Another version of the trailer is my Nooteboom 5-axle low loader with swing dolly (EURO 114-25). The rear deck double mounted wheels (the smaller one but with same diameter) and are steered by two servos. The swing dolly has two fixed axles and the swan neck is merged to it with a Technic turntable. Two LAs are taking care of leveling the loading deck (powered by two L-motors). The trailer runs very smooth and is capable to carry quite some heavy loads like this heavy Trojan prime mover built by Paul van der Loo. The combo still needs to be finalized with some decals.

[MOC] Tatra T2-603
Dennis Bosman replied to HorcikDesigns's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
One of the weirdest cars I've ever seen. Very good captured in LEGO! -
This model also still exist and got un update last year as well. The truck itself is quite unique and is among one of my favorites. The chassis has been replaced by a system build instead of using Technic beams. I took the opportunity too to add all hoses for the breaking system, fuel lines etc. The bodywork easily can be removed. Of course the cab's roof has a smooth look. Pictures of the end result still have to be taken. I took the picture below in July 2016 in my previous work shop.

The update with this model I did last year. Nowadays models tend to be smooth by hiding all studs. Since this 2013 KW still had them visible I had to remove them. And actually the model is a very good example to make it bold anyway. I also took the opportunity to change its livery slightly with replaced green by dark green. I think it look way better now (thanks to the Mini :-) ) One of the new features are round fuel tanks. On the 'original' they were still constructed with standard slopes but since there are plenty of curved ones available they should be build accordingly. The bars with the steps came from on online handy craft shop and are easy to get in shape.

This one's getting a fresh appearance at the moment; I'm trying to get rid off al studs. Also inside the trailer. I have plenty of tiles now compared to when I was building the model.

I really didn't post a lot on forums anyhow the last couple of years while I was too busy with other things. And actually the 'Model Team' posts on EB were a little bit faded away in the Technic forum. This is a far better solution. I'm having some new stuff/updates on it's way. Will drop them here for sure :-)

There is quite some stuff around on the Technic/Model Team subforums including mine. But I'm not sure what will happen with these e.g. moved to this part. I must admit; now we have this sub area it'll motivate me much more to post some stuff since I was just active once in a while on EB. And that means not just 'simple upgraded' VW Beetles and Minis. We're trying to collect really own made stuff based on the real thing. It can either be a truck, car, vessel, aircraft or whatever it might be. True Technic builds and fantasy stuff doesn't belong here.

Here's my copy of 2LegoOrNot2Lego's T143. It's a heavy duty T143E chassis and eventually will be coupled to a 12-axle drawbar trailer and carry a ballast tray on top of the chassis. The chassis is driven by duel XL-motors and connected to a SBrick. The cab is my own design as I didn't wanted to make a 1:1 copy. Of course I would like to signwrite a model myself ;-) More of those will follow as it's great fun to build. I really can recommend the very clear instructions!

Thanks guys. In a meanwhile I had to dismantle the entire bodywork. Otherwise I'm not able to fix the conveyor belt. Hopefully this will work out pretty well.

This really is a great outfit! Have seen this one running at the Modelshow Europe in March this year: It proves the 1:15/1:16 scale is very suitable for PF motorized models. In my 1:13 it getting far to heavy while building one already. Still have this slightly smaller scale in mind for future models. Then we can create an even larger layout at the Modelshow Europe!

Actros
Dennis Bosman replied to Dafgek81's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That Actros is built by Tobias from Germany. Here you can find some more pictures; https://www.flickr.com/photos/legotobi/ Also check his SK. Pretty good matching model! -
However this model is five years old already it needed an update with some great events upcoming this autumn. Last year I modified the Volvo unit a little bit; some chassis mods, new drive train and boogie lift. But now the biggest modifications needs to be done with the trailer. At LEGO World last year I had several malfunctions while unloading approx. 18 kg of beans. The belt was very dirty and it was stretched pretty much. As I just built two new end conveyors I'm modifying the one in the trailer as well. It looks like a massive operation but I'm hoping getting it fixed in a few evenings. With 'STEAM' coming early October I definitely need to get it running properly again.

This is how they're put in the frame: The switches are operated by a lever which is connected to the compressor motor.

This is not one of my most recent builds but I never published a video of it. Now I took some more indoor shots as well. I started to build this dozer back in 2006 to be laden onto a Renault Magnum. First the model was driven by a RC unit, from set 8366. It ran OK but I didn't like the receiver and it took to much space in the model. Later I made my own control unit but that one was wired to make it possible to get the dozer blade operated by pneumatics. Later I decided to build in some PF stuff. My mate Barman helped me out with designing a compressor which is combined with the switch. I needed two of those and they just fit in the frame. I built in some PF receivers and gave the 9V RC motors another position in the frame. They're now put vertically. The looks are still the same as I was satisfied with it's appearance. OK, it's not a LEGO event, but we're always present with quite some AFOLs. This year we went with a group of ten showing MOCs of cranes and trucks. It's always fun to have such a meet and to speak to each other again. And of course the LEGO builders always get lots of attraction by the audience! To get a view of what was there just check out these pics: https://www.flickr.c...57642755774044/

ZIS 5 Transporter
Dennis Bosman replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
These trucks for yours are pretty cool. Have seen the one with the latice boom crane as well. Nice job! -
These are standard 24x43 wheels, like from set 8860. I only have them chromed. A Bricklink shop like this one does sell these custom parts: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=bricks4all It's not cheap but really a good addition.

Crowkiller's Muscle Car
Dennis Bosman replied to Kronos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Black and red really looks good. Nice car Paul! -
That's correct jrathfon. This vinyl is of much better quality and longlasting. I didn't print them myself. The company which took care of it has a laser cutter and then it's just a matter of adding the decals to the model. They do not have the red background and that's what I wanted, just the lettering.
-
The pieces indeed are custom chromed as Milan described. Not very cheap, but it really is a good addition to the model. The decals are also custom made but these are real stickers (no water transfers). These are also put on cars, vans so water resistant. There are quite some companies who can prints these. You only should have knowledge about Adobe Illustrator to create some.

Your Best Technic Bargains
Dennis Bosman replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Some of the best Technic deals I had were in the 90s. I think it was 1995. Internet just started more or less but still everyone was advertising in local newspapers. I raised a short advertisement that I was looking for LEGO Technic. A 15 or 16 year old boy rang me and told me he had quite a big lot of Technic (I was 18 then). I went to visit him with my dad and he and his mother sorted out the whole lot. Some sets I really was looking for. As I didn't expect that much I first bought set 8856 and 8859 (I always wanted to have one!). I paid him around 55 euros for both. Later I bought the rest of the lot for about 150 euros. The complete trunk of my parents car was stacked with LEGOs! Really nice sets were in it, like 8856 (helicopter), 8853 (wheel loader), 8851 (crawler crane). I bought some more (smaller lots) later. But in 2005 I guess it was I saw an advertisement on a market place on the internet someone was trying to sell a great lot of Technic and Model Team (like 8860, 5590 and I can't remember what was in this lot). I placed my bid but someone else was overbidding me. Eventually this guy mailed me because he only was interested in set 5590. I already had a copy so I thought it was fine. I paid about 240 euros for the whole lot and sold the 5590 for about 80 euros. That was a good deal! The trunk of my car was full of LEGOs! These were my biggest bargains. Last year a woman send me an email in which she was asking me whether I was interested in a lot of used LEGO Technic. I asked her for the set numbers and she mailed me a list; 8860, 5580 and a lot more stuff. It was her brothers LEGO but as he wasn't interested in it and didn't had kids his sister could give it to hers. But she told me their kids were having their own LEGO and they weren't interested in 80s stuff at all. All she wanted for the lot was a coupon of 25 euros for her brother so he could buy some music or whatever … The reason why she contacted me was she didn't want to put in on eBay; some resellers might have bought it and sold it again for a lot of money. She wanted it to give to a LEGO fan and then she found my website via Google and she was just living 15 minutes drive from me … That was a good deal and about 75% of the pieces were in good shape. Sometimes you've to be lucky but these kind of lots are quite rare nowadays. Here's a picture of the lot I bought last year for only 25 euros ... -
