  1. On the Lego Technic Designers Blog, there is a new, full-page article by Markus Kossman about "Unimog Implements". It fits in nicely with this Eurobricks topic.
  2. @ jacobkristensen: I would buy them from Lego Direct. Here's what I paid for them: New C-shaped pivot frame (Lego Part Number 4610379; Bricklink 92910) = $2.25 ea. (half of the Bricklink average cost) New cup to fit on above pivot (Lego 4610380; Bricklink 92911) = $1.02 ea. (half of the Bricklink average cost)
  3. @ paddy_kerrigan: On this Eurobricks post, Josh Lucas posted an Lego Digital Designer .lxf file for a 7-speed (plus reverse) gearbox: Rufus2468 posted a of a 6-speed gearbox. He has the LDD .lxf file posted here. I found several more possibilities on this Google search.
  4. On his website, VKTechnic/ sumwunudontknow posted a of "The Highly Experimental High Speed Tracked Vehicle...an 8-treaded vehicle based on shuttle carriers." "Datasheet Completion Date: 8/20/2011 Power Source: Electric (Power Functions 8878 Rechargeable Battery) Dimensions: 53x39x13 studs Drive motors: 8 M-Motors (one for each track) Total motors: 8 M-Motors, 4 XL-Motors This project came about while I still had one excavator chassis sitting about. After making four of them for fun, they were connected, and the HEHSTV came to be. The model itself is driven by eight M-Motors, one for each track. This gave sufficient torque to drive the model over carpet and even some small obstacles. Steering was achieved through four XL-Motors, coupled in pairs by switches. By flipping the switches, one could switch from crab to normal steering." See 7 pictures on his Flickr photostream.
  5. There is only a few days left in August to vote for one of these ten finalists in this month's Lego Technic Challenge:
  6. Are you making a cup of cocoa with it?
  7. Maybe the 9-series sets are an upgrade from the 8-series sets (like one sees for car models and aircraft).
  8. You must have been inspired by James May's Lego House:
  9. Nico71 has Building Instructions for "The Wave" GBC module.
  10. You can download the PDF instructions for the four Lego 8448 Alternate Models by linking to these MegaUpload SkyDrive sites (where I put them): BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS ALL FOUR 8448 ALTERNATES (Concept Car, Racer, Hot Rod, & Buggy) in one PDF File: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=5641cce2a1cc0886&resid=5641CCE2A1CC0886!166&parid=5641CCE2A1CC0886!165 . 11. On his website, Sariel has a simple steering wheel design.
  12. @ dulcaoin: I presume you are Joshua Delahunty, the maker of the Concept Car's building instructions. I bought the PDF file, and can say that they are very well done. Thank you for all the work you and Nathanael Kuipers did to share your work!
  13. Actually, the Lamborghini Gallardo was designed by Paul Boratko (Crowkillers); Blakbird made the Building Instructions.
  14. @ DaddyWhale: You might benefit from reading the 14 reviews of the 8880 Super Car set on Brickset.
  15. It seems that these two PLASTIC parts are sold out of normal Bricklink stores. However, you can get ALUMINUM ones from the "Inanimate Reason" Bricklink store. Click on the "Show All Custom Items" at the left edge of this webpage to find them on Pages 4 and 5: "Chrome Silver Studless Custom Liftarm style angled beam, 7L (4x4 holes). Standard hole spacing with 4 holes on each side of a right (90 degree) angle. Machined using high grade aluminum. Compatible with Technic parts": "Chrome Silver Studless Custom Liftarm style straight beam, 16L (16 holes). Yes! An EVEN number of holes! Standard hole spacing. Machined using high grade aluminum. Compatible with Technic parts":
  16. @ Henkl: I have operated a Wood Chipper, and they are common in logging operations here in the Pacific Northwest. The open part of the chip "box" is facing rearward. The chipper is towed, and the branches are places in the back (rear) of the chipper to shoot the chips forward into the box.
  17. Actually, it is available in Ireland via this Shop.Lego.com webpage. Price = EUR 59.99.
  18. This is a nice find! arthursacek wrote, "This model was developed by Arthur Sacek for ZOOM Education for Life."
  19. @ TheTechnicBuff: Welcome to Eurobricks! Out of curiousity, are you incorporating this into a supercharger blower for some Technic vehicle?
  20. @ rm8/ ekarshiev8: Welcome to Eurobricks! The profile of your 4-wheeler looks good:
  21. There are 13 pictures on Nico71's Brickshelf gallery:
  22. MySnailEatsPizza1 posted this of his W-I-D-E "entry into the August 2011 technic challenge. It is a replica of the incredible Caparo T1, with some slight modifications, hence the T2. It features 2wheel drive with a limited slip differential, front double clutch steering to prevent internal damage, working headlights, detailed exhaust pipes, a working steering wheel, detailed air intakes, and a spoiler. The second seat is removed to decrease weight (if this was a real car). While it is not very fast, it is very heavy, yet it can still move. It measures 21 inches long. It also uses 1 battery box, 1 medium motor, 2 pairs of lights, and 2 xl motors."
  23. Thirdwigg posted this of his Lego Technic FTTS Trial Truck -- a "concept truck design to replace the US Army Hummer. The model features front and rear independent suspension and [four wheel crab] steering....with 2 PF M, two speed gearbox by 1 PF M, gears 1-6.2 and 1-10, portal axles." See 9 big pictures on his Brickshelf gallery.
  24. Scroll through the two pages of "Technic Figure" items on Bricklink. Too bad there is no large Technic Figure version of "The Stig" minifig shown below (from the "Top Gear" TV series):
