as the rumours say? After all, nobody has dared to venture into the bleak, snowy landscape to check the ancient shrines and temples. Surely the elite would not terrify the population simply for their own gain? Or would they?
  13. I'll throw my hat into the ring, if that's okay
  14. @Roadmonkeytj I will still build a small property showing the supply of water to the settlement, I'm just wondering if my large property will still be allowed?
  15. I have a question regarding Does this mean the build are medium at max? I have built a large property, so is this unacceptable or does it mean only the discount is invalid?
  16. Really nice fort! The walls are well done, and I like the sea weed washed onto the shore. It all looks so realistic
  17. Really interesting stuff, thanks for sharing!
  18. Thanks! Wouldn't you like to know?! The early settlement is built upon the beach for now, hence the mostly sandy terrain. He is on patrol while the villagers are hard at work, you fellows seem to get awfully worried rather quick Indeed, plus some people like their privacy - away from people who question if they are hiding black market goods in there. Whoops, did I say that? Thanks! Needs must I suppose. Maybe more civilians would have helped sell the "residence" term better. Thank you!
  19. Really nice build all round! The house is great work, and the tents are done nicely. Well done!
  20. Apologies for my delay, but I still wish to welcome @Legonaut and @Wellesley! You have both made some excellent builds already, and I look forward to work alongside each of you to glorify Her Majesty.
  21. Medium Residence: Footprint 1024 studs in Spudkirk The small settlement of has made use of its logging camp already, with the citizens constructing a medium residence for its growing population.
